WWE News - WWE Reports Naomi Injured After Riott Squad Attack
The Riott Squad gave Naomi something of a beating this week, but did the trio actually hurt the former champion for real in the process?.
The five women (plus Paige) that were called up to Raw and SmackDown Live from NXT last week have already made quite the impact on the main roster.
The aptly named Absolution have been running rough shot on Monday nights while their blue brand counterparts The Riott Squad have been doing the same the past two Tuesdays.
This past week on SmackDown Live, Ruby Riott's ladies actually had their first match on the main roster. The invading trio faced off against Natalya, Naomi, and SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair.
Nattie made herself scarce extremely quickly leaving the odds very much in The Riott Squad's favor. They took advantage of that and picked up a resounding win.
Once Natalya had left Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan went to work on incapacitating Naomi while Riott took care of Charlotte in the ring.
Morgan and Logan unleashed one hell of a beating on Naomi with the steel steps playing a starring role.
In fact, WWE has since reported that the leader of the Glow Movement suffered a separated shoulder, cervical strain, and facial contusions during the attack. Whether these injuries are real or not is up for debate.
They don't sound like the kind of injuries WWE would normally pull off the top of their head, but an angle involving Naomi being injured would add a lot of legitimacy to the threat that The Riott Squad poses to the rest of the women's roster.
The injuries have also been reported as news by Bleacher Report, although they were also quick to point out that the reported injuries may very well be a part of the overall storyline.
It can be argued that pro wrestling is at its best when you can't tell the difference between what is real and what is merely a work. The attack on Naomi is a great example of that.
If the former Women's Champion is absolutely fine then it's a great angle to run, but if she is suffering from the injuries mentioned above then Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan might want to ease off whoever is next in line to suffer their wrath.

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News - I'm Oli Davis.
WWE Releases Since October 29th, six wrestlers have been
released from WWE: Emma, Darren Young, Summer Rae, Sawyer Fulton, Leo Gao and James Ellsworth.
And now, after a week of sudden squashes or people turning on their henchmen/tag team
partners, it feels like another slew of WWE releases could be on the way.
Singh Brothers WWE Update Thankfully, after their beatdown from Jinder
Mahal on this week's Smackdown, the Singh Brothers appear to be OK.
Although PWInsider reported there have been backstage discussions about replacing them
as part of Jinder's act, it's expected they'll go to 205 Live or NXT instead of
being released from the company.
And their positions are safe for the immediate future, with them revealing on Twitter that
they're working WWE's live event dates this weekend in South America still very much
with Mahal: "Walking into Peru tonight & reminding you
to throw your Two's up.
🇵🇪 Your future TWO TIME @WWE CHAMPION, The Modern Day MAHARRRRRRRAJA!

