Or the anthem with his team during Monday Night Football

Yeah

The whole team a different scene that playing out across the very same field you can see there the Arizona Cardinals

What they did was lock arms with members of the military yes?

Grif Jenkins live in our nation's capitol with the growing backlash against the NFL, and how that's doing Grif

Hey, Robyn, Heather. Yeah last night's game

It was quite an unbelievable spectacle

And it suggests certainly that this rift between

The president and the kneelers is far from over

now cowboys owner Jerry Jones locked arms with players and

Took a knee before the national anthem then stood with him as the national anthem was performed now fans booed

But Jones who said players should honor the flag called their move a unity statement Cardinals players as you mentioned across the field

Locking arms with members of the military and president Trump doubling down on criticism of the anthem protests tweeting quote

Tremendous backlash against the NFL and its players for disrespect of our country

Hashtag stand for our anthem this as Steelers offensive tackle in former

Army Ranger

Alejandro Villanueva who stood alone hand of her heart on Sunday as his team remained in the locker room waited on it saying this

In this controversy spreading to the NBA on media day Gregg Popovich coach of the San Antonio Spurs slamming president Trump

Our country is an embarrassment in the world. They got a choice. We can continue to bounce our heads off the wall with his conduct

or

We can decide that the institutions of our country are more important

That people are more important

that the decent America that we all thought we had and want is more important and

Get down to business at the grassroots level and do we have to do

The White House says this is not about race are against anyone, but rather about promoting and respecting the American flag

We're certainly gonna hear more about this in a quick note Robin Heather

Villanueva's Jersey the top seller on fanatics calm mr.. Day

Says a lot so far yeah that works unfortunate

He felt like he had to come out and make that statement though yesterday after what it was had to backtrack yeah

That's always kind of says. There's a lot all right Grif. Thanks. Thank you well former Navy Seal meantime Carl Higby

He says that NFL players are setting a bad example

He is praising the president for valuing patriotism over political correctness

This is not acceptable behavior because people look up to the NFL and you can group together and show unity all you want

But just because there is unity on this topic doesn't make it right this was started by Colin, Kaepernick

He was the architect of this on racial inequality

And that was under a two-term black president with a you know white adopted parents

under two black attorney generals with this NFL force that is 70% black making 30 times what their average white constituent viewer makes

Where's the inequality? I mean, what is the desired end result of this and if it's to devise a divisive argument

This is not this is not something that's gonna bring the country together

Never bet against patriotism President Trump is on the right side of this one. He's gonna come out on top as he usually does

Just a few hours construction will begin on prototypes for president Trump's

long-promised border wall six companies will build a total of eight models

And those will be built just south of San Diego half will be made of concrete the rest will be made of other materials

That's all we know Congress is currently working to pass nearly two billion dollars to begin funding the wall

It appears New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is having a bit of an identity crisis while discussing the need for aid in Puerto Rico

The Democrat and likely presidential candidate in 2020 claimed to be an immigrant

We believe in immigration in New York. We are a state of immigrants. I am an immigrant. I'm wholly against this

anti-immigrant fever that has been stoked during the political campaign

So you see it there I am an immigrant one problem

Cuomo was born in New York City earlier this year Cuomo dared President Trump to deport him over his objection to the White House's

Immigration policy you can't deport somebody that was born in New York check that out there well messages have help written on the rooftop

In Puerto Rico take a look residents there struggling to recover less than a week after Hurricane Maria ripped through that island

Many dealing with power outages limited food limited water Puerto Rico's governor calling on Congress for help

Warning that the u.s.. Territory is on the brink of a quote

Humanitarian crisis several Republican lawmakers are expected to tour the devastation this weekend. It's really horrible

You are out in the Florida Keys

They're beginning to welcome some visitors back this happened on Sunday nearly three weeks ahead of schedule actually

Officials say that the city's economy is heavily dependent on tourism

And this is a vital step to a full recovery over the weekend

we're talking about the first cruise ship since Hurricane Emma returned to the port of Key West bringing over 800 passengers and

600 crew members to that area so they're open for business it's a nice infusion of some much-needed cash the keys yep

Alright, let's go now to Janet's to talk about a little bit of weather, and we still have this hurricane well

It's not a hurricane anymore

Right off Maria just yet, but it is weakening it's on a weakening trend and here's the good news

We are not going to be dealing with it very much longer. We do have the potential for some rip currents high surf beach erosion

especially off of the Outer Banks, but as you can see the worst of the rain and the wind and the storm surge

It's going to remain offshore

We still have some evacuations across the vulnerable areas of the Outer Banks, but otherwise we're gonna watch this storm

Curve out to sea by by Maria by Thursday, we won't be really even talking about it a little bit of a break

But we still have to watch there is the potential for more activity into October

Rob and Heather back to you all right

Okay, Dennis. Thanks so much. Thank you 36 minutes after the hour President Trump putting North Korea on notice and

His on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime

The United States is ready

willing and able

Now leaders of the rogue regimes say the president's words are a declaration of war

Why our next guest says the Pentagon?

