Hello, I'm Maxime Moné!

I'm the co-founder of Poool.

So, what's Poool?

Poool is the solution that allows publishers' marketing teams

to easily create, test and optimize

their monetization and engagement strategies

depending on the readers' profile.

Follow me to discover the team!

Welcome to our place!

To tell you a little bit more about us,

my 3 associates and I created the company 2 years ago.

Since then, a lot of things have changed.

First, we started of

at the Group Sud Ouest's accelerator in Bordeaux.

Then, we closed a fund with Kima Ventures

Xavier Niel's investment fund

and several business angels in the field.

This was when we signed our first clients.

Now, the team has got bigger.

We can count on complementary skills

in UX, design, product and development.

And we keep on recruiting!

We dove in to this adventure because we realized

that more and more publishers were using paywalls

but the experience for readers

and the business generation for publishers were not that effective

so we have tried to understand why.

We noticed 3 key elements.

Firstly, paywalls treat all readers the same way,

whether it is a fly-by reader, a reader with an ad blocker or a fan.

Secondly, the value proposition is binary:

"subscribe" or "leave".

Thirdly, the most important part,

the step between "free" and "premium" is generally too high

for most of readers.

At Poool, we think that communicating to readers in a personalized way

to every type of readers allows publishers to harness

the world of possibilities between "free" and "paid".

To do so, they must build their paywalls

on a reader-based model

and not on a content-based model anymore.

Our solution is composed of 3 main parts:

a first section where you can create segments

depending on the reader's profile

a second one where you can create scenarios and A/B test them

and a third one where you can analyze statistics.

In the New York Times' case,

let's imagine the marketing team wants to A/B test the strategy

of a journey composed of 10 articles versus 5 articles.

Marketers can choose the 10-article scenario,

duplicate it inside the segment

then, very easily, edit it:

the 10-article scenario is turned into a 5-article scenario.

After 5 articles are automatically unlocked,

readers are asked to subscribe to the media.

Of course, texts can also be edited.

as you can see it here.

Let's validate and update the scenario.

I'm now able to select two scenarios in order to A/B test them.

For example, let's keep 90% of readers on scenario A

and put 10% of them on the new scenario I've just created.

Then we'll be able to see which one works best.

We've designed various actions

that can be offered to readers.

These actions go from engagement to monetization

including data collection and subscription.

You simply need to drag-and-drop

actions you want into scenarios.

At Poool, we think that quality information

has to be accessible to all

and fairly remunerated.

That's the reason why during the next months,

we will keep on designing solutions

to develop publishers' business

and offer a simplified user experience

to access and finance the content they love.

If you want to test our product, nothing could be more simple:

UNBOXiNG! On ouvre une boîte de KiwiCo :) - Duration: 9:33.

Hi everyone! Welcome to Maman Simplifiée, today I'm super

to present your a product that

I've already presented to you

For those who don't know,

we are going to

homeschool our kids

So we're starting to get more serious about it

not that we were not before,

but now it's starting for real. We bought activity books,

but there was something missing in my everyday life,

and it was activities, crafts

and things like that.

Because let's say it, Pinterest

is very cool, but

every project we find on it

it needs a lot of motivation,

it's a matter of self discipline, I could

do projects on Pinterest, but I found much simplier

and it's activity boxes

I saw that

"did we receive a new box?"

"No, not yet."

"This one is the one we already did"

So I saw that on Facebook, I saw other companies,

so I decided to explore that.

So I found two

companies that I decided to order from.

One that is named,

well, there are many collections

"they go to the park so, so, so, so ..

nobody was coming today ..."

It's Kiwi Crates,

but there is also

I don't know how well you can see ...

there is also Cricket, Koala, Kiwi,

Doodle and Tinker.

I receive one per child,

this one here is 5+ for Viviane,

and Liam I receive one hum ...

I'll go get it.

See, this one is Koala

this one is 3+.

So I chose this company because

there are a lot of them for example

I went too see Pandacraft there wasn't much

good reviews honestly regarding

their habits with our credit card number

I don't know if it's true but I decided to not risk it.

There is also "Ma boîte Timbrée" which is from Quebec,

but this one was more just paper crafts.

On the other hand with Kiwi Co,

there seemed to be more scientific stuff,

so that's why I chose it.

So we receive

the box, I receive both boxes at the same time

and right now well,

we already did them, so the video you will see

after, we already lived it

But ...

