Security in computer science, is your wirless network safe?

Nowadays, Wireless network are used frequently

Because they are comfortable, can be connected simultaneously with many devices

and they are easy to configure, but...

is it safe our personal data when we make this kind of conections?

Well, reality is it isn't

Although it should be almost an obligation,

we will recommend you changing your network's name or SSID

as well as its default password

because they are made with a pattern being easier to decode

It is also very recommended using WPA2 cyphering

with some encryption method such as AES

Moreover, we can add a list of which devices are allowed to enter in our network

using their MAC address of each device

The WPS technology can be really comfortable to surf the net without using any password, just clicking a button

but there are some attacks which are made using this technology, so it is recommended not to use it

Have you thought about the operations we make surfing the net that involves your privacy?

Through Internet we send emails, images, videos...

... we do shopping, use passwords and so on

Is this not important at all?

There exists some sensitive data we don't want to be known

that's why better safe than sorry

There are many more complex security methods we could be able to talk about
