Fast News| Android Beats Windows to Become World's Most Popular Operating System - Duration: 2:07.

Move mover, Microsoft: Google's Android is now the world's most popular operating system (OS).

That's according to web analytics firm StarCounter, which found Android's OS is most popular in terms of Internet usage across desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile combined.

In fact, in March, Android's worldwide market share reached 37.93% — a smidge ahead of Windows and its 37.91% market share.

It's the first time Android has overtaken Microsoft on the OS front, StarCounter said in a Monday report.

"It ... represents a major breakthrough for Android which held just 2.4% of global internet usage share only five years ago," CEO of StarCounter Aodhan Cullen said in a statement.

"It will be difficult for Microsoft to make inroads in mobile but the next paradigm shift might give it the opportunity to regain dominance.

That could be in Augmented Reality, AI, Voice or Continuum (a product that aims to replace a desktop and smartphone with a single Microsoft powered phone)."

The stat trackers at StatCounter have come out with their internet usage numbers for the month of March, and they have, for the first time, reported Android as the world's most popular operating system.

Nudging ahead of the once-untouchable Windows by a tiny fraction, Android is now the world's most-used platform for getting online according to these latest figures.

This represents a natural progression from the difference in devices shipped every year — more than a billion for Android versus 200-something million PCs per year for Windows

but StatCounter is among the first to claim that Android is now in the lead in usage numbers as well.

The trend of mobile internet use taking over from the desktop has been a familiar one for at least the past couple of years.

In developed markets, people have been tempted away from their desks by do-everything smartphones and fast 4G connections

And yet, that's also what makes Android's rise impressive: Google's mobile operating system is accelerating beyond Windows without the help of apps, just via the traditional browser.

President Nowaczyk's E-News Update | April 2017 - Duration: 2:30.

Hello Frostburg State alumni and friends!

I'm fast approaching my first anniversary as your 15th president, and it's been such

a rewarding experience!

This past year has been a period of listening and learning, but also a time of working to

tell Frostburg's story in new ways.

Our strategic planning process has involved listening to more than 1,000 individuals through

surveys and more than 40 focus groups.

I want to thank you for your support in helping us with that.

Six primary themes have emerged, and the task force is continuing its work to refine the plan

that will help direct the priorities of our university.

We hope to present it to the Board of Regents and share it with you this upcoming June.

Our next generation of Bobcats has been gathering at a series of "Bringing the 'Burg to

You" receptions around Maryland.

It's heart-warming to see these new students at the beginning of this exciting journey

in their lives.

We have had alums in the area share their FSU experiences with these future Bobcats.

I've also been Bringing the Burg to our lawmakers by advocating for our university.

Recently, I testified before Maryland House and Senate subcommittees regarding our operating budget

and our proposal for a new academic building, the Education and Health Sciences Center.

This was a good opportunity to let our lawmakers know about the great things happening in Frostburg

and I hope to share more good news soon.

We also held a Frostburg State reception event

in the Senate building in Annapolis.

We were able to celebrate FSU with legislators, alums, and students, including several interns from

the Beall Institute, who are working with state legislators.

I have loved meeting our alumni and hearing your stories about where your particular journey

has taken you.

Hearing stories of your Frostburg days and how FSU has shaped your lives is important to

us as we shape the direction this University will take in the upcoming years.

Watch for invitations by email for opportunities to meet other alumni in your area.

I also would like to take this opportunity to invite you to my inauguration as Frostburg

State University's 15th president.

It will be Friday, April 7th at 2 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall.

The week will also include an art exhibit of student works and a concert featuring our

top student musicians.

Thank you for continuing to be a part of Frostburg State University, and Go Bobcats!

MOTHER BRINGS HER BABY BACK TO LIFE WITH TWO HOURS OF LOVING - Health - Duration: 4:44.

MOTHER BRINGS HER BABY BACK TO LIFE WITH TWO HOURS OF LOVING CUDDLES AFTER DOCTORS PRONOUNCE

HIM DEAD

Kate Ogg gave birth to twins but to her dread, after one of her newborns struggled to breathe,

doctors pronounced him dead.

As she held her new son, she and her husband could not believe what had happened.

Perhaps in a last attempt to say goodbye, or simply by instinct, she unwrapped her baby

and held him against her skin.

Her lifeless son born at 27 weeks weighing 2lb was lovingly held and cuddled as she

expressed her love to him while not wanting to let him go.

Then something amazing happened.

Throughout the next 2 hours, baby Jamie began showing signs of life as something was bringing

him back to life.

Although they had summoned the doctors on occasion to have another look, he insisted

the actions they were seeing were normal reflexes and that the baby was still in fact dead.

