Chelsea transfer news: Eden Hazard made agent launch Real Madrid enquiry - report
Real Madrid were tipped to sign Hazard from Chelsea at the start of the summer. However, Zinedine Zidane's side opted against a transfer and instead pulled off discreet deals for Theo Hernandez and Dani Cabellos.
But Spanish outlet Don Balon claims Chelsea's wing wizard remains determined to make the move to the Bernabeu.
It is said that he was alerted after hearing Real had pulled out of a deal for Monaco hitman Kylian Mbappe. The 18-year-old starred for the Ligue 1 giants last term but now looks set to join their rivals Paris Saint-Germain.
Consequently, Hazard told his agent to ask Real Madrid whether they would be interested in signing his client instead. However, Madrid informed him that they were not expecting any more transfers this summer.
Manager Zinedine Zidane supposedly does not want any reinforcements as Real aim to retain both the La Liga title and the Champions League.
And, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Marco Asensio and Gareth Bale in his ranks, it is not hard to see why. Hazard has also been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks.
However, the Catalan giants have instead decided to shell out £96million on Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele. Hazard has been at Chelsea since arriving from Lille in 2012.
The Belgium international is a key asset for Antonio Conte's side and has helped the Blues win the Premier League twice in the last three years.
