My name is Kophns. I started painting in 98
Was a graffiti writer until I learned about what mural-ism was, you know and like painting characters and different things, you know bold colors
I'm super excited that
Ram Trucks invited me to paint one of the newest trucks with the style of a very important holiday for me
Which is a Dia la los Muertos, you know when we honor all our past generations
It's exciting to bring that from my
family and and and mix that in with the culture that I feel like my generations created which is the street art graffiti scene you know
I feel like I'm putting a lot of myself into it
Latino culture with what Ram trucks is which is just an American culture
So I'm very excited to bring all these
Materials together spray paint, paint markers, to create this really tough
but cheerful look
Here's 27 different colors, like every single one of my favorite cuz it goes perfectly next to the other, right?
But I mean if you want to see something extra cool, I feel like we should turn these lights off

My name is Airan Sanchez,
and I'm a Biology major
here at De Anza College.
So here behind me is our Campus Center.
Inside the Campus Center,
there's a lot of things that are offered
for students.
You will also find Conference Rooms A and B,
where a lot of events take place.
We have different variety of food
inside our cafeteria.
You can get pizza ... salad ... to a burger.
And as well as a noodle bar ...
which is my favorite place
where I usually get a chicken teriyaki bowl.
Downstairs is where
the College Life department is at,
where students are able to get their student ID,
discount movie tickets
... as well as if you ride the bus,
you'll get your VTA Clipper card
... and students are able to sign up for clubs.
You will also be able to find
the Student Health Services.
Inside there you will be able to get help
if you're feeling sick during the day.
There's always a nurse.
So, yeah ...
overall, there's a lot going on
inside our Campus Center.

If you're ever on campus,
you should come check out
the Planetarium.
It's this big, blue dome.
When you come in here,
you get ...
transported into somewhere else.
You don't even feel like
you're on campus anymore.
[new age percussion music]
When I came in here
for the first time,
It was just mind-boggling ...
how this place was on campus.
And it's just awesome how
it's supported by all this high tech
and you're able to really
feel like you're there.
It's not like you're reading a book
and you're learning, line by line.
But it actually puts you there,
and you're able to see the stars
as they are ...
and the movement.
It's just a really cool program.
And not only do we offer classes here
at the Planetarium,
but we offer tours
to elementary schools,
high schools,
and we have weekly shows.

the Euphrat Art Museum
here at campus.
This space is for
everyone on campus.
You can become creatively inspired
by the space
that we provide here.
It's also a venue for people who
want to express themselves
either through dancing
or different mediums.
So it provides
more than just a room of art,
but an active audience as well.
I personally love the Euphrat
because it gave me the opportunity
to grow as an individual
and to learn about
curating and museum,
and installations.
And it gave me a lot of
good experience,
as an artist and as an art student.

Hello everyone!
My name is
Catherine Miranda
I'm a sophmore
here at De Anza College.
And I'd like to welcome
you all to the
Visual and Performing Arts Center.
[hip-hop music]
So, the first time I ever
walked into the VPAC,
it was for an AAPI conference,
which is Asian American Pacific Islander.
Later on, I had
two students come up to me
and say they remembered me
and that I helped
influence them to come to De Anza ...
and that they're having a good time,
and they've met all these
amazing people.
And having that ...
link,
letting this place
be an area for you
to connect
with other people
who are like you,
and who are not like you,
is maybe
the most important thing
you can get out of
having an education.
Being able to have those relationships,
see the similarities,
and the differences.
And that's something that a stage,
a building,
some place like this
can provide for you.