Not back off and senior Jordin Sparks taking on the now controversial role of singing the national anthem for Monday Night Football

Her statement inspired by the Bible that you may have missed

Calling president Trump's latest threats a declaration of war

For the white house quickly dismissing that claim

We've not declared war on North Korea and frankly the suggestion of that is absurd

So what does the White House need to do next to tamp down these latest provocations here now to weigh in is

Hudson Institute Fellow and a member of the team that

Actually helped launch a bipartisan missile defense caucus in the house Rebecca Heinrichs. Thank you so much for joining us Rebecca

Good morning

So let's take a look at this tweet in question from President Trump right off the start get you to respond to this he said

Just heard foreign minister of North Korea speak at UN if he echoes thoughts of little Rocketman

They won't be around much longer now they consider that to be a declaration of war. They said as a result

They can shoot down US missiles. They don't even have to be in their airspace

What do you think well first of all you know North Korea the North Koreans make threats all the time?

I mean they said that the the seth rogen intercept movie was an act of war so you know

They say things that are active wars all the time so on the one hand you know you don't want to take it, too

Seriously on the other hand we are talking about a nuclear state at this point so

You know and remember North Korea just launched a missile that flew into Japanese airspace

If that's not an active, or you know it's amazing

They would think that flying b-1 bombers in international airspace over international waters would be of course it is not

So the White House is right to push back forcefully. This is not an active war they're allowed to fly these warplanes in

Over international waters if the North Koreans were so foolish as to try to shoot one of these down

which we don't I don't know if they have the the the aunt the the

Capabilities to even do that and because it's unclear what capabilities they do have but if they were to try it would be a serious

Miscalculation because the United States would obviously respond very forcefully what's scary about this whole thing though

is that while we spend all this time talking trash between the presidents Twitter and and

Whatever North Korea is saying that day or that week

You know their their military is I assume

Gaining strength and they're learning they're figuring this out

I mean they I think the next thing you need to figure out is the reentry on the ballistic nuclear weapons

And then they can actually do something whereas

You know I mean. We've gone through eight years of being super passive with Kim jong-un letting him

Just kind of say whatever he wants and Obama

We're not saying anything really in return and now this these these words

Continue with no action and at some point they're gonna figure this out, and that's what's scary

That's exactly right what the North Koreans have done if they've increased the tempo of their ballistic missile tests

And even whenever they blow up on the launch pad they learn from the failures

They apply what they learned to get the capability. I recently interviewed a

General heightened who's the commander Strategic Command?

Four-star general M. And we talked about this a little bit. He said the only thing that we haven't seen them

Do is actually you know do the full end-to-end test of the missile with the nuclear capability?

and we've seen them do everything else so we need to presume that they could have the capability if they wanted to do it we

Have to take that part of it seriously, but again the trouble ministration

It is

Enforcing this this pressure campaign against the North Koreans the Chinese are now on board with a lot of what the United States is doing

So we are making progress we have to stay the course

Make sure that our allies the South Koreans the Japanese know that we have their back

And continue to squeeze so that we can solve this problem diplomatically without using force now

What's interesting is that with these bombers they flew not only the farthest place north and the Demilitarized Zone

Then evers happened in this century. They also flew without

China where I'm sorry without South Korea or the Chapa knees planes escorting them

So you know we'll see what happens next is definitely is escalating. They got to figure this out

Yeah, that's it's it's given to be a little ridiculous Rebecca. Thank you so much. Thank you

Thank you, so let's bring in Todd pyro right now

He is back here at home in Huntsville, Alabama with a preview of the closely watched primary runoff Todd

Tell us a little bit about this race why it's so critical and what you're hearing down there

Good morning, Robin Heather from Sweet Home, Alabama. You know they say politics make strange bedfellows no pun intended and this

Situation is certainly

That we have Luther strange who is being endorsed by President Trump and Mitch McConnell

interesting bedfellows there then we have

Roy Moore who's being endorsed by the likes of Sarah Palin Steve Bannon Nigel Farage?