As time continued to pass, Kate decided to put some breast milk on her finger and feed

it to her child.

The child took the breast milk and continued to show more signs of life.

The family was witnessing a miracle.

They called the doctor back into the room once more and this time the doctor was in

complete shock as he realized he was witnessing something he could not understand either.

I thought, Oh my God, whats going on, said Mrs Ogg.

A short time later he opened his eyes.

It was a miracle.

Then he held out his hand and grabbed my finger.

He opened his eyes and moved his head from side to side.

The doctor kept shaking his head saying, I dont believe it, I dont believe it.

The power of skin-to-skin contact, also known as kangaroo care, seems to be very evident

in this case.

Generally when a child has complications at birth, they are rushed off to intensive care

right away.

This doesnt allow the mother and her love the opportunity to assist the child in its

early minutes.

While this might seem like magical wishful thinking, we are discovering more and more

through science, the true power of the heart and love.

The kangaroo care technique, named after the way kangaroos hold their young in a pouch

next to their bodies, allows the mother to act as a human incubator to keep babies warm,

stimulated and fed.

Studies have shown that skin-to-skin contact with a mother vs. standard contact, allows

low-weight infants to maintain a higher oxygen saturation after birth.[1] Pre-term and low

birth-weight babies treated with the skin-to-skin method have also been shown to have lower

infection rates, less severe illness, improved sleep patterns and are at reduced risk of

hypothermia.

It is my opinion that as time goes on we are going to continue to observe, understand and

implement, on a large scale, procedures and therapies that better reflect what would happen

naturally within the human body and its environment.

This is not to say there isnt value in standard medical techniques, but simply that

getting rigid with the techniques can often leave out very important human, love and energy

related factors that can be instrumental in any given situation.

I believe that the scientific and medical field can often be too consumed by their methods

at times, not allowing the not-yet-understood factors to have a role in certain decisions.

Efforts to further test them and their efficacy are rarely brought forth.

Too often we can generate a narrow minded view and arrogance about what we know through

science and this can close our minds to what else might be possible.

Much of what we have today is dogma, rather than scientific fact in an industry plagued

by corruption.

But there is still some good.

This of course is not seen throughout the entire field as there are a number of brilliant

scientific minds who are also very open to the power of consciousness

While this story is absolutely amazing, I like to not think of it as a miracle but instead

a lesson.

Experiences like this allow us to see and observe the power of things we dont yet

understand completely so that we can embrace the possibility and begin exploring it further.

This idea that if we cannot touch or see something, then it must not work effectively has to be

let go of if we are going to embrace various methods of not just healing but dealing with

many things in life.

Bizarre 3D images show what aliens might REALLY look like to survive |WEIRD NEWS - Duration: 3:29.

Bizarre 3D images show what aliens might REALLY look like to survive

The images have been created using scientific research of the harsh conditions life would need to withstand on other plants

Scientists have revealed a series of incredible images showing what aliens might really look like. From armoured plates, to translucent skin and claws, the illustrations are a world away from the green, bulging-eyed illustrations of aliens we are used to.

Backed by research of red dwarf solar systems, Dr Brian Choo, from the School of Biological Sciences at Flinders University in Australia, created the images alongside graphic artist Steve Grice.

They paired the conditions in red dwarf solar systems with particular features needed by plants and animals to survive.

In a stunning glimpse at the weird and wonderful shapes, sizes and colours of the creatures, their illustrations and interactive research, published on Sketchfab , depict strange ground-dwelling aliens.

While humanity has developed within the Suns solar system, smaller red dwarf systems may shine a light on what life is like beyond earth.

The images reveal the weird-looking creature .

The stunning 3D images show scientifically-based depictions of life on other worlds. Last week astronomers detected no less than seven Earth-sized worlds orbiting a cool dwarf star known as TRAPPIST-1, located in the constellation Aquarius.

While located in the habitable zone, life forms would develop entirely different from our own.

Dr Choo, a specialist in how species are affected by environmental factors, suggested alien life could need armoured plates and thick skin as protection from harsh sun or winds.

And with the majority of the worlds plants remaining close to the ground and growing between rock and cracks, any creature would need a mouth suitable for gathering such nutrients.

With red dwarfs emitting far less radiation and light than our own sun, some life forms may even develop transparent skin, better at capturing as much light as possible.

Speaking about one armour-skinned creature, Dr Choo said: This odd creature grazes on low growing lichen-like vegetation and digs for buried tubers. The low-slung body and armoured carapace permit it to forage during the blistering windstorms that scour the surface.

The paddle like tail and vestigial fins betray an aquatic larval stage in the cool lakes at the edg of the melting dark-zone glaciers.
