Girls' Generation Talks About Their Close Friendship

Girls' Generation recently sat down for an interview with "Entertainment Weekly," during which they talked about the secret to their longevity and their friendship.

The interview appears to have been filmed for their August 5 fan meeting "Holiday to Remember," when the group celebrated their 10th anniversary with fans. Seohyun was unable to take part in the interview because she was filming for her drama.

When asked how it felt to be making a comeback as a group after two years, YoonA replied, "It's really, really great. Also, reaching a 10th anniversary isn't an easy thing to do, so I feel like it's really cool.".

Taeyeon added, "When I'm promoting on my own, the waiting room is so quiet. It's so quiet that I feel embarrassed to talk.

So I really miss that, the members' noisiness. There's also this energy when we're all together on stage. I think I need that. I really missed the members.".

The members were then asked what the secret to their longevity has been. Sooyoung has replied, "Smiling while we're together means we don't get stressed while we're working. I think smiling as we work is the best thing.".

Yuri jumped in to joke, "And then fighting as soon as we get in the waiting room," which cracked the others up.

When asked what they do when they're not working, Sooyoung explained that since they live close together, they'll meet up and eat together. Hyoyeon said that they'll suggest they get together to have rice wine (makgeolli) when it's raining out.

Yuri admitted, "We always celebrate our birthdays together. But since it means we have to meet up eight times, it's a bit tiring," earning another burst of laughter from her group mates.

Tiffany joked as everyone laughed, "I think Girls' Generation's secret is actually our honesty.

Girls Generation recently made a comeback with their 10th anniversary album Holiday Night, featuring the title tracks Holiday and All Night. It was recently announced that their contracts have expired, with some members still in discussion about renewal.

Girls' Generation Talks About How 10 Years Flew By During Their 10th Anniversary Fan Meeting

On August 5, Girls Generation celebrated their 10 year anniversary with fans by holding a fan meeting, 10th Anniversary -Holiday To Remember.

During the fan meeting, they performed new songs from their sixth album, including Holiday and All Night, as well as their older songs dating back to their first album. The girls also shared their thoughts on being together for ten years.

ATF. Sooyoung opened up by saying, I think we were smart in debuting in the summer with Into the New World, and were so grateful that the song has become one that has helped define a generation.

I want to thank my fellow members and our staff for working so hard for the past 10 years, and I want to thank our fans as well..

Sunny added, Looking back, I feel proud because we were so busy with our activities that it feels like time has flown by. It feels nice to have gained enough experience to not feel anxious and to be able to just enjoy everything.

I hope our fans will be able to enjoy our new album and its promotional activities as much as we will. Seohyun stated, Were so grateful to all our fans for waiting for us for two years.

Weve been waiting for this album as much as you have, and its like a special gift because its for our 10th anniversary. We hope you really enjoy it..

Taeyeon commented, The time has gone by too quickly. I dont feel like Ive been doing this for so long.

I just want to have a Party with my fans and have a good time. Then, YoonA chimed in and said, 10 years is a big achievement and not everyone makes it this far.

Im glad to be able to celebrate this achievement and spend time with fans..

Towards the end of the fan meeting, there was a video highlighting the best moments of Girls Generation, starting with their debut to their most recent album. During this, some members shed tears of happiness and joy. Congratulations to Girls Generation!.

Girls Generation recently shot a pictorial for W Koreas August issue to commemorate the groups upcoming 10-year anniversary.

In the interview, titled A Decade to Remember, each of the Girls Generation members were interviewed about how theyve changed since their debut, what Girls Generation means to them, and the highs and lows of the past 10 years.

Personality-wise, I think Seohyun has changed the most. She used to be introverted but now she is more energetic and approaches people first.

Thats partly due to her own efforts and partly because of the members. Tiffany has improved a lot in Korean and chooses her words well in interviews..

Sunny dispensed some advice to her juniors in the industry, saying, I think its a good idea to try all the things you want to try, as long as its appropriate for your age and you can take responsibility.

Thats how you get to know what youre good at it and what you really want to do. Of course, you have to shoulder both success and failure yourself so its not easy to do..

Tiffany said, Girls Generation is a place where I learn only good things. Its an honor that only comes once in a lifetime.

I love Girls Generation so much that if I was born again Id want to be a member of this group again. While preparing for this comeback, we looked back at the videos from our debut.

Theyre my members, but Im still impressed how we worked so constantly, trying acting or variety when we werent putting out music..

Yuri said, [Weve maintained a good relationship for 10 years] by always being careful. Were more careful now in some ways than we were 10 years ago.

The members and Girls Generation are precious to me so we try to hold ourselves above things. When negative things happen, I think thats the easiest way to be easygoing and get along.

Weve come to a time when we can act like a family and cherish each other.. Sooyoung said, What we gained in the past 10 years are memories and experience. If weve lost something, its time.

It might be a contradiction to say weve gained memories and lost time, but I think its true. However, weve gained more than we lost so I dont regret anything..

Hyoyeon shared what she most likes to hear from the public, saying, Im always hungry for praise. I like all kinds of praise.

In the past, I really liked hearing that I was pretty or Id gotten prettier. Now I like hearing that I have a lot of appeal. It means that I have found my own color..

Taeyeon talked about the groups new album, planned for this August. It was hard to bring out the key point of a short part, she said.

Maybe it was a result of having promoted solo for so long. I thought a lot about how I could match better with the other members while recording..

Seohyun talked about her clean-cut image, saying, I do want to let myself go a little. Ive always set rules for myself like, I have to go home by this time.
