Waching daily Nov 2 2018

Arsenal host Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday evening.   Andre Marriner will take charge of the game and will be assisted by Scott Ledger and Simon Long

Michael Oliver will be the game's fourth official.  The Gunners have an impressive record when the West Midlands official has taken charge of their encounters

In the Premier League, he has presided over 20 victories for the north London side but the last five games has been a mixed bag of results as they have lost three and won two of the matches

They lost against Stoke City, Manchester United and Manchester City but the following two games saw them beat Southampton and Burnley - which was Arsene Wenger's final game at the Emirates Stadium in a resounding 5-0 victory

In the Saints game Mohamed Elneny was shown a straight red by referee Marriner for raising his hands in a confrontation with defender Cedric Soares in stoppage time, but the decision was overturned by the FA and he was wrongly dismissed for violent conduct

Arsenal fans will be hoping this does not happen again on Saturday to any of their stars

The last time Marriner took charge of this Saturday's came in 2011 which ended in dramatic fashion

The game finished 1-1 after the referee awarded two stoppage-time time penalties after both teams played 100 minutes

Robin van Persie stepped up to beat Pepe Reina after Jay Spearing brought down Cesc Fabregas, before Dirk Kuyt slotted the equaliser when Emmanuel Eboue fouled Lucas Leiva

The Reds are unbeaten in their last three outings away to Arsenal and haven't lost to the Gunners in their last six meetings

Unai Emery's men are four points behind Manchester City and Liverpool so will be hoping to close the gap

They will have to be wary of the threat posed by Mohamed Salah who looks back to his best after a slow start to the campaign

Jurgen Klopp has yet to lose against against the N7 side but Emery will be hoping his team can change that after they saw their 11-game streak come to an end against Crystal Palace

Arsenal news: Unai Emery did not sanction Aaron Ramsey decision - big claim - Duration: 2:38.

That is the opinion of Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool star Steve McMahon

Aaron Ramsey is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the current season. The Wales international had an offer on the table but the Gunners withdrew it last month

Ramsey now looks set to leave the club for free next summer, similar to how Jack Wilshere departed earlier this year

Emery has remained coy over Ramsey's situation in recent media briefings and says he wants the 27-year-old to maintain focus on Arsenal

And McMahon believes it would not have been the Spaniard's decision to withdraw the contract offer to Ramsey

"It won't be him who's made that decision," the ex-England international said. "These negotiations have been ongoing, so it would be the powers that be

"He's wanting £200,000-250,000-a-week, 'we're not prepared to give him it'." Ramsey is free to talk to clubs from abroad in January with a view to a move next summer

And McMahon believes Arsenal have left it too long if they now decide they want Ramsey to stay

"Negotiations should have taken place last season," the pundit added. "Not wait until this season because the longer it goes, the player says 'sorry no, I'm going to be offered another £50,000 more' for arguments sake

"If you had started negotiations with two years on his contract, you've got a better chance of signing the player

" Ramsey helped Arsenal beat Blackpool 2-1 in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening

The Gunners face north London rivals Tottenham in the quarter-finals in December

Next in the Premier League is the visit of unbeaten Liverpool this Saturday (5.30pm)

Ramsey is out of contract next summer and he has been linked with a number of top clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool and Juventus

While Liverpool are firmly in the mix for the Premier League title, McMahon thinks Jurgen Klopp is crying out for a player of Ramsey's quality

"Liverpool would do well to get him," McMahon told Sky Sports' The Debate. "He's a midfield player who goes beyond the strikers and Liverpool haven't got that

"When it's a bit of a stalemate, they haven't got someone to go ahead, the third man running, not just to try and get a goal but to take the players away and open the space up

"PSG eye Sanchez deal PSG are keen on a deal for Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez

Sanchez has struggled at United since joining last January from Arsenal. And United are already considering letting him go if they can get a buyer

The Sun report that French giants PSG are keen and could make a move in the summer

However it is claimed they want a bargain deal for the Chile winger, and could even ask for him on a free

A source told the Sun: "There has been some whispers that PSG want to take Alexis off of the club next summer

"It's no secret he has struggled and not lived up to the expectations. He isn't getting any younger and it might never work for him

"There was interest before the club signed him but he preferred staying in England at the time

That may have changed now. "One of their top stars could go and it's not beyond the realms of possibility that a deal could be struck between the two clubs

"Jadon Sancho favourites Manchester United have emerged as favourites to sign Borussia Dortmund sensation Jadon Sancho

His red-hot form with Borussia Dortmund has not only impressed Gareth Southgate though

Wanted: Marc Batra Real Madrid are plotting a stunning swoop for former Barcelona defender Marc Bartra

Bartra, who left Barcelona in 2016, has been ever-present for Real Betis this season, and has started ten games so far

Reports in Spain suggest that Madrid are plotting a move for the 27-year-old in order to strengthen their defence

The Spaniard was involved in the Barcelona youth setup from 2002 onwards, and made his professional debut for the club at 19 years old

He left for Borussia Dortmund in 2016 after having failed to establish himself in a Barcelona team that had Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano in the heart of defence

But a move to Betis followed at the start of this year.Wolves swoop Wolves are interested in signing Liverpool outcast Divock Origi, reports claim

Origi, 23, hasn't played a single minute of competitive action under Jurgen Klopp this season with a rejuvenated Daniel Sturridge ahead of him in the Anfield pecking order

And Nuno Espirito Santo wants to offer him a route back to first-team action. Express and Star claim Wolves want Liverpool to drop their £20m valuation or consider a six-month loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer

Leroy Sane odds Manchester United have been installed as the Premier League favourites to sign Manchester City star Leroy Sane

