Australian Idol alum Cosima De Vito announces first pregnancy with husband
Former Australian Idol star Cosima De Vito is expecting her first child. AUSTRALIAN Idol star Cosima De Vito has today announced she's expecting her first child with husband Augusto De Romanis.
The 40-year-old singer, who shot to fame for coming third on the first season of Australian Idol, revealed the exciting news in an interview with Woman's Day. "Becoming a mum was the only thing missing in my life," she told the magazine.
Cosima De Vito with her husband Gus De Romanis. De Vito and De Romanis married in 2015 after their whirlwind romance saw Augustus propose a mere three month after they met.
Despite the quick proposal, the couple seem to be doing better than ever as they sat down with the magazine to gush about being on their way to becoming first-time parents.
"This is a long time coming for Gus, too. All of his friends are dads already and he's over the moon," Cosima said. De Romanis, 50, and De Vito are also already planning their future.
"Because we are both older, we've already discussed the fact that as soon as this one comes we should start trying for another," the singer said.
Cosima's exciting news comes after the Australian Idol singer recently spoke about being single for 10 years and considering paying for IVF to become a mother.
The singer originally shot to fame for appearing on the 2003 debut season of Australian Idol alongside Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noll.

Despite being the favourite to win, De Vito was forced to withdraw from the competition after a doctor found nodules on her vocal chords which was ruining her singing.
"Unfortunately, I have a temporary condition that's affecting my voice," she announced on TV back in 2003. "It's forced me to make the decision to leave the competition.".
Since her time on the reality show, Cosima has returned to singing, releasing two albums and releasing a number of covers over the years.
