This widow demonstrated the appropriate posture for us to come into the Kingdom

of Heaven and to live in the Kingdom of Heaven. The only way we do that is in

surrender. She gave more. They hadn't given themselves to Jesus. She did. She

gave more. In the Matthew account of this the description of the scribes is much

longer. It's actually almost a whole chapter and in it Jesus uses this phrase

and says, "by the way you're acting you're shutting the door to the gospel; to the

Kingdom. If the scribes and their actions are shutting the door to the

kingdom, then this widow with her actions is opening wide the door to the kingdom

for her to walk in. Surrender opens the door to the Kingdom. Knowledge is the key

that opens the door, but the door doesn't open with knowledge alone. The door

to the Kingdom of Heaven only opens with surrender.
