Waching daily Apr 2 2017

Hey guys for Complex News, I'm Natasha Martinez.

The Samsung Galaxy note 7 may be off the hook for freak accidents for the moment.

A man in Alabama nearly died because he fell asleep next to his charging iPhone.

Wiley Day fell asleep with his charging phone next to the bed, a habit that a lot of us

do.

While sleeping his dog tag necklace reportedly slipped between his charger and an extension

cord, making contact with the exposed prongs and sending roughly 110 volts of electricity

through his body.

Just 100 volts is enough to kill someone.

Day's chain became a small conductor for the electric current traveling between the extension

cord and the phone.

The shock threw him from his bed to the floor and shocked him unconscious but was still

able to break the chain from his neck.

Day woke up in shock and noticed smoke emitting from his extension cord.

He had a numbing sensation throughout his body and burn marks on his neck and hands.

His shirt was burned in areas, and his hands also bore burn marks from when he tried to

rip off the electro-charged chain that nearly killed him.

Day was treated for second- and third-degree burns at Huntsville Hospital.

Now that Day is expected to make a full recovery he wants to speak out on the dangers of sleeping

next to your charging phone and hopefully save some lives.

Big Sean Receives the Key to Detroit - Duration: 2:17.

Hey guys for Complex News, I'm Natasha Martinez.

Big Sean has not been shy of his love for Detroit and now the city is showing their

love back.

On Saturday afternoon the 29 year-old rapper was presented the key to the city, making

him the youngest person to ever receive the honor.

Instead of honoring him for his musical efforts though, Sean was granted the key for his Mogul

Prep initiative, which introduced Detroit students to specialized curriculum while also

promoting higher education.

Mayor Mike Duggan presented him the honor, and while speaking to a crowd that included

about 100 kids, he emphasized the rarity of Big Sean getting the keys.

He explained that since he's been Mayor he's only given out two keys, one to Berry Gordy

for Motown: The Musical, and the second to Stevie Wonder when they renamed the street

he grew up in.

You know that Mayor felt so cool saying that last line and handing the keys to Big Sean

as DJ Khaled's 'I Got The Keys' featuring Jay Z and Future started playing.

Sean was equally as excited posting to his Instagram,

"[The Mayor] He honored me and my foundation for motivating the city through my music n

messaging and starting an actual curriculum called "Mogul Prep" that teaches kids all

the behind the scenes jobs available in the music industry and taught to them at a high

school level.

This will be applied to Detroit Public Schools come this fall and some schools in Baltimore

and more.

thanks to my mom for being a teacher n helping w/ this tremendously and our foundation @seanandersonorg."

Sean hosted the first workshop for Mogul Prep on Saturday at Detroit's Fox Theater, hours

before his concert.

He's expected to conduct three more workshops in Maryland, Atlanta, and Miami later this

month.
