Could Arsene Wenger be back in the dugout soon?  The former Arsenal boss admitted last week that he was planning to return to football management by the start of 2019, although he was not sure where it would be

The 69-year-old did admit it was unlikely he would take on another club in England, and reports in France have suggested that he is set for the manager's job at AC Milan

Gennaro Gattuso is currently the manager of the Rossoneri and while Milan have had a reasonable start to their Serie A season, sitting fourth in the table, they are ten points behind runaway leaders Juventus and almost out of the title race already

France Football have reported that Wenger and the San Siro outfit have been in discussions for weeks over replacing Gattuso at the helm

Former Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis left Arsenal to take up a role at the San Siro at the end of October and Gunners fans think there could be an even bigger reunion on the cards than just Gazidis and Wenger

Aaron Ramsey's contract situation has been the subject of much discussion over the past few weeks, with a contract initially on the table for the Welshman, only for it to be rescinded by the club

Ramsey has previously been linked with a move to Milan next summer and some Arsenal fans believe the Wenger news will bring credence to the Welsh midfielder moving to Italy too

Not only that, but some supporters think out of favour Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas, a former Gunner, could also join up with Gazidis and Wenger at the San Siro

Breaking News: Arsene Wenger Finds New Club - Duration: 2:01.

It has been six months since Arsene Wenger left Arsenal after having spent two decades at the North London club

The Frenchman won three Premier League trophies for the gunners and finally called it quits at the end of last season

Arsene Wenger has denied all reports that have claimed that he has retired from football and always says that he hasn't made up his mind on what to do but has stressed in most interviews that he just can't imagine himself being there without coaching a club

It seems the former Arsenal boss is going to get a new club as its been reported by France Football that Arsene Wenger will be appointed as the new manager of AC Milan because the top officials of the Italian club haven't been happy with the performance of Gennaro Gattuso because the club is losing its reputation due to its current bad results

Arsene Wenger has been linked with a number of clubs ever since he confirmed that he was going to leave Arsenal in May but he has however reportedly rejected all of them because he needed space to think on what to do but he has finally decided to return to coaching as the report says that he is in advanced talks with AC Milan

If Arsene Wenger accepts to join AC Milan as their new manager, he will meet up with his former Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis because the Greek-South African international will also be joining the Italian club in December

So let's wait and see how the events unfold as Arsene Wenger looks set to return to club coaching

Arsenal news: Granit Xhaka makes bold Premier League claim after Liverpool draw - Duration: 2:50.

After 20 consecutive top-four finishes, Arsenal have failed to claim a Champions League spot in the last two seasons

It is the club's main objective to return to Europe's elite club competition, whether it be through league position or Europa League success

Unai Emery's side have won all three of their Europa League matches this season, while sitting fifth in the league

They are only one point adrift of north London rivals Tottenham in fourth, however, and the club has rid itself of the toxicity which tarnished Arsene Wenger's last two seasons

A 1-1 draw against Liverpool on the weekend showed that Arsenal have the mettle to trade blows with the league's elite, and Xhaka, who has started every game this season, believes the club can finish in the top four

"Each game we know what we do," the Swiss midfielder said after Arsenal drew 1-1 with Liverpool on Saturday

"We know the opposition well, where they are good and where they are not. "He (Emery) is important

He helps us, not only me but all the players, with the small things.  "The tactical things

You can see that on the pitch. A lot of small things have changed. "We have great character

If you are 1-0 down for example against Liverpool, we come back and it's not the first time

"We knew we would not lose this game because we were so good and showed that character again

"If you see this game, you can see we are ready for the top four." One key feature of Arsenal's recent form has been ball-winning midfielder Lucas Torreira

Speaking of his midfield partner, Xhaka said: "Every game is better and better. "He is so important

He knows when to go and when to stay. He brings good balance between offence and defence

Liverpool news: Man Utd legend Darren Fletcher makes big title claim… leaves out Chelsea - Duration: 2:44.

Both City and Liverpool remain unbeaten after 11 Premier League games this campaign

Chelsea are also yet to taste defeat under Maurizio Sarri in the league and currently sit second in the table

Manchester City remain the favourites with the bookies but many have tipped Liverpool to win their first top-flight title in almost 30 years

Pep Guardiola's City side ran away with the title last season, finishing 19 points above Fletcher's beloved United in second

And the Stoke midfielder admits City are looking good to win it again this term

"Yeah without a doubt, they're the team to beat," Fletcher said on Sky Sports. "If anybody beats Man City, they'll win the league

I think that they are still the best team by far. "I think that they are coming into form now, got more squad depth this season

"It's another season under Pep Guardiola where they've learned and they will be taking more steps forward this season

"So it's going to be very difficult to catch them." Fletcher, who was appearing on Monday Night Football, was then asked by Sky Sports presenter David Jones who he sees as City's nearest challengers

"Is it Liverpool?" Jones said. "It's the worst thing for Manchester United fans at the moment isn't it

" And Fletcher agreed, claiming Liverpool are the only team who could finish above City, despite Chelsea's fine start to the season

"Yeah without a doubt Liverpool are the next closest team," Fletcher continued. "They're in form, they look good, they're off the back of a good season last year, there's a real positivity about the club

"And I think that if Man City didn't do it, unfortunately I think Liverpool will be the team that would be there
