Karius joined Besiktas from Liverpool on loan this summer and signed a two-year deal

Besiktas have an obligation to buy based on a number of appearances and are expected to sign the German permanently

But reports this morning claimed they were going to try and send him back early and take Divock Origi instead

However it is understood that the contract the two clubs signed does not have a clause to allow an early termination

Karius struggled at Liverpool and was replaced as the club's No 1 by Alisson this summer

The German made a double blunder in the Champions League final in May as Liverpool lost to Real Madrid

Karius was devastated in the aftermath and admitted he struggled to sleep for days afterwards

"Haven't really slept until now," he wrote on Twitter in the aftermath of the Kiev nightmare

"The scenes are still running through my head again and again. "I'm infinitely sorry to my teammates, for you fans, and for all the staff

"I know that I messed it up with the two mistakes and let you all down. "As I said I'd just like to turn back the time but that's not possible

"It's even worse as we all felt that we could have beaten Real Madrid and we were in the game for a long time

" Alisson's arrival from Roma consigned Karius to the sidelines before he agreed to join the Turkish side

But Besiktas have struggled this term, winning just half of their Super Lig games and sitting fourth in the table

Karius has conceded 11 goals in his last four games, including four against Genk in the Europa League

Real Madrid news: Crisis deepens as Gareth Bale's agent hits back at astonishing outburst - Duration: 2:59.

Former Real player and manager Jorge Valdano launched an astonishing attack aimed at Bale following Saturday's defeat to their bitter rivals

Speaking after the game in which Bale appeared to lose Barca's Jordi Alba for the opening goal, he said: "He can score the goal of the season any year, and that must be applauded

"But [other players like] Sergio Ramos are consistent throughout the season and have also scored historic goals for Real Madrid

"Bale is one of many players at Madrid who play very freely, he had the job to follow Jordi Alba, and his concentration lasted just seven minutes

"Alba was completely free to set up the first goal. "There are players in the squad who, like Bale, think they are so important they can do whatever they want

That goes against the collective." Barnett leapt to the defence of his client and appeared to stand up for his display

He replied: "It comes from nothing so it is taken as nothing." Real are in something of a crisis after sacking Julen Lopetegui as manager in the aftermath of the Barca defeat

The former Spain head coach was in charge for just 14 games in all competitions and left the club languishing in ninth in La Liga

Real Madrid B manager Santiago Solari has been put in temporary charge but is not seen as a long-term option

Former Chelsea and Juventus boss Antonio Conte was expected to take over full-time

However, reports claim senior players are not keen on the Italian so the club could look elsewhere

Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly another target but he has previously said he is happy in north London

According to reports in Spain, the players are keen to see Zinedine Zidane make a sensational return

Real won an historic three Champions League titles in a row under the Frenchman. However, club president Florentino Perez is said to be less keen on bringing him back just four months after he left, citing "a need for change"

Real Madrid news: Julen Lopetegui issues classy response to Bernabeu sacking - Duration: 3:32.

Lopetegui was axed after the 5-1 thumping at the hands of bitter rivals Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Sunday

The former Spain head coach was in charge for just 14 games in all competitions - and leaves with six wins, two draws and six defeats on his record as Real boss

And despite being given little time to turn things around, he issued a classy response that is sure to resonate with Los Blancos fans

"After the decision taken by the Real Madrid board of directors, I want to thank the club for the opportunity they gave me," Lopetegui said

"Thank you to the players for their effort and their work, as well as to each and every one of the club's employees, for their good treatment during this time

"And, of course my gratitude to the fans for their backing. I send them my best wishes for the rest of the season

" Real chiefs were openly critical of Lopetegui's inability to get the best out of a star-studded team after they sacked him

They claim the decision was made to give whoever comes in to replace him enough time to turn things around

A statement from the club said: "This decision, adopted from the highest level of responsibility, aims to change the dynamics of the first team, when all the objectives of this season are still achievable

"The Board of Directors understands that there is a great disproportion between the quality of the staff of Real Madrid, which has 8 players nominated for the next Golden Ball, something unprecedented in the history of the club, and the results obtained to date

"The club thanks Julen Lopetegui and all his technical team for their effort and work and wishes them the best in their professional career

" Lopetegui has now lost two jobs in the space of just five months. He was sacked by Spain on the eve of the World Cup after he revealed he was set to leave the national team for the Bernabeu once the competition had finished

Real will now begin the process of trying to replace him, with Santiago Solari promoted from Real Madrid B to take charge in the interim

Former Chelsea and Juventus boss was reportedly all set to come in and takeover on a full-time basis

However, reports suggest their interest in the Italian has cooled because senior players are not keen on his style

The Sun claim they will now make a last-ditch attempt to lure Mauricio Pochettino from Tottenham

But the Argentine has previously stated he is happy in north London.