"yes you can eat some"

when we open the box, we receive

I mixed them together, there is always a theme

see Viviane was Secret Agent. I took it also because it was

in english

but if you don't understand english it's still

very easy to follow

there are multiple activities per box

this one is Secret Agent but that's not the one I'm showing you

today. The one I'm presenting to you today

is Liam's,

which was on reptiles. We crafted a

snake with tongues like these,

We built a little chameleon,

and we made a turtle box. So my little boy has his little box

now, we have the snake and

kids having fun

a lot with this. It was really

little interesting activities with a lot of manipulation

especially for my little boy

so let's look at this right now

"We will make just one at a time,

let's open it

but what is it? "Mine!"

Will we make a snake?

"yyeesss"

ok wait a little bit Liam, before getting everything out

what will we do this month?

So let's start by the first

oh no no Liam, don't unglue them

listen, you need to wait. I know

you're eager,

but we need to wait, if we loose parts we won't be able to complete it

Ok, we need

we need a body snake,

snake body, we need that

the pink

this is the body of the snake

"I LOVE PINK"

Transición a la Democracia | Clase 7: "Transiciones en contextos de cambio político" - Duration: 10:06.

TRANSITION TO DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS

LESSON 7

TRANSITIONS IN CONTEXTS OF POLITICAL CHANGE

PROFESSOR JUAN FRANCISCO LOBO

This is the second of three lessons dedicated to the study of compared experiences of political

transition after the Second World War.

In this lesson, we will center upon the experiences of transition towards democracy in contexts

of profound political change.

Firstly, we will mention cases in which a dictatorial regime has given way to a democratic government

without having been politically defeated.

Secondly, we will refer to cases in which a dictatorial regime has been politically defeated

by its democratic opposition.

Lastly, we will allude to the case in which an authoritarian government experiments progressive

relaxation as time passes by.

TRANSITION WITHOUT POLITICAL DEFEAT

In a previous lesson, we mentioned the cases of peaceful transitions occurred in Europe,

in which a dictatorship was succeeded in power by a democratic government.

This occurred, for example, in Portugal in 1976 and in Spain in 1975.

In both cases, the political transition consisted of the peaceful transfer of power, without judgements

and commissions of truth.

Nevertheless, subsequent generations have demanded measures of disclosure of the truth,

as occurred in Spain, where the Historical Memory Law passed in 2007

authorized the exhumation of human remains.

In Latin America, the most prominent case of transition without the defeat of the military regime

is that of Brazil.

This country was governed by a right wing dictatorship following a

coup in 1964.

In 1974, the regime started a policy of "distención", which was succeeded

by a policy of "abertura" until 1985, year in which Brazil returned to democracy.

One of the most prominent particularities of the Brazilian case is its Amnesty Law,

passed by the military dictatorship in 1979.

Unlike other amnesty laws which sought to protect perpetrators of atrocities

from judicial prosecution, Brazil's Amnesty Law consisted of

a political pact which had the main objective of providing "amnesty" for the regime's victims.

It aimed at pardoning all those who committed political crimes against the regime,

freeing them and restoring them to the public positions they were

dismissed from.

This Amnesty Law was reaffirmed by the Constitution of 1988, upon which one

of the world's largest monetary reparations fund for victims of

dictatorial regimes was also established.

Later, in 2010, the Brazilian Supreme Federal Tribunal ratified this norm's

lawfulness, attending its "bilateral" nature or the circumstance of being beneficial for all political sectors.

On the other hand, as to measures for revealing the truth of what occurred, we highlight the report "Brasil:

Nunca mais", issued in 1985 by an ecumenical Brazilian group led by Cardinal

Evaristo Arns.

In 1995, the Law of the Disappeared was passed in order to acknowledge the State's responsibility

in the disappearance of people during the military dictatorship.

Now in the 21st century, after decades of impunity, the Brazilian Public Prosecutor's Office started in 2008

to investigate human rights violations occurred during the dictatorship.

In 2010, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights ruled in the Gomes Lund

case that the Brazilian Amnesty Law is contrary to the American Convention on Human Rights.

This development culminated a National Truth Commission in

2011, which was created during the government of President Lula da Silva, started work in 2012

during the government of President Dilma Roussef and delivered its final report in 2014.

That document revealed the names of hundreds of criminals, and recommended the judiciary

not to extend them the benefit of amnesty.

TRANSITION WITH POLITICAL DEFEAT

There are two prominent cases of transition towards democracy achieved by the military

regimes political defeat in elections, instead of its military defeat:

the cases of Uruguay and Chile, both countries ruled by right wing military dictatorships

as of 1973.

After seven years of murders, torture and forced disappearances in Uruguay, in 1980

the Military Governing Body was defeated in a referendum aimed at the approval of a new Constitution.

