Second-seeded American Isner notched his second ATP title in as many weeks afer lifting the trophy in Newport last week

Atlanta was the perfect place for him to keep the momentum going

Isner, who has reached the final in seven of eight editions of the tournament, added a fourth title to those he won in 2013, 2014 and 2015

Harrison, seeded fourth, was denied a second career ATP title, to go with his victory in Memphis in February

"There wasn't much that separated us at all," Isner said

"So I'm happy to win that match in straight sets

very happy to win today

"Both players held serve throughout the opening set to force the tiebreaker, in which Isner faced a set-point at 5-6 but saved it with a booming serve

He then converted a set-point of his own at 7-6 with a forehand winner

Harrison ended Isner's run of 75 straight service holds — dating back to last week's Newport tournament — when he broke for a 2-0 lead in the second set

But Isner broke back immediately, and they held serve to another tiebreaker

Harrison made Isner work for it, saving a match point with a forehand winner before giving himself a set-point at 7-6

"We've both got that competitive side where we want to dig in and win," Harrison said

"I think there were times for each of us where things got a little frustrating, but we're really good friends so I really like John as a guy

"His friend Isner responded with an ace, and went on to seal the victory his second match point with a forehand winner up the line

"It was a battle and took every ounce of my energy out there," Isner said

"Just more importantly, I'm so happy to win this tournament again

"With the victory, Isner will move ahead of Jack Sock as the top-ranked US player

"It feels pretty good for sure," he said

"I've been the top American for the better part of six years now, so to be back in that spot is cool

Journalist claims Thomas Lemar to Arsenal is 'done' - SPORTS NEWS - Duration: 2:20.

Journalist claims Thomas Lemar to Arsenal is 'done'

Giulianelli claims via Twitter that Arsenal's move for Monaco winger, Lemar, is complete but the Ligue 1 club are waiting to find his replacement before announcing it.

While this does seem perfectly plausible and Giulianelli isn't the only journalist reporting that the Gunners are at least in ongoing talks with Monaco over bringing the 21-year-old to north London, Giulianelli himself isn't the most reliable source when it comes to Arsenal transfer news.

Back in 2015, he reported that Arsenal had signed Karim Benzema on a four-year deal.

He did get Shkodran Mustafi's medical sort of right considering he claimed there was going to be a medical after the 18 August and the Gunners announced signing the defender on 30 August.

However, the German's move to north London had been the talk of the summer so it looked pretty likely. Plus, even a broken clock's right twice a day, right?.

Sky Sports reporter, Dharmesh Sheth, believes that talks are ongoing between Monaco and Arsenal, and that Arsene Wenger is still really keen on signing Lemar.

The France international scored 14 and assisted 17 last season and, if reports are to be believed, could set Arsenal back up to £60m. Not that said reports believe Wenger will pay that much.

The Gunners are said to have had two bids of £30m and £40m rejected this summer, and have now allegedly gone back in with a £45m offer.

Monaco claim Lemar isn't going anywhere but Sheth believes the Ligue 1 club could be bluffing in order to get more money.

Arsenal suffer transfer setback for Riyad Mahrez - SPORTS NEWS - Duration: 2:31.

Arsenal suffer transfer setback for Riyad Mahrez

Spurs are the only Premier League club not to make a signing during this transfer window so far. But they have made an enquiry for playmaker Riyad Mahrez, who wants to quit the Foxes.

Roma have had two bids rejected and have said that they won't be making a third, leaving the door open for Spurs.

But Arsenal are also keen on the 2016 PFA Player of the Year and they will make a move if Monaco refuse to sell them Thomas Lemar.

Leicester have put a £50million price-tag on Mahrez, who wants to quit the former Premier League champions to play in the Champions League.

He would get that at White Hart Lane, after Spurs finished runners-up last season, but would have to wait to dine at Europes top table with Arsenal.

Mahrez scored 10 goals and provided seven assists as Leicester recovered from a dreadful start to survive the drop last season. The Algerian international released a statement in May declaring that he wants out.

He said: Out of the huge admiration and respect I hold for Leicester I wanted to be totally honest and transparent. I have informed the club that I feel now is the time for me to move on.

I had a good discussion with the chairman last summer and we agreed at that time that I would stay for another year in order to help the club as best as I could following the transition of winning the title and in the Champions League.

Ive had the four best seasons of my career at Leicester and have loved every moment. I feel immense pride to have been a part of what we have achieved during my time at the club, culminating in becoming Premier League champions.

