Hello, I'm Regina Stein from Ateliê MariaRê. And in this class we'll learn how to make
this cute bear from start to finish.
This project is already available in the Ateliê MariaRê YouTube channel,
divided in three parts.
In this video, we'll make the whole bear, from start to finish.
MATERIAL
I'll make this bear using three colors of Balloon thread from Pingouin,
3mm-long crochet needle.
I'll need two black beads and black embroidery line.
I'll also need silicone filling.
HEAD AND BODY
I'll start by the bottom part of the body,
through here, I'll work in spiral rows.
I'll start by making a magic ring,
I fasten the thread and, inside this ring, I'll make six single crochets.
I'll close the ring.
I'll start the second row that will only have increases, it'll be six increases,
in the end, I'll have 12 stitches.
I've made the first increase,
I put the marker before it
and keep going.
With the second row done, the next row will also be of increases
with a sequence of one single crochet and an increase
six times, and, in the end, I'll 18 stitches.
I've removed the marker,
I make the first single crochet,
I put again the marker before it and I make the first increase.
I'll keep repeating this sequence until the end.
The next rows, the fourth, fifth and sixth, will also be of increases.
So, in the fourth row, it'll be made a sequence of two single crochet and an increase
six times and, in the end, we'll have 24 stitches.
In the fifth row, the sequence will be of three single crochets and an increase six times,
in the end, we'll have 30 stitches. In the sixth row, the sequence will be of four single crochets
and an increase six times, in the end, we'll have 36 stitches.
I've reached the end of the sixth row, I've 36 stitches. Now, I'll start to make the rows
without increases nor decreases.
From the seventh to the tenth row, I'll work like this, keeping the 36 stitches.
I'll make the first stitch,
I'll put the marker before it again
and keep on working in single crochets
without increasing
nor decreasing. I've finished the tenth row and, now, then, I'll change to the beige thread,
to make the upper part of the body. I'll grab the thread,
lean it here, pass it throudh both handles that were here
and keep on working normally in single crochets,
already with the new thread's color.
I'll work without increases nor decreases with this thread's color.
From this row here, which is the eleventh, to the eighteenth.
I've reached the end of the eighteenth row.
The next rows will be of decreases, so, in the next one, which will be the nineteenth,
I'll make a sequence of four single crochets and a decrease,
I'll repeat this sequence six times and, in the end, I'll have 30 stitches.
So, I remove my marker,
I put it back again after the first stitch,
four single crochets. Remembering the decrease,
I've grabed the first two handles,
I pass it through them both, I pass through two and I'll continue with my sequence until the end.
I've finished the nineteenth row. I'll keep decreasing it
for two more rows and I'll start to fill the bear.
So, in the next one, which will be the twentieth, I'll make a sequence of three single crochets
and a decrease, in the end I'll have 24 stitches.
In the twenty-first, I'll make a sequence of two single crochets and a decrease
six times and, in the end, I'll have 18 stitches.
I've finished the twenty-first row
and the body is already taking shape. I still have a opening big enough,
so I'll start to fill it up.
I'll grab the silicone filling, the silicone fiber,
and I'll start by putting it slowly
so it won't stull the doll.
I'll make this until completely fill it.
I've put enough filling to leave the doll firm,
but not stuffed so that the stitches don't break and the filling doesn't show up below,
this can't happen.
Now, I'll start to completely close this opening.
In the next row, which will be the twenty-second,
I'll make a sequence of a single crochet and a decrease six times,
in the end I'll have 12 stitches
and in the next row, which is the last one, the twenty-third, I'll just make a sequence
of decreases, it'll be six decreses.
I've finished the decreases, the opening got pretty small.
Now, to tie it up.
I make
a slip stitch in the next stitch,
I pull the thread,
I pass the thread through a darning needle
and I'll finish it with it, I'll frown this opening to completely close it.
I'll grab the handles outside all stitches,
this handle here.
Now, just frown it.
I've closed the opening,
I'll pass the thread again
inside the handles
to finish it.
I'll insert the needle here in the edge,
I'll put the thread in any stitch inside the bear,
I tight it.
And it's done, the bear's body is done.
EARS, SNOUT AND TIE
We with a magic ring,
I fasten the thread
this is not a stitch, it doesn't count,
I'll make six single crochets inside this magic ring.
After the six single crochets are done, I'll close the ring
and I'll make the next row just with increases, in the end, I'll have 12 stitches.
I've made the first increase,
I put the marker
before it
and keep making the increases until the end.
I've finished the second row and I've 12 stitches.
The next row will all be made in single crochets, without increasing nor decreasing.
I've finished the third row and I'll tie it up,
by making a slip stitch in the next stitch.
I'll pull my thread and cut it with leftovers. The ear looks like this.
I've already made other one,
now I'll make the snout.
A magic ring.
I'll make six single crochets inside this magic ring.
After this, I'll close the ring.
I'll start the next row which will only be of increases, in the end I'll have 12 stitches.
After finishing the 12 stitches, I'll start the third row,
which will have a sequence of a single crochet and an increase.
This sequence will be repeated six times and, in the end of the row, I'll have 18 stitches.
I've made a single crochet, I put the marker,
an increase
and I'll repeat this until the end of the row. I've finished the 18 stitches of the third row,
I'll cut the thread and pass it again through the stitch.