Sadly, one person who does appear to have been released, though, is legendary WWE music
composer Jim Johnston - the man behind the entrance music for Stone Cold Steve Austin,
Chris Jericho, The Rock, Randy Orton, Kane, Triple H, Bret Hart, Big Show, Mr. McMahon,
The Undertaker - practically every single one of your favourite wrestler themes from
pre-2011 WWE.
And Stephanie McMahon's.
The news comes from ThemeTitan on Twitter, the self-proclaimed 'original community
of WWE entrance theme fans', first tweeting: Jim Johnston has been released by WWE and
then following up with a longer statement, where they claimed WWE decided "not to renew
his contract that expired today…" and that "this was a forced release as Jim was
very keen to keep working with the company".
ThemeTitan allege Johnston's release "has been the ongoing will of Neil Lawi, John Alicastro
and Michael Lauri for some time…[as] John and Michael wanted to totally overhaul WWE's
musical output and replace all Jim Johnston creations with their own."
John Alicastro and Neil Lawi are the songwriting duo CFO$, who have been with WWE since 2012,
and are behind the entrance themes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe and more.
And we're still not done with the potential WWE releases…
Lio Rush WWE Status Lio Rush officially signed with WWE on August
21st with much fanfare from the independent scene, and he debuted on NXT in October.
But he hasn't wrestled on TV for over a month since, and it seems to be because of
some considerable backstage heat.
When WWE released Emma just days after her two losses to Asuka, Rush angered the locker
room by tweeting: "I guess these are the things that happen
when you're not TRULY ready for Asuka RETROSPECTIVELY APPROPRIATE CLOWN FACE EMOJI
Emma had only lost her job hours before, and the wrestling world roundly criticised him
for making the joke.
Lio reportedly came very close to getting released there and then, but him immediately
deleting the tweet and posting an apology is thought to have saved him from also being
cut.
PWInsider then confirmed that the reason Rush hasn't been seen in NXT since is "exactly
what you think it is - the Emma tweet."
Now Reddit user RichardMagpies has pointed out Rush has removed all WWE and NXT wording
from his Twitter profile, and he also wasn't at Wednesday's NXT tapings for the next
month's worth of TV.
Eva Marie removing WWE references from her social media foreshadowed her eventually leaving
the company, but Karl Anderson recently doing the same never amounted to anything.
A fan on Twitter, however, has revealed Rush is - at least right now - still on the NXT
tours, appearing at last night's live event in Lakeland.
Will we get Cody Rhodes vs Daniel Bryan at a Ring of Honor event next year?

WWE News - Kurt Angle On Which WWE Superstars Turned Him Into A 'Fanboy'
WWE Hall of Famer and Raw general manager Kurt Angle made his in-ring return at last month's TLC pay-per-view event.
He joined up with The Shield (while Roman Reigns was absent with the mumps), and helped them defeat Team Miz in the 3-on-5 match.
It marked Angle's first WWE match in 11 years. A month later, he captained Team Raw to victory over Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.
Despite his age (48), and a string of injuries, Angle received clearance from WWE doctors and has proven that he can still put on great matches.
Angle recently appeared at an event in New Jersey and answered questions about his return at TLC. According to Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose turned the Olympic gold medalist "into a fanboy":.
"I didn't expect that to be my first wrestling match, and with a faction that popular. They're one of the most popular factions of all time, they've done an incredible job.
Ever since they came up from NXT they've been legendary so it was an honor for me. "Mr McMahon thought Kurt Angle would fill that spot. It was awesome, I had a lot of fun that night.
I didn't have to do much in my first match, but it was really cool. When you saw me walk out, you kind of saw the 'fanboy' look on my face.
Seth [Rollins] and Dean [Ambrose] were serious, and here I am, going It was a lot of fun, and it was a complete honor.".
Angle was announced as Reigns' replacement just days before the TLC show. He looked as strong and healthy as ever, performing some great moves in The Shield's victory.
When Angle left the WWE in 2006, it was to take time off and nurse a series of neck injuries he had suffered. Angle was released from his contract and would join TNA in 2006, where he competed for 10 years.
Angle's return has been largely successful for the WWE. Unlike predecessor Mick Foley, the current Raw GM brings excellent microphone skills and is capable of putting on clinical matches, when needed.
Thanks to Ambrose and Rollins, Angle felt like a "fanboy" once again and was able to erase any doubt in regards to his wrestling shape at this stage of his career.
We'll soon see what matches are next for the Olympic gold medalist.

WWE News - Why The Edge & Christian Show Didn't Get A Season 2; Will It Return?
The Edge and Christian Show That Totally Reeks of Awesomeness is among the most popular shows on the WWE Network. But with Edge occupied with filming the show Vikings, there have been questions surrounding the future of the show.
According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, the Rated R Superstar is hoping to continue the show, with the timing and filming location being their primary issues right now.
"If I can somehow cram it in, we'll make it happen. We have a hiatus on Vikings over the summer, so maybe I could squeeze it in there, but I want to spend time with my family, too," Edge said.
He also added that it's simply "a matter of wearing a lot of hats, though he's not sure if his "head is big enough for all of them.".
Edge and Christian's show produced 12 episodes in its first and only season last year. But the former has taken on a role as Ketil Flatnose for Vikings, appearing in three episodes thus far.
The two men also stay busy with their podcast, the Pod of Awesomeness. There, both Edge and Christian discuss their past careers, as well as the current superstars and product of the WWE.
Edge—a seven-time World Heavyweight Champion—retired in 2011 following a series of severe neck injuries. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by none other than Christian in 2012.
Christian last wrestled for the WWE until 2014, choosing to retire for his own safety after battling a number of concussions.
But the two lovable personalities have found major success working together in the podcast and television business, so fans can only hope that Edge and Christian are able to continue their show.
Otherwise, we'll have to settle for the Rated R Superstar dressed up as a Viking, though that's still a fairly nice consolation.

