Waching daily Nov 4 2018

Pete Davidson may have gotten off easy on Ariana Grande's new diss track, but he's come under fire from social media for his most recent SNL skit

Davidson drew Twitter's ire on Saturday night after he made fun of Dan Crenshaw, a GOP congressional candidate and former Navy SEAL who lost his eye in Afghanistan

The comedian was making an appearance on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update to give his 'first impressions' of several candidates running in the midterm elections

Davidson eventually got to Crenshaw, first telling the audience 'this guy's kinda cool'

'Come on man,' Michael Che warned, laughing in anticipation of Davidson's joke. 'Hold on,' Davidson continued

'You may be surprised to hear he's a congressional candidate from Texas, and not a hitman in a porno movie

'  'I'm sorry,' he added. 'I know he lost his eye in war or whatever.' Crenshaw was quick to respond to Davidson's skit on Sunday morning

'Good rule in life: I try hard not to offend; I try harder not to be offended,' he wrote on Twitter

'That being said, I hope @nbcsnl recognizes that vets don't deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes

' Davidson received a much harsher response from the National Republican Congressional Committee, which demanded an apology

'Getting dumped by your pop star girlfriend is no excuse for lashing out at a decorated war hero who lost his eye serving our country,' Jack Pandol, the committee's spokesman, said in a statement

'Pete Davidson and NBC should immediately apologize to Dan, and to the millions of veterans and military families who tune in every weekend - because they're not laughing

'. 'Come on SNL, do better,' she added.  Donald Trump Jr retweeted criticism against Davidson, writing that his skit 'sounded more like leftist editorial than anything these days'

Trump Jr's own father has come under fire for the way he has spoken about Gold Star families and veterans, especially John McCain

While campaigning in July 2015, Donald Trump said McCain wasn't a 'war hero because he was captured'

'I like people who weren't captured,' added Trump, who received five deferments during the Vietnam War, including one for 'bone spurs'

.  His right eye was destroyed in the blast and his left eye was badly damaged. Crenshaw wasn't the only politician that Davidson made fun of on Saturday night

The comedian joked that he started paying attention to the midterm elections after he 'had to move back in with my mom', a clear reference to his breakup with Grande

'I realized there are some really gross people running for office this year,' he continued, first joking that Florida Senate candidate Rick Scott looked like 'someone tried to whittle Bruce Willis out of a penis'

He then moved on to New York Rep Peter King, saying he 'looks like a cigar came to life'

King later hit out at Davidson for his joke about Crenshaw, tweeting: 'Disgrace for SNL comedian Pete Davidson to mock GOP Dan Crenshaw for wearing eye patch

' 'What are NBC's standards for firing? PC to insult wounded vets?!? (Davidson also insulted me

Who cares?!)'Davidson also joked that Mike Pence's brother Greg looks like a 'Ken doll that spent a year in the river', while New York Gov Andrew Cuomo 'looks like a guy who's sleeping with your mom, but stays overnight and eats breakfast with you in his boxers'

. 'I look like I make vape juice in a bathtub,' he added. 'I look like a Dr Seuss character went to prison

'   Share this article Share Davidson then spent the last part of his skit to praise his ex, calling Grande a 'wonderful strong person'

'I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world,' he added. 'Go vote on Tuesday

Man Utd news: Juventus ace sends warning ahead of Champions League clash, Pogba claim made - Duration: 3:07.

Juve host United this Wednesday in the Champions League, with both clubs confident of going through to the knockout stage

At Old Trafford two weeks ago, Paulo Dybala's goal won the tie for Juventus 1-0 in Cristiano Ronaldo's homecoming

Now, it is Pogba's turn to go back to his old club, as he plays in Turin for the first time since his world-record transfer to United in 2016

The man attempting to play Pogba out of the game, Pjanic, insisted that the Frenchman is a player to be wary of

"[Pogba is] a great footballer, just like [Nemanja] Matic or [Juan] Mata or Fred," he told Sky Sports Italia

"United is a team of great quality, there are players who can make the difference, so we will have to face them like we did in the first leg

"I think that we had a very good game at Old Trafford, we could have scored a few more goals

"We hope that in Turin we will manage to score more, but we must not forget that Manchester is a great team with a great coach

" Pjanic declared that he wants to win the Champions League, the competition that has evaded Juve for the last 22 years

When Ronaldo signed in the summer, bookies immediately made Juventus one of the favourites for the title

And the Bosnian midfielder said that, whilst there are still a lot of games remaining, he is confident

"It's a game between two great clubs, nothing is taken for granted in the Champions League," he said

"We are part of the group of teams that wants to go deep in the competition to win it, but it's a long journey

" Juventus beat Cagliari on Saturday 3-1, but Pjanic was forced off with 20 minutes to go after suffering an injury

He insisted that there was no need to worry, however. "Everything is okay, I will make sure to be ready for the next game," he said

"It's nothing serious. "I certainly have been a bit tired lately, but I didn't have any pain when I came off and I will be with the team on Wednesday

Real Madrid news: Solari reveals what he told teenager Vinicius Jr before first goal - Duration: 2:14.

The Brazilian star scored the first of Madrid's two goals on Saturday, as the Spanish giants look to rescue their season

Madrid finally snapped a five-match run without a win in the league. This was Solari's second match as Madrid boss, having taken over temporarily following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui

For just the third time this season, Vinicius Jr made a league appearance for the Madrid first team, having spent the majority of the campaign with the Castilla team

Fans have been desperate for a chance to see the teenager in action, as he scored four goals in five matches for Castilla this year

Solari admitted that 18-year-old Vinicius Jr is one to be excited about. However, he was keen to ensure that fans realise he is a member of a big squad and may not play every game

"It's fantastic that people are excited," Solari said. "We can't fight against what goes on outside

"Vinicius has his whole career ahead and judgments will be made in time. "With his virtues and defects, he is one more player in the squad

" Vinicius Jr came on with 20 minutes to go against Valladolid. He made a big impression, as he scored the opener, before causing the defence nightmares as Madrid saw the game out

"I told him to be bold and to take people on, which is what he knows how to do," Solari explained

"I also told him to defend, which he needs to be reminded about."

Liverpool news: Sadio Mane sends message to fans amid contract talks - Duration: 2:36.

Liverpool maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium

James Milner gave Jurgen Klopp's side the lead before Alexandre Lacazette equalised for the Gunners

Both sides had their fair share of chances but lacked a cutting edge in front of goal

Sadio Mane should have celebrated his seventh Premier League goal of the season when he tucked home the rebound after Roberto Firmino hit the post

The linesman wrongly ruled the Senegalese international offside. There was speculation in the summer that Real Madrid were interested in the winger who scored against them in the Champions League final

But last month the club opened negotiations with their No 10 on a new deal, Mane has offered an update on his future

"I am more focused on the games, things like contracts I leave with my agent," he told the Liverpool Echo

"I am happy and concentrating on giving my best for my team-mates, my manager and the fans

" Mane's current deal is set to expire in 2021. The Reds were leapfrogged by Chelsea on goal difference after their win vs Crystal Palace

There may have been a different outcome should Mane's goal have stood. But the 26-year-old refused to criticise officials

"I haven't watched it back and to be honest I'm someone who is not really interested in this kind of thing," Mane said

"If you remember, when I scored a goal against West Ham earlier in the season I was offside and that goal counted

"So if this time I was onside and it didn't count then you just to deal with it and accept it

Officials are human beings and sometimes we all make mistakes."