From then on, the dictatorship started a process of opening and political negotiation

with the opposition, which culminated with the "Acuerdos del Club Naval" in 1984.

Consequently, presidential elections to return to democracy were held

by the end of 1984.

In 1986, to achieve a swift national reconciliation, the Uruguayan Congress was pressured

by the military to pass the "Ley de Caducidad de la Pretensión Punitiva del Estado",

a euphemistic name for a law of impunity.

This law has been reaffirmed by the Uruguayan people in 1989 and 2009.

On the other hand, the Uruguayan Supreme Court has declared said law's unconstitutional

for particular cases in 2009 and 2011.

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights has declared it contrary to the American Convention on Human Rights

in the Gelman case of 2011.

In Chile, after a frustrated attempt on the life of

dictator Augusto Pinochet in 1986, the opposition understood that democracy could not be regained by force.

After years of arduous political negotiations, a plebiscite finally took place on October

5th, 1988, to consult whether citizens wished the dictatorship to last

8 more years.

The "No" option regarding the prolongation of the regime won, with 55% of the votes.

In 1989, presidential elections were held and the country returned to democracy in 1990,

under the government of President Patricio Aylwin.

The political climate in Chile during the decade of 1990 included great tension in the face of the danger

of a new military coup, who had not been militarily defeated.

We highlight the creation of a National Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 1990,

as well as the National Commission of Political Imprisonment and Torture in 2004.

The Amnesty Law (passed by the dictatorship in 1978) was applied until 1998

by Chilean courts, being currently in disuse in courts.

It has been declared contrary to the American Convention on Human Rights by the Inter-American Court of Human

Rights in the Almonacid case of 2006.

In spite of their differences, what the cases of Uruguay and Chile share is

the restriction that existed in both cases to fully achieve the objectives of

transitional justice, as the new governments has to respect the rules

by which they had won, including the principles of democracy and the Rule of Law,

notwithstanding these may be adapted as time lapses by.

PROGRESSIVE RELAXATION

As was mentioned when speaking of the expansion of the field of Transition towards Democracy, the

monarchic regime in Morocco has experienced a progressive relaxation.

After the "lead years" of harsh repression at the hands of King Hassan II,

his son and successor, King Mohammed VI, created in 1998 an Independent Arbitral Commission

for compensating the victims of State repression.

Also, in 2004, an Equity and Reconciliation Commission was established.

All these measures have contributed to the relaxation of a monarchic regime which continues

to reign.

This situation is similar to the one in South Africa, a country which had free elections after

decades of Apartheid, in which Mr. Nelson Mandela was elected as President.

Spreadsheet 3.0 & Contest win 200$ !! - Duration: 13:00.

Hello crypto fan !

Here I am again in French with english subtitles.

So I will talk about what happened these last days. I did an updated

on my spreadsheet. Visually, nothing happened, I just moved hard cap's column,

to make more sense, beside tokens metrics and I moved

potential investors's column on "Post ICO price vectors". This section affects the price

after the ICO (max Bonus, lockup,

how many potential investors...) these are factors that we know about before the ICO

and will influence the price after the ICO. Why ? For exemple, if there is a huge bonus

the actual price of the token would be an average of all the bonuses, all the prices that were paid

and the volume. Right ? So if there is a big bonus

the actuel price

would be lower than ICO's price, and it can drop

or don't pump as much as expected if there is a FOMO on the project.

Lockup as well

it softened that effect that I just mentioned and potential investors are those who know about the project

and can, potentially, buy the token when it hits the market.

So, what did I change to my spreadsheet ? Basically

I now use a server that calculate and do algorithm

because it was a mess here

Punctuation columns, complicated formulas, which became difficult

to improve so I cleaned up. It took me three days to do it and now it's clean and

I improved some

formulas that calculates punctuation for the different columns of the metric token and that actually affected

and it affected every values in a global way

ranking is still the same

I also wanted to talk about what is going on with Bitcoin.

This is Nucleus Cash's chart

big dump here, it is testing

0.0004 ETH/NCash but let's talk about

Bitcoin

Did you noticed ? Are you experimented or not ?

Experimented investors or not ?

Not experimented in

a legal way, but are you accustomed to invest in

cryptos or not ? But if you don't know,

here you are in a bath full of shark.

When there is a bath full of shark, where people just bought some Bitcoin

when it was $300, and know it is

for exemple $5000 just here

and somehow Bitcoin become trendy, as we saw

by the end of 2017, it looked like

a THING to everyone, business opportunities, released in newspaper

magazines, TV Shows... Many neophytes have begun to arrive in the market

What happened ? Neophytes bought around here,

the price pumped

and then, US guys said "houhouhou, many fishes, what are we going to do ?"

