Good morning, good afternoon, good night, where ever you are.

We are at the United States Embassy, my wife Fátima and I.

We are here to say good bye to our friends at the Embassy, the Brazilians and well as the Americans.

And, now, we want to take this moment to say good bye to all Brazilians that we met.

It seems like yesterday that Fátima and I introduced ourselves to you.

My time as Ambassador of the US in Brasil has come to an end.

Two year have flown quickly by, but we depart leaving great friends

and with wonderful memories.

More important, we leave knowing that the relation between Brazil and the United States,

based in shared interests and shared values,

is strong and will continue growing and getting stronger.

Thank you for your hospitality, for the good wishes

and for the support during our time in this beautiful country.

I am taking you and the country with me in my heart, in my spirit.

And now, because I am not alone, I am with my partner.

My wife Fátima, I know I couldn't do what I do without her,

I will ask her, who also want to say farewell to Brazil, to say something.
