A news aggregator website isn't just about blindly throwing up content from an RSS feed.

To create a quality WordPress news aggregator website, you'll want to make content sortable,

aggregate a variety of content, use a news-friendly theme and make sure you provide attribution.

So, in this video, I'll show you how to create a website

that meets these conditions and is built for success.

Let's get started!

Assuming that you already have a domain name and hosting, let's move to the step where

you need to choose the WordPress theme.

To build a content aggregator site on WordPress, you will need a solid theme and an RSS plugin

which can import feeds as headlines.

Your theme should be able to display multiple posts on the page.

If we take Neve as an example, you can see that you are able to set different layouts

for the blog page.

The masonry style is just perfect for a news aggregator website because you can choose

between many grid layouts, from 1 to 4-columns.

Enable or disable the masonry style over here, set the length of the excerpt over here and

set the post pagination in this drop-down as number or infinite scroll.

What's totally new over here is that you can rearrange the content of your post by dragging

the excerpt above the thumbnail, and you can rearrange the elements of the metadata too.

More of that, if you want to disable certain portions of data shown on your blog page,

the author for example, just click on the eye over here and that data will be hidden.

Cool, right?

There are more options and helpful settings you will discover in Neve so give it a try.

Its 100% free and you can download it by accessing the link in the description box below.

So, after the WordPress theme is up and running, the next thing you need is to select a plugin

that can help you collect and post the feeds into your articles.

If you want to see how to import RSS Feeds as posts into your WordPress website, check

out the recommended video above, but in this video, I will keep things as simple as possible.

So, just install the FEEDZY RSS feeds lite plugin, which is free, and you are good to go

For WordPress blogs, it is nearly always a case of adding "/feed" to the end of the site's URL.

This is what you'll see.

For any other page, you can look for the RSS feed icon or link, like the one on Huffingtonpost.com, for example.

When you find a feed that interests you, click on it to see a screen similar to this WordPress feed.

The URL of the page will be the feed URL you need for your content aggregator site.

To do that, click on FEEDZY → Feed Categories on your dashboard.

Click on Add Category to get started.

Give the Category a name and paste all of your feeds in the Category Feeds editor.

Once you have entered the URLs, hit publish to get your first category up and ready.

Create more categories from other sources, if you want that, and move forward.

To import RSS feeds into your post and pages, use the Feedzy RSS Feeds block in your WordPress editor.

You can find that block in the Common Blocks tab, over here.

Just click on it and then insert the feed URL you want to import feeds from or simply

type in the slug of your Feed Category.

As soon as you're ready, click Load Feed over here and wait until the content is imported.

Now its time to make some adjustments to make your feed look exactly as you want it.

Let's say you want to hide the feed title.

To do that, disable the "Display feed title?" here, like so, and you will notice that the

title disappears instantly.

Moreover, you can set the number of feeds, feed caching time, sorting order and so on.

In the item options tab, you can set the behavior of the links like so.

Open links in a new tab or in the same tab.

Shrink the title character limit to any number you want, 30 for example and then you can

turn off the "Display post date & author" and "Display post description".

Well, if you turn off the "Display post description" you will end up having only a title in your

feed items which is probably not recommended for posts.

I think that feature will be great in your sidebar, for example, where

you have a much more limited space.

Even so, if you feel that there are too many characters in the description and you want

to reduce their number, use this field and type in 140 for example.

Cool!

Further down, you can upload your own image near each feed or you can use the default

image the plugin comes with.

That is completely up to you and remember that you can also set the thumbnails dimension here.

Finally, in the Advanced tab, you can use additional CSS classes.

Now you can click on Preview to see how your first article with aggregated news looks like.

Cool, right?

If you want to publish that article as it is, come back to the block editor

and click publish over here.

If not, feel free to edit the content, add more feeds or other blocks as well and publish the article

just when you feel ready for it.

Great.

The final step of the WordPress news aggregator website setup is done.

Thanks to WordPress' ease of use, it's easy to create a WordPress news aggregator website.

You won't need to code anything yourself – all you'll need to do is find the RSS

feeds for the websites that you want to aggregate content from.

Chelsea transfer news Future? It is not my decision - It is up to the club and Chelsea Bakayoko says - Duration: 3:16.

