F1 news: Bernie Ecclestone reveals why Ferrari cannot keep up with Mercedes That is the damning verdict of former supremo Bernie Ecclestone as Ferrari sit 53 points adrift of their rivals in the World Constructors' Championship standings. Ferrari came into the 2018 campaign with plenty of optimism that and Kimi Raikkonen could get the better of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.

But, while their car has looked faster than Mercedes' at times, they have proved unable to truly compete on race day. Mercedes once again came out on top at Sunday's Russian Grand Prix as Hamilton and Bottas finished in the top two spots. And, speaking ahead of the race in Sochi, Ecclestone revealed why he believes Ferrari are struggling to keep up with the pace. "It's too Italian," Ecclestone told , when asked why he thought Ferrari have underperformed in 2018.

"I said to somebody the other day it's back to the old days." Ecclestone's comment appeared to refer to Ferrari's sorry spell prior to the success enjoyed with Jean Todt, Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne in charge of affairs.     And he believes those figures are the type the Italian manufacturers are currently lacking. "Yes," Ecclestone added, when asked if was referring to the era prior to Todt and Brawn's arrival at.

"Before. "We got Todt to go there and look after things a little bit, so it wasn't Italian too much, and Michael [Schumacher] was running the team. "So it was all a bit different. I think they're missing that sort of a set-up now." Ecclestone also remarked on the contrasting management structures at work at Ferrari and.

"Ferrari have got a completely different way of going on to Mercedes, haven't they," Ecclestone said. "Mercedes has got a team that's pure, all they do is racing, it's nothing to do with the manufacturer. "Ferrari is looking after their car production side of things, gearing that more or less to their Formula 1 performances. So it's run in a different way.".

and it's the one who is dumb enough to pay a bunch of ball tossing ingrates an average of

2.5 million a year to do what most people would gladly do as a hobby throw around a damn ball

Still, that Walter vs. Tyler Bate match was incredible!

Maybe what I need to feel better is an unnecessarily long WWE show.

No, wait that's not right at all.

Headline: WWE Super Show Down Will Be Long

WWE Super Show Down is coming this Saturday from Melbourne, Australia with a stacked card

that includes AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe, The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan, Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte

Flair, The Bellas & Ronda Rousey vs. The Riott Squad - and a supposed "last time ever"

encounter between Triple H and The Undertaker.

And Wrestling Inc have noted that the released schedule for the WWE Network this week has

revealed Super Show Down will be five hours long.

Using the tried and tested method of measuring time, that's the same runtime as two and

a bit Star Wars films.

Not only that but the Network schedule doesn't list a pre-show for Super Show Down, which

means both New Day and the Cruiserweight Championship match will be on the main show for a change.

Headline: WWE Tease Rumoured Crown Jewel Match?

Perhaps the biggest match on the Super Show Down card is that apparently final time ever

battle between Triple H and The Undertaker.

However, there may be a caveat to that "last time ever" tag line in that it's the last

ever singles match between the two.

It was reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer that WWE were working on getting

Shawn Michaels out of his 2010 retirement for a tag team match between DX and The Brothers

of Destruction at WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh next month.

WrestleVotes have also reported this, and added last week that Michaels and Taker could

have another match at either Survivor Series in November or at the Royal Rumble in January.

This rumour gained some ground when Undertaker announced on Raw that HBK will be in Triple

H's corner, while Mayor Glenn Jacobs will be in his - sparking speculation that an angle

will take place to set up the tag match in Saudi Arabia.

And now WWE themselves are starting to tease this tag team match themselves - posting a

picture of the two teams on Instagram asking "who would win this fantasy warfare?"

Headline: Batista WWE Return Revealed

Maybe the Crown Prince also wanted a WWE return for Batista - as he's finally coming back

to Smackdown Live for Smackdown 1000 later this month.

Like Raw 25 earlier this year, Smackdown 1000 will be a celebration of the show's history

- with WWE announcing that Undertaker will return to the blue brand for the first time

since Smackdown's 900th episode, there's rumours that former World Heavyweight Champion

Edge will also be on the show, and there will likely be other surprises to mark 1000 episodes

of Smackdown Live.

And now WWE have confirmed Raw exclusive stable Evolution will be on the show… wait what?

WWE's Twitter account announced that Evolution will be getting back together for one night

at Smackdown 1000 - making it the first time ever the group have been on the show.

But more importantly it sees the WWE return of Batista - who was last seen in the company

back in 2014 during Evolution's feud with The Shield.

Batista has been very open about a possible WWE return, confirming Dave Meltzer's report

on a radio show back in April that he was talking with the company about teaming with

Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania.

He added in that interview that he wanted to do it, but only if they teased a singles

match between Batista and Triple H for Mania next year.

According to Batista, however, WWE "just stopped talking" to him about the match

- which eventually saw Kurt Angle team with Rousey to take on The Authority [24].

Batista also said on Twitter in response to a fan asking if he'll be at the show, "Surprise

surprise!!

I wasn't invited!

And it's in my hometown.!

😳.. guess by now I shouldn't be shocked anymore."

However Rajah are reporting that this was done "just to throw off fans", which could

also be the case for Edge who said he won't be at Smackdown 1000 either.

Arsenal star Petr Cech injury update Unai Emery reveals worrying news on crocked keeper | AFC News - Duration: 2:01.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery admitted he did not know when Petr Cech will be back but estimated

that he will return in two to three weeks time.

The former Chelsea stopper has been Emery's first choice this season so far, despite the

club forking out £20m for Bernd Leno from Leverkusen.

The highly-rated German has been limited to a bit-part role on the bench but he may get

his chance to shine after Cech went off against Watford.

The 36-year-old suffered a hamstring injury against the Hornets in the 2-0 win at the

Emirates yesterday.

It allowed Leno to come on for his first Premier League appearance of his career as the Gunners

marched to a seventh consecutive win.

But Emery admitted that the full extent of the injury has yet to be examined but guessed

at around two to three weeks out.

He said after the match: "I don't know now, tomorrow I know more.

Maybe it's two or three weeks, it's muscular (hamstring)."

And on Leno, the Spaniard added: "He is working very well with the goalkeeping coaches.

"I spoke with him and said the most important thing is when the team needs him to help us,

to be prepared.

"He did that on Wednesday and today also - and against Vorskla."

Arsenal face Qarabag in the Europa League next on Thursday night before coming up against

Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

The north London outfit can then count themselves lucky as more international duty beckons to

break up the season.

The Gunners are then back in action against Leicester on 22 October.

It's a pity. "A question has definitely been raised. I'm not the one to answer because now I'm only a fan, but of course we all expect more from everybody, the players and the staff

 "How long will he stay? It's up to the results. "When you see the team playing this way, any club in the world with this size and this history, you have a lot of pressure and you have to find a solution pretty quickly and I hope they do it

 "But with this team, whatever manager is going to come is going to have the same issue

It's a lot of work for whoever comes. "Zidane? He would want to pick a big team with big players, at Real Madrid he had a team of Galacticos – but it's a different set up at Manchester United