I put my thread in a darning needle and I'll tie up the snout.
I'll skip the next stitch
and I'll insert my needle in the second stitch of the base.
I go back with the thread in the place that I've left
and I've closed my row,
the snout got pretty round. I'll leave this thread to sew the snout on the body.
Now, we'll make the bear's tail. So, a magic ring
and I'll make six single crochets inside this magic ring.
I close my ring
and I'll start the next row, which will be of increases, just increases.
So, I'll make six increases and, in the end, I'll have 12 stitches.
After finishing the second row, the next ones, from the third to the fifth,
there won't be increases nor decreases, I'll keep these 12 stitches.
I've made the first one, I put the marker
and keep going like thins, in this row and afterwards in the fourth and in the fifth one as well.
I've finished the fifth row,
my tail is already getting round,
I'll tie it up with a slip stitch in the next stitch, I leave this thread here to sew,
I put a little bit of filling in this tail
and it'll look like this.
Now, we'll make the bear's tie.
I'll start by making six chains.
Now, I'll make five single crochets on these chains, starting by the second
chain from the needle, so the first one would be here,
the second one is this one, I'll start here.
First one
and so on.
I've finished the five stitches, I'll make a chain,
I'll turn my work around and I'll make five single crochets in this side.
When I reach the end here, I'll make a chain, I'll turn my work around again
and make five more single crochets. It'll be three rows.
After making the three rows, I'll just pull the thread through here
and cut it with a big thread, a relatively big thread,
I'll pass it through a darning needle, turn my work inside out
and bring this thread
up to half of this piece.
I've brought the thread to the middle and with it here, I'll do five loops around the center
of this rectangle to form the tie.
Thus,
I'll make this five times. I've did five loops,
I'll fasten the thread back here.
I won't cut this thread because I'll use it to sew the tie on the bear.
And I pass the thread through here.
I've tied up the thread and I leave it reserved to sew it on the bear.
ASSEMBLY
I'll position the snout on the body,
notice that I've put the snout above this dark part
and I'll fasten it with pins.
With my darning needle, I'll pin this snout
by making stitches
on the snout
and going to the body.
I go back
to where I've exited
and I'll go forward.
I come back here,
I exit there. I'll keep making these stitches all around it.
Now, I'll grab
this front handle, pass the thread
and tie it up.
I put my needle here,
I leave it anywhere in the body,
I pull it,
sink it,
cut it
and it's done.
Now, let's continue with the complements. I'll embroider the nose and pin the eyes.
Using the black sewing thread, that from the ball, I've folded the thread,
I passed it folded through the needle and I've formed a handle back here.
I'll fasten this thread
back here in the rows junction because here the tail comes afterwars and it'll cover this finish.
So, I pass the thread and I pass it inside the ring, doing so, I won't need
to make a knot. After that, I'll exit with my needle in the front.
Now here, I'll imagine a triangle
and I'll fill this triangle to form the nose.
So, I make the first stitch.
And I make the second one.
With the triangle done, I'll fill it with stitches
until the end.
Done, my nose is filled,
I'll insert my needle down here to form the snout
and I'll exit with it up here when I'll put the eyes.
I'll put the pin
where I want my eyes to be
and I'll exit with my thread up there.
I've exited here,
I'll pass the thread through the bead
and I'll pin the bead.
I exit with it in the other pin and I do the same thing with the other bead.
I've pinned the second bead, but I don't cut the thread.
I'll exit with the thread from here to the place that I'll make the first eyebrow on this side here.
I've marked where I want it to be,
I insert the needle here
I exit there.
I insert the needle
where the second pin is
and I'll exit with it in this side here, where I'll make the second eyebrow in the same way.
After that,
I'll exit with my thread
back there
and I'll tie it up.
As I've said, the tail will cover this finish.
Done, now we'll pin the ears.
I've marked with pins the position that I want it to be,
in the line of the eyebrow here, one, two, three,
around four rows above, this will depend on the ear's size.
So, I'll lean
my ear here,
I'll start from this marking
and I'll make stitches up to there - this here is the inside out -, then, I'll turn
the ear to the right side and I'll do the same thing until the end.
So, I'll keep making stitches
grabbing the ear and the head.
The ear
and the head, until I reach the end.
Here in the end, I make another stitch
to reinforce it,
I turn my work around, notice that these tips are
loose here, so I'll sew over them and fasten the head.
I do this until the end and I finish.
I've finished it, I leave the thread
in any point of the body,
I press it so it will disappear,
then, I cut the tip.
It's gone.
I'll make the same thing in this side. I measure it and I pin the other ear here.
I'll position the tail
in the back of the body,
between the ears,
I'll fasten it with the pin
and I'll sew it
by attaching the body
and the tail.
In the body
and the tail.
I'll do this all around.
I've finished the sew,
I finish it,
I leave the thread
and cut it.
It looks like this,
now we'll pin the tie.
I'll position the tie right below the snout,
I'll fasten with a pin and I'll sew the body
with some stitches.
I'll make these stitches all around it and tie up the thread.
My bear looks like this.
Now I want to make a girl. I'll pick a bear exactly like this up,
I'll put, instead of a tie, a lace
and I'll sew this lace here.
I'll make some stitches.
I'll make some stitches here and tie the thread up.
I finish the thread
and I leave it in any point.
My girl is done.
And she'll be the
boy's partner.