Bakayoko joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 having forged a reputation as one of the world's most promising midfielders during his spell at Monaco

But he flopped after being charged with the responsibility of replacing Nemanja Matic at Stamford Bridge and was sent to Milan earlier this year

Milan are understood to have the option to sign Bakayoko from Chelsea on a permanent basis if he sufficiently impresses them

And, having initially struggled at the San Siro, the 24-year-old believes he is approaching top form for Gennaro Gattuso's team

Nothing special happened," Bakayoko told RMC Sport. "I just kept on working. "Maybe I needed a period of adaptation, now it's done, I'm well acclimatised to the championship

There's no secret, you just have to work and be released mentally. "I'm here to help the team, at the moment I'm doing my best but I have not got to my best yet

I can do better, and most importantly, I hope to be able to score my best first goal soon

Bakayoko can aid his chances of becoming a full-time member of Gattuso's squad by replicating the performances he delivered at Monaco

But he says ultimately it is up to AC Milan and Chelsea to determine where he will be playing his football beyond the end of the season

Future? I'm happy here but it's not my decision," Bakayoko added. "It's up to the club and Chelsea

At the end of the season we will talk to understand what to do." Bakayoko will be eager to make his mark when Milan return to action against Sampdoria on January 12

Next up for Chelsea, meanwhile, is Wednesday's Premier League showdown with Southampton

✅ Breaking News - WORLD OF RUGBY END-OF-YEAR SPECIAL: Don't bet against Kiwi three-peat - Duration: 5:57.

The last year has belonged to Ireland, but 2019 is when the big prize is up for grabs

There has been a shift in the balance of power, but it has not been profound enough to sway the bookies

New Zealand remain even-money favourites for the World Cup. The Irish bandwagon is rolling towards Japan with momentum, but the prospects of an All Black 'three-peat' are still strong

Steve Hansen's side are no longer probable champions, but they are more than mere possibles too

Their global conquests in 2011 and 2015 mean the Kiwis possess the big tournament pedigree and know-how

They have ample experience of the demands of the seven-match campaign. Prior to the triumph in their home event in 2011, New Zealand had been derided as chokers

Well, that is a mental hurdle which the Irish must now overcome and as such, they cannot be proclaimed as front-runners to seize the Webb Ellis Cup

Ireland are second in the world rankings and that will suit them just fine. Beating the All Blacks at home in November does not make them champions-elect

Far from it. Joe Schmidt's men and England, Wales, South Africa and all the others pursuing the Kiwi masters know that the holders are the team to beat

Gleeful reports of their demise have been exaggerated. The good news is that a classic tournament is in the offing, principally due to the growing spread of bona fide contenders

As well as the All Blacks, Ireland could win it, as could England. South Africa too, if their revival continues, and Wales also deserve to be in that exalted category

What the World Cup needs is shock results and intrigue during qualification for the knock-out rounds

Hosts Japan can provide that in Pool A, where they could threaten Scotland. The Springboks could turn the whole event upside down if they stun New Zealand on the opening weekend

Elsewhere, England should be capable of topping Pool C, but France and Argentina, in that order, will be dangerous

Pool D is the most fascinating of the lot. Wales can control it but Australia will be wary of Fiji, who beat France in Paris last month, not to mention Georgia

The Fijians, with suitable funding and preparation time, could emerge as standard-bearers for the Tier 2 nations

Six Nations — Wales: Irish success is not a given. On the last weekend, they have to go to Cardiff, where both sides could have a Grand Slam in their sights

But a clean-sweep is unlikely this season. England have to go to Cardiff too, so this column suggests that Wales can finish top of the pile

Premiership title — Saracens (again): The champions have so much class and trophy-gathering credentials

If they can welcome back the Vunipola brothers and keep them fit, this observer's hunch is that they will have too much firepower for Exeter

Premiership relegation — Worcester (perhaps): It seems to be shaping up as a three-team tussle between Bristol, Worcester and Newcastle, although that could change rapidly

They have all claimed major scalps, but find themselves in the danger zone. Worcester are arguably the most vulnerable

European Champions Cup — Leinster: This Ireland team disguised in blue are the cream of the continent and with a home quarter-final likely, there are few clubs capable of denying them a fifth title

There is a special committee working on this and they're due to report in May. Ideas have been discussed and discarded

It needs sorting soon, with an emphasis on avoiding too many repetitive fixtures

Declining attendances is a worry at Test and club level, especially in the Southern Hemisphere

A focus on fair kick-off times would be a good start. The competition is as popular as ever, but too cosy and narrow

Georgia and other rising nations need the hope of entry to fuel development.  It is jarring that the RFU can make millions from Tests at Twickenham but visitors such as the Pacific island teams have to scrape by on a pittance

A new revenue-sharing model is required, in special cases. The sport's most treasured brand is in danger owing to the reluctance to create space for meaningful tours

If the RFU's acting chief executive Nigel Melville can preside over a truce and deal with the English clubs to guarantee fair preparation time before the 2021 trip to South Africa, he will leave a legacy

The game's authorities should bar teams from using alternate kit for commercial purposes purely to boost merchandising sales