Kurt Angle has had a long and extremely impressive career, but what is the one thing he regrets most from the past 20 years?.
Just a matter of weeks ago both WWE and Kurt Angle shocked the WWE Universe when the Olympic gold medalist competed in a ring for the company for the first time in eleven years.
Even though he was brought back into the fold earlier this year to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and has been the Raw General Manager, it had reached a point where fans just assumed that Vince McMahon and Triple H didn't think Angle should be wrestle anymore.
Thankfully those assumptions turned out to be untrue and at TLC Angle made his in-ring return as an honorary member of The Shield.
That went well, and then the following month Angle captained Team Raw in a winning effort for a traditional Survivor Series ten-man elimination tag match.
The culmination of that match up would suggest that Angle's in ring return isn't over quite yet either. These latest memories and moments are just the latest in so so many across Kurt Angle's career.
He has been wrestling for almost 20 years and during a recent interview with The Wrestling Estate revealed that his biggest regret during those two decades was not taking a break from the business in 2003.
"I would break my neck, have surgery and rush back to get back in action. Six months later, I broke it again.
And then six months later I broke it again," Angle explained. It's what fueled his addiction to painkillers and put a lot of strain on himself, his family and even Vince McMahon.
Kurt Angle has broken his neck so many times over the course of both his amateur and professional wrestling careers that even he may have lost count. His neck was even broken when he won a gold medal.
That's why despite wrestling on the independent circuit shortly before being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, it was understandable that the company were a little cautious when it came to letting him wrestle again.
Regrets aside, Kurt Angle has had an incredible wrestling career, and against all odds, it is not over yet.
He may only be wrestling on an extremely part-time basis, but that is better than never wrestling for them again for both him and the fans.
Here's hoping that the GM wrestles plenty more matches yet for WWE and that they have something big lined up for him at WrestleMania 34.

The WWE has released another member of the organization, but it wasn't a wrestler this time. Instead it was veteran WWE music composer Jim Johnston who had seen his career with the WWE span longer than any wrestler on the roster.
ThemeTitan (a social media account that reports on Johnston and WWE music news) tweeted out this morning that "Jim Johnston has been released by the WWE.
Johnston got his start with World Wrestling Entertainment back in 1985 (when it was the World Wrestling Federation) and over his more than 30 years with the organization he has created the most iconic entrance music that fans have ever heard.
Johnston has been a part of so much WWE history. To put it in some perspective, the man got his start with the WWE before The Undertaker had even started his WrestleMania streak.
And speaking of The Undertaker, it was Johnston who composed The Deadman's theme music – along with the music for Vince McMahon, Ultimate Warrior, Steve Austin and The Rock.
He also composed the music for the movies Legendary, Knucklehead and The Chaperone (all from WWE Studios) and wrote the score for the Hulk Hogan film, No Holds Barred.
You might not know his name, but there is no doubt – given the importance of Superstar's theme music – that, if you have been a wrestling fan for over the last 30 years then Jim Johnston has had a major impact on your experience.

