Liverpool FC news: 'Sign Naby Keita whatever the cost!'

Liverpool supporters have been salivating over the prospect of signing Naby Keita all summer and got their chance to watch him in action on Saturday.

His current club, RB Leipzig, played Sevilla in the Emirates Cup in London and the Guinea international impressed a lot Reds fans, who are desperate to land the midfielder.

The Bundesliga side are refusing to sell Keita, despite Liverpool's willingness to spend around £70million on the midfielder, but it isn't stopping the Anfield faithful dreaming about signing the player.

Olympics: Macron hails 'important step' toward Paris hosting 2024 | Arab News - Duration: 1:21.

PARIS: French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday hailed Los Angeles' announcement that it intends to host the 2028 Olympics as a "very important step" toward Paris hosting the 2024 edition

"France notes the decision of Los Angeles to put forward its candidature for 2028 and to reach an agreement with the IOC and Paris," a statement from Macron's office said

Macron spoke to International Olympic Committee chief Thomas Bach following Los Angeles' announcement on Monday and was "delighted by this very important step toward France obtaining the Games in 2024

" The statement added Macron was "very committed to helping our country's candidacy win" in a contest in which Paris is now the only candidate following Los Angeles' decision

Both Paris and Los Angeles had wanted to host the 2024 Summer Olympics, with the winner to be officially named by the IOC on September 13 in the Peruvian capital Lima

But the possibility that Los Angeles would abandon efforts to host the 2024 Games bid and instead accept to host in 2028 has been growing since the IOC decided in July that it would attempt to announce the host cities of both Games at the Lima meeting

Paris had remained insistent on hosting in 2024, on the 100th anniversary of the city's 1924 Olympics

Liverpool Transfer News: RB Leipzig Coach Quashes Naby Keita Rumours

RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl has said there is no chance Naby Keita leaves the club for Liverpool during the summer in response to persistent rumours linking the Guinea international with the Reds.

On Friday, Dominic King of the Daily Mail reported Liverpool have given up on landing the midfielder, the latest twist in a transfer saga that has been ongoing for weeks.

Per TalkSport, Hasenhuttl was asked about the latest development, and he used the opportunity to emphasise Leipzig do not wish to part with their star. When asked about the rumour, he said:.

The chance (of Keita leaving) is null. Its 100 per cent clear that Naby will play this year in Leipzig.

At the beginning of the transfer period we said we would start with the same team, and of the players we had last year no-one will go.

That would be our answer now also. For us, everyone can see how important Naby Keita is for our game.

Its 100 per cent sure that he will be with RB Leipzig in the Champions League. They will finish their transfer activities and that is okay for me..

He also refused to talk about Keitas contract status, in reponse to yet another rumour.

As shared by Sky Sports Kaveh Solhekol, it is assumed theres some kind of release clause in the players contract that will kick in next summer, although these reports are unconfirmed:.

Hasenhuttl refused to confirm the existence of the clause and warned the Reds they will not be the only one club interested in bringing Keita in next summer.

The 22-year-old was one of the Bundesligas top breakout performers last season, playing a pivotal role in Leipzigs impressive debut campaign. The team finished in second place, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League in the process.

RBs project is an ambitious one, based on the development and retention of talent. In order to continue their success, they cant afford to lose stars like Keita until they are at peak value.
