Waching daily Nov 3 2018

Mourinho and Martial haven't always seen eye-to-eye, with the Frenchman revealing he wanted to leave United in the summer

However, the Red Devils refused to sell the ex-Monaco ace and Mourinho has now decided Martial is an integral part of his plans

"I hope they will agree," he said. He's a talented player with consistency and understanding what a football match is in the globality

"When you reach that level, or when you are almost reaching that level, is when you become a top player

"One thing is top talent, another is a top player. He is now much closer to being a top player

"Obviously I would like him to stay. "I know the club wants him very much to stay

Hopefully he is going to stay." Mourinho has also backed Marcus Rashford to come through his goal drought, despite admitting the England striker faces unfair pressure because of what he has achieved at the age of just 21

Rashford has scored once in his last eight outings for club and country and Mourinho added: "He has played in the national team, played in the World Cup, played in the Europa League final and has played in two FA Cup finals

"He's having incredible opportunities to develop, which is what he's doing. "The pressure is probably too high

He just turned 21. How many players at 21 had more game time in a big club, for a big country and the national team? "How many players are getting these kind of opportunities to develop their potential? Not many

"From my point of view, a little pressure will help him to achieve what he can achieve

"

Liverpool transfer news: Reds will 'not let' Lyon star Nabil Fekir join Chelsea - report - Duration: 2:51.

Liverpool and Chelsea have both been linked with a move for Fekir, who may yet leave Lyon for the Premier League

The France international came close to moving to Merseyside back in June, only for the Reds to pull the plug on a deal

Since then, Chelsea have soared into contention for Fekir. Express Sport understands the Blues will hold talks with Lyon over a deal for the 24-year-old after their pre-season friendly clash with Lyon tonight

However, Bleacher Report suggest Liverpool may be about to rock their Premier League rivals by swooping in

The Reds scrapped their pursuit of Fekir in June because of fears about the player's long-term history of knee problems

Interest has, though, never really gone away. Jurgen Klopp is aware his side still require a No 10, having lost Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona during the January transfer window

Bleacher Report say Liverpool were still in talks with Lyon over Fekir throughout last month

And they supposedly feel that, despite Jean-Michel Aulas being a tricky negotiator, they could land their man

Liverpool remain locked in talks with Lyon over Fekir and a move to Chelsea is something they will 'surely not let happen

' However, what happens with just two days to go remains to be seen. Fekir still has his heart set on a move to Liverpool and would jump at the chance to join Klopp's entertaining outfit

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Robert Pires last week urged the Reds to stump up the cash and secure Fekir's signature

"Fekir would be a good fit for the Premier League and a great signing for Liverpool," he said

"I don't know why the deal broke down at the medical earlier this summer. "But Fekir is a great player and would be a good signing for Liverpool

" Fekir scored scored 23 goals from 39 outings as Lyon finished third in Ligue 1, behind just Monaco and PSG