So it's a really interesting dynamic here polls have favored more throughout this campaign

But right now. It does appear that that gap is closing where we are right here in Huntsville, Alabama

Really is more country the whole state is really Trump country, but right here is really more country

He was endorsed by mo Brooks remember mo Brooks the congressman from this area was in the race if you recall well

He gave his endorsement to Moore once

He was kicked out of the race and wouldn't you know it where does Donald Trump hold his rally for Luther strange last week

Right here in Huntsville, Alabama, so obviously we are in store for a huge day here in Sweet Home, Alabama

It's gonna be interesting to see who comes out on top really matter who you have backing you. That's a big name, though

What matters are the people that are there actually doing the voting into any feeling of which way they're leaning?

CRISIS LAID BARE?: 'You cannot pick your bloody mates'

The disappointing flop in Indore saw Australia slump to one of its worst ditches in ODI history, making it six one-dayers lost in a row and 11 lost on the trot overseas.

Australia's ploy to drop Matthew Wade and throw Peter Handscomb the wicketkeeping gloves wasn't as successful as hoped — and their batting collapses on the subcontinent only seem to be getting worse, not better.

Another failed experiment in the Aussies' one-day unit was Hilton Cartwright opening the batting.

The young all-rounder made his international 50-over debut in the first game in Chennai and was immediately put in next to David Warner to face the new ball against a lethal home attack.

The 25-year-old scored two runs in two innings and looked out of depth at the top of the order.

Former Aussie fast bowler Rodney Hogg says Australia needs a serious selection shake-up, starting with the captain's role in picking sides. Hogg also took Australia to task for snubbing in-form batsman Travis Head, a proven run-machine against the new ball.

The 23-year-old Head has averaged 57. 33 from three innings at the top of the order, including a big century against Pakistan next to his name. Rodney Hogg has accused Steve Smith of 'picking his mates'. Source:AFP.

"They're picking their mates," Hogg said of Australia's mess on SEN's The Run Home. "Smith shouldn't be a selector.

"(Ashton) Agar's been pushed through and Cartwright's still there. We saw (Nic) Maddinson get selected (he's) a mate, he's one of Steve Smith's mates. You can't pick bloody mates!.

"We've got to get fair dinkum. We're really off the ball a bit here. I think the captain's getting his own way.".

Hogg said a serious review of Australia's selection panel and their decision making process was needed if the Aussies are to improve on their horror form slump.

"All the way down, there's got to be question marks," he said. "All the way across Cricket Australia.". Hogg also used shunned finger-spinner Jon Holland and his glaring omission from Australia's Test tour of Bangladesh as an example.

Controversial spinner Steve O'Keefe was brought in to partner Nathan Lyon for the two-match series, much to the annoyance of a number of Aussie fans.

"Holland has proven he can bowl people out — left-arm orthodox is a really hard gig," Hogg said. "He's proven it and we aren't seeing him.".

Former state wicketkeeper Darren Berry said he was also completely dumbfounded at Steve Smith's spot in the selection hierarchy had to be severely culled after picking NSW teammate Moises Henriques to bat at number four in their Champions Trophy flop.

"I don't think the Australian captain is a selector, he's certainly consulted but it appears the Australian captain is picking the team," he said in June.

"Because no one else would be batting Moises Henriques at number four in the Australian one-day team. "Smith is getting his way and I don't think it was the right call.

WHY LYON ISN'T THE MAN FOR THE JOB. It's the question on the lips of thousands of cricket fans around the country: Where is the GOAT in our time of need?.

Nathan Lyon's stellar form in the subcontinent of late has been stuff of legend. The 29-year-old spinner surpassed Richie Benaud's historic 248-wicket record in the recent Test series against the Tigers, bamboozling the home side on the dusty, spin-friendly tracks of Bangladesh.

His 18-wicket series broke also broke a 130-year record, overtaking JJ Ferris' effort against England in the 1887 Ashes series. So, why isn't he playing in the one-dayers in India?.

Rodney Hogg says the answer is simple — the GOAT just isn't tricky enough to thwart big-hitting batsmen in ODI cricket.

"He's a superstar Test cricketer," Hogg said. "But when he plays (limited overs) he gets a bit slogged, he hasn't got a lot of tricks." Hogg said the answer to Australia's limited overs lay in Jon Holland.

"He's the bloke you've got to be trying," he said.

Not the three-format GOAT.
