Manchester City transfer news: Pep Guardiola set to make £40m offer to bring in Kyle Walker from Tottenham this week
PEP GUARDIOLA is set to make a £40million bid for Kyle Walker this week. The Manchester City boss has Walker, 26, in his sights after lashing out £43m for Monaco playmaker Bernardo Silva on Friday.
PA:Press Association Archive Manchester City are to make their £40m move for Kyle Walker this week. Guardiola is looking at his full-back areas after allowing Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna, Jesus Navas and Gael Clichy to leave on free transfers.
Walker has been a key part of Spurs' title challenges in the last two seasons and has also established himself in the England squad.
But he wanted to consider his options at the end of the season after eight years at White Hart Lane.
Team-mates Danny Rose and Eric Dier are also high on the wanted list of Premier League rivals but Walker may be allowed to leave as Spurs have a replacement in Kieran Trippier.
City are also keeping tabs on Jerome Boateng's situation at Bayern Munich. The German outfit fear Boateng, a former City player, could quit this summer. Guardiola worked with the 28-year-old centre-back when he was in charge at Bayern.
