Recently, Affinity Health Group in Monroe
held a ribbon cutting at their Oliver Road location.
I spoke with Michael Echols,
Director of Business Development
for Affinity Health Group,
about what this new facility had to offer
to our community.
"This facility encompasses a bunch
of different services, many of those services
centered around families and children.
We do have a new Children & Family Walk-In-Clinic,
which you can drop in without an appointment
any day - we always have a physician on site.
The rest of the facility,
which is some 60,000 plus square feet
encompasses primary care, industrial medicine,
complex care, we have palliative medicine,
as well as case management, wound care,
and numerous other services."
I also talked with Jessica Hendricks,
who is with the Affinity Children & Family Walk-In-Clinic
about why they opened up this clinic.
"We help with taking the overflow
from the Walk-In-Clinic on Broadmoor
to help decrease the wait times.
We're able to give immunizations,
see children and families,
anybody with any walk-in injuries,
we'll be happy to see you!"
Don Dozier is the new Pharmacy Manager
at the second Affinity pharmacy,
located in the Oliver Road complex,
and is excited to see it open.
"We're really excited to be here,
and we've had tremendous success at our
sister store St. John Pharmacy downtown Monroe.
We have both a mail order and retail pharmacy there,
and it's really grown, and so opening a pharmacy here
really gives us an opportunity to offer convenience
and offer a different location to better serve
our customers and our patients in this area of town."
"We invite the public to come on out.
This is one of the newest medical facilities
in mid-city, and we'll have access 7 days a week
in the future, of course, the services -
some of the service lines, lab, x-ray,
also here so we can take care of all your needs
under one roof."
