North Korea CONFIRMS secret Moscow meeting held amid fears WW3 coming
The hermit country's state media said Choe Son Hui, the director of North American Affairs at North Korea's Foreign Ministry, met Ambassador Oleg Burmistrov on September 29.
He is also said to have talked with Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov about the growing tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
The North Korea report states: "At the talks, they had in-depth exchange of opinions on matters of mutual concern including the Korean peninsula situation and bilateral relationship.
"Choe said that to ease the tension and ensure peace and security in the peninsula and Northeast Asia the US should drop the policy of hostility to the DPRK.". MEETING: North Korea held secret talks in Moscow with Russian officials.
It adds: "The Russian side showed understanding of the DPRK side's stand and expressed its willingness to make concerted efforts to diffuse the tension in the Korean peninsula." The talks are reported to have lasted five hours and more Russian involvement in the crisis is bound to exaggerate war fears in the West – particularly after Putin's troops were spotted near Kim's border.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharov confirmed that officials met but declined to provide any further details.
It comes as US President Donald Trump took to Twitter to reveal he warned the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that it is futile trying to negotiate with Kim Jong-un.
In a flurry of tweets, Trump said Tillerson is "wasting his time trying to negotiate with little rocket man". "Save your energy Rex, we'll do what has to be done," he added.
