Lose weight without dieting, quit smoking without cravings - sound too good to be
true? Pensacola hypnotist says she can help. People do both and much more
every day. Julie Nise says, "We only have to change our state of mind to be
free of addictions or habits that hold us back." Channel 3, Kathryn Daniel takes us
for a session. (Hi Pat good morning how are you I'm good you're ready
for some fun. I am. All right come on in. All right.) Pat Paige says she's a sugar
addict. (there we go perfect) Six weeks ago Paige began working with Pensacola therapist
Julie Nise. (Uncross your legs, close your eyes.) Nise is a licensed professional
counselor and a seasoned hypnotist. I looked at it and I said that might be the
way to do this because I want to rethink food and rethink what I'm doing with
food. Nise says hypnosis helps change her clients' state of mind. A person state
of mind controls their thoughts, thoughts dictate behaviors and habits.
Think of hypnosis as nothing more than relaxation, fixation and repetition of
whatever you're hearing. Using a progressive muscle relaxation technique.
So from the tip of your fingers to the top of your shoulders, your arms are
relaxed. Nise guides Paige into a trance. It's a healthy, lovely, wonderful state
to be in, it's just that in hypnosis we use trance
with suggestions. Specific, healthy suggestions depending on what a client
wants to work on. Meditation, prayer and hypnosis, all in your mind,
feel about the same. Very relaxing, very safe, very warm. Nise spends a lot of time
explaining what hypnosis is and is not. Hypnosis is not sleep, hypnosis
is not taking over your mind, hypnosis doesn't mean you're losing control.
Nise has treated thousands of clients over the last decade for a wide range of fears:
needles, frogs, standardized tests and addiction, smoking, alcohol, drugs,
pornography. Nise says people take up and continue their vices for a very specific
reason. Just trying to change how they feel usually to go from stressed to
calm or anxious to relaxed. Paige used to think sugar made her feel good and in
the moment, it did. Through hypnosis, Nise is training her to focus on how sugar
affects her entire body an hour or two later. I never thought of that in the
past. When you put an awareness on your body, specifically your stomach,
everything changes. Paige no longer craves Heath bars and her clothes are looser
without dieting. Nise says for all of us stress and how you respond to it is
almost always the big picture problem. Try to deal with your stress in different
ways, because your stress is really controlling a lot of the decisions you
make. Catherine Daniel, channel 3 news. Nise has been a guest expert on Dr. Phil
several times and has hypnotized professional athletes and competitive
gymnast. Lose that weight you've always wanted to, stop smoking and get rid of
that stress. Call now for your free screening, Bayside Hypnosis - Call now! (850) 347-5700