"WE SELL !"

And what happened ? Neophytes who bought when

bitcoin came out in mass media, they are the ones

who bought plates, they paid the diner. And now it's going down. To me...

how to say...

It is interesting when mass media start to talk about cryptos

but you have to be careful about this effect

If you are a neophyte and you want to start in crypto, don't start when everyone

is talking about it. You need to start at the opposite

when media start to criticize cryptos

"don't invest in cryptos, it is a scam", this is when you need to start in cryptos.

There is a small amount of buyer

price would be lower and stable, with no trap

because here this is a trap for neophytes.

That was my comment about what happened at the very end of 2017,

this crash, big one, we came to 5 000€, we were at 15 000€ here

that's 66% of fall, it's huge

and now I have the feeling that we are starting a recovery

we touched a support here

a major one

, a cat bounce here, it rises and I have the feeling that it will continue

during next weeks or at least it will fluctuate in a more armored way than we saw

by the end of 2017. Two major events happened these last days

1/ it is the replacement of Etherdelta as the predominant platform for token sells

before it hits an exchange. During token distribution

we mostly used Etherdelta.

People are still using it but personally I don't.

I have the feeling that IDEX is replacing Etherdelta.

IDEX is a decentralized exchange

a good one, it is what I would have liked to see on Etherdelta but I never saw,

great UX

you can do a buy order in group of buy orders

for exemple you can select multiple sell orders and execute them at the same time...

It is far better than Etherdelta, and I see a major interest for this exchange

and somehow

it can become important

more than it is now.

When people will realize that, IDEX will take a more important place.

It has a Token, named Aura

and

AURA. It is important to estimate if this token

represent an opportunity to invest. I did not yet but I think it is interesting to take a look

and see if it is a good investment to "back" the future success

because I have the feeling that it is the only one

with this features. An other clash in crypto world, MyCrypto vs Myetherwallet

In my last video I talked about Mycrypto in a deceptive way.

I was not OK on how they acted. They where violent, they took

ED's twitter account, changed the logo, put their name on it.

It was not fair, not clean at all, but we have to confess

that most of the team left for Mycrypto

and only one of the founder stayed to ED.

I saw the difference, I do not know if you looked, but the difference is noticeable

between MyCrypto and MyEtherWallet, we see that they changed things.

If we take a look on Mycrypto, they changed UX.

UX changed the most but wee see some bugs that where not there before.

For exemple, here when

do a transaction, when you plug a hardware wallet

there is weird messages that pop in MEW

and make no sense so they fixed it. They are fixing

some troubles from MEW. The rest is still the same, new look,

bug fixing... and I think in the near futur

MyCrypto will become better than MEW. So I am on Mycrypto side.

Safety systems

whitelisted MyCrypto, because

before there were phishing alerts for this website, because we know

what's going on with this open source project

many hackers hacked this open source's system

to make false website to steal cryptos.

Last message

a contest. As you know, I will tell you the story :

As you noticed, my channel is named Sergio, that's my name

and I will tell you why.

Before my channel were named Sergio Garcia, my family name

and I wanted to change that

I was not sure, I had many ideas, I started to change the name

and in fact we can't change more than three times

so it stayed to Sergio, I could not change the name anymore

I had to wait three month to change the name again

and we are now to the moment when I can change the name again

so it is a good time to ask to my community who follow me

how do you want to call my channel ? BoxMining, OhHeyMatty are some channel's name...

So how do you want to name my channel ?

I will set a contest, with a form (link in description)

so you can make a proposal

You can also send a logo if you want to, or you can just give a name

and I will give ethers to the one who proposed a name that I like the most.

The one who gave THE good name, THE best idea.

I will give $200 in ethereum to the one who gave the best name.

Contest is starting now

I will wait for ten days to have answers, I will

share the form in this group and others.

Thanks for watching this video that I did today

to talk about these ideas, this news that happened

I hope you will keep following, I will do AMA,

live interviews with a chat

where you will be able to ask question. I will take a look on really good project

Origin Protocol, Cardstack, Endor

In my Twitter account

I started a poll, and for now there is 48 votes, and this is Origin Protocol

which is winning

I will wait a little longer

but if it keeps going like this, I will reach origin protocol's team and ask for an interview and you will be able to ask questions in live.

If you have particular questions

you can let a comment to the poll

send me an e-mail, or in my telegram group

(every links in description). Thanks for watching and see you next time !
