Billboard's 13th annual Women In Music event will take place December 6 in a return
to New York City and we can now officially announce Ariana Grande as our
2018 Billboard Woman of the Year.
2018 has been huge for Grande as the pop superstar launched top 40 hits like
"God is a Woman," "Breathin'" and "No Tears Left to Cry" onto the Billboard Hot 100,
while seeing her album Sweetener hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and earn the
largest streaming week ever for a pop album by a female artist upon its release.
Grande's remarkable year transcended the charts, as she used her voice to
support worthwhile causes as well. She participated in March For Our Lives in support
of gun control legislation, and has been an outspoken advocate for mental
health awareness, just yesterday tweeting…
Grande also helped to organize the One Love Manchester benefit concert in response
to aid the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing, which was broadcast to
50 countries and raised more than $23 million. With this year's honor, Grande now joins
the likes of past Woman of the Year recipients Selena Gomez, Madonna, Lady Gaga
and Taylor Swift. The ceremony and red-carpet pre-show will be broadcast live on
Twitter from 7 to 10pm eastern on December 6 with additional honorees being announced
in the coming weeks. For more, head to billboard.com and until next time,