WWE News - Mick Foley Wants To Return To WWE
WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley became the first general manager of Raw for the 2016 draft. But Foley was "fired" by Stephanie McMahon back in March, and replaced with Kurt Angle by Vince McMahon.
In reality, Foley had to take time off after requiring hip surgery in April. He's yet to appear on television since Stephanie McMahon fired him, but Foley did hint at possibly coming back in the future.
Speaking with Bryan Fritz of The Sporting News, Foley talked about his tenure as GM, working with Stephanie and about a possible return:.
"It was pretty agonizing just getting to and from the shows but once I was there, I felt like I made a contribution. I really enjoyed working with Stephanie.
I'm deeply indebted to her for a really beautiful foreword for my book and I hope I get the chance to interact with her some more when I eventually return in some shape because, eventually, we all return.".
Foley sacrificed his body in a handful of matches, pulling off some of the most dangerous stunts in WWE history.
At the 1998 King of the Ring pay-per-view, Undertaker threw Foley (in his Mankind gimmick), off the top of a cell into the announcer's table.
Later in the match, Taker slammed Mankind through the roof of the cage, causing him to crash through and fall into the ring. Foley also lost a tooth and dislocated his shoulder.
With stunts like that, it's no wonder that Foley has fought through pain in his post-wrestling career.
In storyline, Foley was fired by Stephanie McMahon after he stuffed his sock down the throat of Triple H. Foley was ordered to fire a Raw superstar, but refused to do so and unsuccessfully tried firing Stephanie herself.
As Fritz pointed out, Foley could possibly return at the Raw 25th Anniversary special on Jan. Undertaker and Shawn Michaels are a number of wrestling legends who will be appearing at the event.

WWE News - What's next for Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers?
Weve all been intrigued in the recent transformation of Jinder Mahal, whether it be in bewilderment as to what has happened, or in admiration of someone who has transformed themselves and their character to new heights.
Since Jinder Mahals shock WWE Championship win over Randy Orton back in May, and in the lead up to the match, Samir and Sunil -- The Singh Brothers -- have been instrumental in assisting Jinder to the top of the pack and maintaining his championship run.
With the Singh Brothers help, Jinder has run roughshod over Smackdown Live, beating the likes of Randy Orton, Baron Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura.
They have both played huge parts in most of his title matches, with the exception of the Punjabi Prison match in which The Great Khali made a shock return and assisted Mahal with the win.
However this week on Smackdown Live, following recently crowned AJ Styles win over the Singh Brothers in a 2-on-1 Handicap match, Jinder Mahal turned on both Samir and Sunil, hitting both with vicious Khallas finishers.
This poses the big question: what now for Jinder Mahal? We know of his imminent title rematch against AJ Styles at Clash of Champions, however, without his two insurance policies does Jinder stand any chance? It seems odd for WWE to suddenly end the Singh Brothers involvement with Jinder Mahal, especially considering the amount of criticism Jinder has faced as champion and going over clean against Shinsuke Nakamura at Summerslam (an opponent many felt was deserving and due a major title win following his NXT call-up).
The only rationale most can put to the move to split the allegiance is for the Singh Brothers to go on to reform their tag team as demonstrated in the Cruiserweight Classic, Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and 205 Live.
Hopefully, we will see more of the Bollywood Boyz as the exposure and talent of both in-ring and on the mic was somewhat wasted when partnered with Mahal.
As for Mahal, WWE can only hope that the WWE Universe accepts Mahal as a main eventer on his own.
Personally, I feel a mid-card US Title run would now be Mahals best option with the main event scene set for a Styles vs Nakamura Wrestlemania dream match, hopefully equal to their encounter at Wrestle Kingdom 10.
WWE has already planted seeds for this match, with their confrontation at this years Money In The Bank creating one of the loudest pops this era has seen.
Were sure WWE has a solid plan set for both Singh brothers and Jinder, especially with the India tour around the corner. Itll be interesting to see how it pans out over the next few months on television.

But for now they definitely seem to be falling back in love
I cherish people who have really impacted my life
Selena admitted when asked why she left Justin back into her good graces after quite a bit of time apart
So maybe before it could have been forcing something that wasn't right, but that doesn't mean caring for someone ever goes away