The relationship I share with the club and our amazing fans are something I will treasure forever and I truly hope they will understand and respect my decision.

Arsenal transfer efforts on signing Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City - SPORTS NEWS - Duration: 2:32.

Arsenal transfer efforts on signing Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City

Arsene Wenger should prioritise bringing Riyad Mahrez to Arsenal over any deal for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, according to Alan Smith.

The Gunners signed French striker Alexandre Lacazette for a club-record £52million earlier in the summer and also bolstered Wenger's defensive options with the signing of Sead Kolasinac.

But Arsenal are expected to completed two or three more deals before the window closes, with Thomas Lemar and Mahrez strongly linked with summer moves.

Barkley has also emerged as a potential target after Ronald Koeman confirmed he had played his final game for Everton, but Smith would rather see Mahrez at the Emirates.

Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Leicester and Arsenal striker said: 'I'd say [Wenger should go after] Mahrez more than Barkley. He's more of a match winner and a more mature player.

'I've just come back from Hong Kong watching Liverpool and Leicester in the Asia Trophy, and Mahrez looked sharp. 'Whether he's playing for a move, putting himself in the shop window, I don't know.

'He's definitely a Champions League player, although I know Arsenal aren't in that competition this season!'. Wenger has reportedly made Lemar his priority target this summer but Monaco are standing firm over his future, rejecting a third bid for the playmaker.

The Ligue 1 outfit have sold Tiemoue Bakayoko and Bernardo Silva this summer but vice-president Vadim Vasilyev insists Lemar will be staying put.

He said: 'Fabinho and [Thomas] Lemar are essential players, they will stay with us. We have kept all of the key players we intended to keep.'.

Liverpool FC Transfer News Roundup - 2 Reds loaned, Van Dijk a no-show for Saints? - Duration: 4:14.

Liverpool FC Transfer News Roundup - 2 Reds loaned, Van Dijk a no-show for Saints?

We round up Tuesday's transfer stories affecting Liverpool, as August begins and several rumours continue to refuse to go away.

The Reds have a busy week of pre-season action, with two matches in as many days on Tuesday and Wednesday, against Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid or Napoli.

While you could be forgiven for expecting most of the current talk to be surrounding on-pitch matters, that is not the case at all. Here's the latest transfer news and rumours involving Liverpool. Van Dijk a no-show for Southampton training.

On Monday, our transfer roundup stated that this week would be key in Liverpool's quest for Virgil van Dijk, with the Dutchman set for showdown talks with Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino.

The latest news bodes well for the Reds, with a Saints supporter taking to an online messageboard to say the 26-year-old did not turn up for training on Tuesday.

While this may sound as tenuous as links come, this particular fan, 'Tom28', has been correctly calling things of late. Perhaps we're getting a little over-excited, and Van Dijk actually played a full part in training, but we're allowed to dream!.

Liverpool not interested in Barcelona duo.

As the Philippe Coutinho saga continues to rumble on, flimsy links in Spain have suggested the Reds could sign one of two Barcelona players as part of the deal.

It was reported that either Rafinha or Andre Gomes will be offered to the Reds as part of a deal for Coutinho, but the Liverpool Echo's James Pearce has laughed off these claims.

Pearce states that, "Senior Anfield officials are adamant that there simply isn't a deal to be done for Coutinho this summer", which should fill us with confidence.

Rafinha and Gomes are not seen as key men at Camp Nou, but neither are what Jurgen Klopp is looking for this summer, even if the rumour was true.

Certain reports have also stated that Lionel Messi has told friends Coutinho is joining Barcelona – could the greatest player of all time be telling a lie, perhaps?. Awoniyi and George sent out on loan.

A pair of promising Liverpool youngsters were both sent out on loan on Tuesday, in order to continue their development away from Anfield.

Nigerian youth international Taiwo Awoniyi will ply his trade at Belgian club Mouscron in 2017/18, having yet to make an appearance for the Reds' first-team.

It is the third time Awoniyi has been loaned out, with the 19-year-old forward previously playing for NEC Nijmegen and FSV Frankfurt.

Meanwhile, Shamal George has signed a new long-term deal with Liverpool, but will spend the first-half of the 2017/18 season at Carlisle United. The goalkeeper, also 19, should benefit from regular football at the League Two club, and said of his move:.

"Hopefully I can push on and this loan can do quite a lot for me. Game time is important for me because last year I didn't play much. Game time is the main focus.".
