Barcelona news: Lionel Messi absence vs Inter proved THIS about Champions League hopes - Duration: 3:25.

That's the verdict of ESPN FC pundit Alejandro Moreno. The Argentine maestro had missed Barca's previous four games with a fractured right arm sustained against Sevilla last month

But he returned to training last week and was with the travelling Barca squad for the trip to Italy, suggesting he was in contention for an early return from injury

The 31-year-old was ultimately left out of the squad with Ernesto Valverde claiming afterwards that the Catalan club did not want to risk their captain at the San Siro

A point was enough for Barca to put themselves into the knockout rounds of the European competition after Malcom's first goal for the club was cancelled out by Inter talisman Mauro Icardi

And despite the frustration of being denied victory late on, Moreno saluted Barca's dominance - having had 65 per-cent possession and completed almost double the amount of passes of Inter without Messi

"They're still there and let's not forget who's not there," Moreno said on ESPN FC, discussing Barca's Champions League credentials this term up against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus

"So Messi is watching from the stands and you're like, 'Man, this is the performance they're putting in

'  "[This was] Against an Inter team that a lot of people fancy this year because their performance in Serie A has been great, Icardi's great, this guy and that guy

"Barcelona went into Milan and were knocking the ball around Inter.  "Had it not been for an afternoon where Luis Suarez was not at his best, this would have been out of hand early on

" Barca were well on top throughout and despite not holding on to the full three points, Valverde was satisfied by his side's showing

He said: "We'll have to secure first place in the next two games. "That was our first objective, but we go home happy

Malcom had great success and we're very happy for him, of course. "There was a moment in the first half when it seemed like the game could become end-to-end and possibly suffer

"We have to read everything very well. We're a team who play close together and find space

Problems can always flare up, but we played well and it was a game that had everything

"The objective is always to pick up three points. We always want the ball and have control of the game

" Messi could return when Barca face Real Betis on Sunday (3.15pm UK time).

Accessibility, Web Performance and Programming Idioms: FrontEnd news (7 Nov'18) - Duration: 6:08.

Hi!

Let's talk today about Accessibility, Web Performance, and Programming Idioms.

I'm Anatol and you are watching the Good Parts of the Frontend development.

If this is your first time here and you wanna learn Frontend and JavaScript, start right

now by subscribing and don't forget to turn on the subtitles.

Let's start today from the Linux Foundation's announce: this October Node.js Foundation

and JS Foundation unveiled the creation of a joint organization aiming to support Node.js

and JavaScript Communities.

That could be important for a steady and healthy growth of the JavaScript ecosystem.

We'll see.

Mariko Kosaka published a nice series of articles, namely: "Inside look at modern web browser".

There you can discover hardware utilization of browser and multi-process architecture,

also about navigation and a little bit about service workers.

You can find this series at Google's Developers portal.

Ivan Akulov presented a recap of web performance titled "Web Performance 101".

This is an easily accessible diagram and code heavy primer to making a site or web app faster

by optimizing assets like JS, CSS, images, and fonts.

For each of these topics there are links to dive deeper.

One more great series of Web Performance has got a name: "Put Your Webpack Bundle On A

Diet".

It consists of three parts and there you can learn how to reduce your JS bundle size by

optimizing the common modules' usage and removing unused parts.

The next point in my list is "5 Tips to Write Better Conditionals in JavaScript" by Jecelyn

Yeen.

Find out how to deal with the conditionals in order to write a better and cleaner code.

For that use Array.includes, Default Function Parameters, Destructuring, etc.

You can read this article at Scotch dot io.

Chrome Developers channel has released a new episode of The State of the Web.

This video tells about Web Fonts and in particular about Google Fonts.

You'll get to know what Google Fonts really is, how to use them effectively, and what's

new.

Welcome the 11th episode of "The Standard" show.

Sam shows you how to play with sound by adding audio tags to certain actions in a page.

Here is another episode of Supercharged.

Surma shows you the influence jQuery had over the web, especially the ability to find elements

with a CSS selector.

HTML Academy posted a free course titled "CSS Animation".

This is an well-thought-out learn-by-example tutorial empowered by gamification in order

to make a learning curve not so steep.

It comes in handy in case you are still not familiar with CSS animations.

In case you have an interest in WebAssemly's post-MVP future, you already might know there's

a misconception about WebAssembly, this idea that the WASM that landed in the MVP was the

final version of WebAssembly.

Lin Clark posted a detailed review of WASM's roadmap.

Have a look.

In the article "Building the Google Photos Web UI" by Antin Harasymiv you can read about

the project team journey to a goal: near-instant loading.

It's always fantastic to get a detailed look under the hood of how some of the web's most

heavily used apps are built.

Next video is an excellent example of how accessibility could be added to the page even

if that was not supposed by design.

In his turn, Nick Babich has posted "7 Basic Rules for Button Design".

In this article, he reviews basic principles you need to know to create effective buttons

and improve the User Experience.

You can find this article on UX Planet.

Please have a look at "Choosing The Right JavaScript Arrow Function: A Guide" by Heydon.

In the world of professional web development this is known as "progress".

Have a fun.

The last point for today: "Programming Idioms".

This is a library of widely used idioms and functions implemented in the different languages,

such as C, Python, Rust and, of course, JavaScript.

Please don't reinvent the wheel.

If you like this video give it "thumbs up", share it with your friends, subscribe to the

channel and watch other episodes.

Thanks for watching and stay curious.
