Waching daily Nov 6 2018

Today we are going to Mai Chau!

Let´s go!

See you very soon!

This place is so beautiful.

The truth is that this is pretty crazy.

I do not know if you can hear the water

but what I can say is that this is one of the most peaceful places I've been to in Vietnam.

This a bonus, today we are going to learn how to make Vietnamese coffee, let´s do it!

First, we should put some coffee into this Phin Vietnamese filter (this is unique from Vietnam)

Secondly, we should give it a little bit of a shake.

Then, place it on top of the cup.

With one of these, we should press a little bit, and finally ...

we should add boiling water.

We can see how the coffee is going through the filter and dripping into the cup .

Slowly, drop by drop

When all the coffee is in the cup, we have the option of adding a little bit of condensed milk.

After drinking this nice Vietnamese coffee

I am going to go exploring!

This is Idiar, a friend who will come with us today. Good morning!

Today we will go hiking with these people.

They are discussing in Vietnamese where they are going to take us today.

Hello!, ¡hola!, hello!

and this is his wife, she is a lovely woman, she always looks very happy.

Let's start now

This is Khoi, hello! He is our guide for today, he is 27.

Interesting piece of information! Youtube in Vietnamese is "youtubiii"

Hello!!

This is how they make these scarfs, the truth is that it is impressive.

This is made of silk, it costs 100,000 VND, which is about three euros (4USD), more or less.

I'm talking with Khoi in Vietnamese

but really. I don´t know how far we can actually understand each other

Have you been to many places in Vietnam?

I´ve been to Sapa, Halong bay, Ho Chi Minh City.

Thuy Duyen

Tu Yen, yeah!

Phu yen (this was the place I meant)

Phu Yen

Very beautiful

Khoi kindly laughs as he listens to my terrible Vietnamese accent.

There are no foreigners there

Ah! There are no foreigners there, haha

Only Vietnamese people

it is boiling here!

Hello little cow!

I am not sure how far you can see it on camera, but there's a house, and some people live in that house, it's impressive how...

people can live in a place like this, in the middle of nowhere.

We have been walking for an hour and a half into the mountain

and you can see how, even here, it is possible to find rice fields.

It is hot! It is so so hot!

We just met a really nice man here, he wanted to invite us to eat lunch with him and his family.

For free, of course, he was not trying to make money or anything.

This is the kind of generous people many travellers talk about when they get back home, and sometimes live in places like this.

wuaaa

Banana trees.

We have been walking for two hours and we are very tired.

The good thing is that we have gone up a lot and the air is much cooler here, which is nice.

Look behind me, the view is awesome!

I'm going to show you a few more images soon, but I can tell you, it is really beautiful here.

Look at this, what a view! This is absolutely fantastic.

If you come to Vietnam, you should not miss the mountains of Mai Chau, it is a really unique experience

and you can see people living in traditional houses in the middle of the mountain,

taking care of their animals, growing rice...

Super friendly people, always smiling.

So, if you come to Vietnam, do not miss it!

Mai Châu is worth the visit, Mai Châu awaits you!

This is a leaf butterfly.

I don't know if you can see it clearly, but it looks just like a dry leaf.

It's so interesting!

I can't carry on, I can't carry on walking, walking, walking, walking

But look at this view.

Yes!!! Bia Tuoi!!

Everybody in Vietnam knows Bia Tuoi.

It is the place where you can drink beer and eat.

I'll order a beer!

Yes! Thank you!

He is an expert serving beer.

thank you!

We are very happy because look at this here, we have beer!

Cheers!

Let's eat, I am going to have fried noodles.

Do they look blurry on camera?

Let's eat.

The dog was getting angry because the chickens were trying to eat its food.

We've just finished eating, all good things come to an end.

And now we will proceed with our adventure.

Let's go

It´s looking at me, come on! Go!

Look at how fast it goes. It's not a cow, it is a buffalo.

It is truly inspiring to see how people live in the mountains

often without hot water or electricity.

A simple life but still happy.

Most people here have food on the table every day, family, social recognition and a profession.

They've got things that many would love to have.

I think it's for these kinds of places that is really worth coming to Vietnam.

Experiencing the nature, looking at the rice fields, mountains, skies...

it's something you can't experience anywhere else in the world

and if you consider how friendly Vietnamese people are

and their ability to welcome foreigners

then, you realise this is one of the best places you can visit in the whole world.

Of course, there are some things to improve in Vietnam, like in any other country.

But even then, I can say, after a year living here, that the friendliness of the Vietnamese people

and the beauty of the landscapes still surprise me.

In addition to their history and culture.

It's really awesome, you have to admit it, you have to come to Vietnam, no excuses.

It is 16:30 now, and we are heading back to our hostel,

and the truth is that, well, it has been tiring and it was really hot, but this hike was 100% worth doing.

Something really cool about Mai Chau is the fact that, even though we have been walking for the whole day, we have not seen any tourists at all.

We have felt that we had this amazing place all to ourselves, which is priceless.

Bye, bye! Well, I am coming back to the homestay to conclude today's adventure. It has been a fun day!

I hope you liked today's video,

that you've enjoyed it.

I don't know why, but people here is starting to become very active,

there are all sorts of activities taking place in front of my hostel.

It is a bit noisy, however, I guess, it is another part of this trip I should accept and embrace?

And also click "like", and tell me, do you think you will come to Vietnam?

and, if so, when do you plan to come?

Of course, if you actually make it let me know, you can send me an email or a message and, if you are around Hanoi, we can grab a drink

and maybe make a little movie?

Best wishes to you!

See you soon!
