Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse, or to be honest, any weirder, in
the constant, horrible allegations coming out about behavior of those at Fox News, a
new lawsuit, filed by two black women, former employees of Fox News, said that the network
engaged in systemic, and quite frankly disgusting, racist behavior and discrimination.
According to this lawsuit, one manager at Fox News forced a black woman to arm wrestle
one of her white colleagues, while all of the other white men stood around and laughed.
They thought that it was fun, making this black woman humiliate herself, to put on this
little production of arm wrestling, so that they could get a cheap laugh at the black
woman doing what the white man says.
That's what happened, according to this lawsuit.
The lawsuit also alleges, that at the network, black people were consistently overlooked
for promotions, in some cases even demoted from their current position, in favor of white
people, and that this happened with relative frequency.
Additionally, they referred to black men as women beaters, and racial slurs were not uncommon
at the network, according to this lawsuit.
So here's the thing that we have to talk about now.
We have to talk about the behavior, the mindset, the corporate environment, that Fox News has
created.
This is a dangerous place.
Even with Bill O'Reilly gone, you're not free from sexual harassment, cause we know that
Sean Hannity is now being accused of that.
You're not free from racial discrimination.
It's not one host in particular, it is this toxic masculinity, white masculinity, that
is ingrained in this network.
That's what they do, that's who they are, and it comes through on the air quite frequently.
They have no respect for women, for people of color, for Muslims.
All it is, is white male Christians.
Those ... or, pseudo Christians, I should say.
Those are the people that Fox News respects, as long as they vote republican.
But those are the only people within that network that have any kind of privilege, any
kind of security that they can walk into work every day, and not be harassed because of
their gender, or because of their race.
At this point, there needs to be a full scale investigation of everyone at that network,
to find out what in the hell is going on.
Because the stories that are coming out of that network, just in the last few months,
are growing more disgusting by the day.
And this lawsuit proves that.
How many more of these horror stories are we gonna have to hear, before somebody steps
in to protect these employees?
How many more people have to get harassed, whether sexually, or emotionally?
How many more people is it gonna take, before somebody finally steps in and shuts down this
disgusting, misogynistic network, that is providing no benefit to the American public?
Fox News has outlived its time, and at this point, the more we learn about their disgusting
behavior, I think it is past time for the government to step in and go ahead and issue
a corporate death penalty for Fox News, and get them off the air
for good.