That's according to bookmakers Ladbrokes, who have Jose Mourinho's side at 7/2/ to bring the German international to Old Trafford

Sane, 22, was an unused substitute for yesterday's 1-0 victory over Tottenham at Wembley, and has started less than half of Manchester City's Premier League fixtures this season

"Sane's struggling for game time at City and while two European giants head the betting for his signature, the latest odds suggest there's every chance he won't have to travel very far at all for his next club," Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said

 Leroy Sane Next Club: Bayern Munich - 3/1, Juventus - 3/1, Manchester United - 7/2, Borussia Dortmund - 4/1, Arsenal - 6/1, Liverpool - 8/1

£11m Miguel Almiron Arsenal could snare Aaron Ramsey's potential replacement for a bargain basement £11m

The Gunners have been eyeing MLS ace Miguel Almiron. But thrifty Unai Emery won't need to burst the bank to secure his services

Maksimenko is enjoying his first season in Spartak's senior setup having made the step up from their feeder club in the summer

Adam Marusic interest Liverpool and Tottenham are monitoring Lazio star Adam Marusic, reports in Italy have suggested

Lazio signed Marusic, 26, from Belgian side Oostende in July 2017 and has first-team displays have earned him plenty of admirers

Calciomercato claim the Premier League heavyweights could launch an offer in January for the versatile right-sided midfielder, who can also play on the left

Borussia Dortmund are also said to have shown interest in Marusic.Nicolas Tagliafico bid Arsenal have intensified their interest in Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico

That's according to Italian website Calciomercato, who are claiming that Arsenal have tabled an £8million offer for the talented left-back

Granit Xhaka is currently being deployed as a makeshift full-back by Unai Emery after injuries to Nacho Monreal, Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles

Calciomercato say that Arsenal have prioritised the signing of a left-back in January, and think they'll be able to lure Tagliafico to the Emirates Stadium

However, Ajax anticipate a bidding war for the 26-year-old which could inflate his modest valuation

Premier League trio Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been linked to Dembele, who is believed to have a desire to play Champions League football

And Ladbrokes believe that the Gunners and Jurgen Klopp's side are joint-favourites at 2/1 to secure his signature

"One club looks set to be handed a huge boost in January and with a whole host of giants queuing up for Dembele's signature, as things stand it looks as though it's a two-horse race between Arsenal and Liverpool," Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said

Reiss Nelson Future Reiss Nelson has opened up on his future at Arsenal. Nelson, 18, has scored four goals in three starts and two substitute appearances for Hoffenheim

And he admits he's enjoying life in Germany but wants to see what Arsenal think before committing his future to staying more than he year he signed for in the summer

"I'm liking the Bundesliga," he said. "There's a lot of top, top defenders that you come across

"It was always going to be a challenge so when I got the offer to come out here I was excited, knowing it was going to be such a big challenge for me

"As a person and as a player, I wanted to take the next step. "At the moment I'm very happy here

I'm playing, I'm scoring, but I'm an Arsenal player at the end of the day, so I have to stay and do my job here, then wherever football takes me I'll go

Man Utd news: Old Trafford chiefs line up shock replacement for David de Gea - Duration: 2:24.

De Gea is currently contracted with Manchester United until next summer, but United have the option to extend it another year

At United, De Gea has been an ever-reliable performer and was named in May as the club's player of the year for an unprecedented fourth time

The Spaniard has been continually linked with a move to Real Madrid, although they brought in Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea last summer, so Florentino Perez may abandon his interest

Juventus have also been keeping close tabs as they seek a quality long-term replacement for Gianluigi Buffon

And now according to The Sun, United chiefs are exploring the option of a deal for Brighton shot-stopper Ryan

The report suggests they have been impressed with the 26-year-old, who still has three and a half years left to run on his contract with the Seagulls

United supposedly reckon he is ready to make the next step in his career and join a top six club

Jose Mourinho suggested last week he has doubts over whether De Gea will stay with the Red Devils

"I am not confident," Mourinho said. "I cannot find the word in English, but let's see what happens

"Only the club, David and his people can answer that. "My comment is only that everyone knows how good he is, how important he is for Manchester United and, if the club want to be better than it is and not worse, obviously it would be very important to keep David

" United travel to face Bournemouth on Saturday (12.30pm). They are currently nine points off table toppers Manchester City in eighth spot

Arsenal news: Paul Merson reveals exactly why Liverpool will hammer Gunners - Duration: 2:23.

The Gunners host the Reds on Saturday night in the Premier League (5:30pm kick off)

Liverpool are unbeaten in the league this season after 10 games, with Liverpool flying under Jurgen Klopp

Arsenal have also impressed under Unai Emery, with the Gunners' 11-game winning streak ending against Crystal Palace last weekend

And Gunners hero Merson reckons Liverpool will hammer Arsenal on Saturday, claiming Emery's back four won't be able to handle the Reds

Merson told Sky Sports: "I can't see anything but a Liverpool win. "I think this is the day Arsenal show some big cracks

"I just think the defence is terrible, all over the place, and no different to what it was before

"If Hector Bellerin is injured, you're talking about Granit Xhaka at left-back, a central midfield player, and Stephan Lichtsteiner at right-back, who has been a good player but is nearly 35 now

"How many 35-year-old's are there in the Premier League? "We saw Leicester rip Arsenal to shreds for 30 minutes; they scored, Harry Maguire missed a sitter, they had a stonewall penalty turned down

"Leicester's front three aren't even in the same class as Liverpool's. "I just cannot see how Arsenal will live with them

"People will say: 'Oh Arsenal will score goals.' but Liverpool's defence has been superb

"I watched Arsenal win 11 games on the trot, and they could have easily lost four of them, let alone drawn them

1-3." A win for Liverpool could send them to the top of the Premier League table
