Waching daily Jul 31 2017

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News! I'm Oli Davis.

Illegitimate Autograph Several weeks ago, Kurt Angle celebrated his

5th wedding anniversary, thanking his "5 beautiful children" for his cake on Instagram.

Problem is, he's got six kids now - ever since Jason Jordan was revealed as Angle's

illegitimate son. You're exposing the business, Kurt.

Thankfully Jordan hasn't inherited his father's blatant disregard for kayfabe, as reddit user

ryeinc recently revealed - getting an autograph from the man, who signed it as 'Jason Jordan

Angle'. I'm glad you're owning this gimmick, Jordan.

Because you're stuck with it. Forever. CM Punk In Wrestling Return Talks

'Forever' is a pretty definitive statement, though - and a time period wrestlers don't

often stick to. I'm looking at you Terry Funk. So Ring of Honor COO Joe Koff's recent

comments to WrestleZone Daily makes for some very intriguing listening.

A considerable portion of WWE's main event scene right now can be traced back to Ring

of Honor about a decade ago: Seth Rollins was Tyler Black, Daniel Bryan was Bryan Danielson,

Samoa Joe was...still Samoa Joe. You try telling him he's getting a new name [IMAGE]. But

those guys arguably wouldn't be so prominently featured in WWE if it wasn't for the man

who paved their way: the once-called King of the Indys CM Punk.

Punk wrestled for Ring of Honor from 2002 to 2006, where he was a one-time ROH World

Champion. A period he loved so much, he even referenced them during his infamous pipebomb

in WWE: "I'm leaving with the WWE Championship

on July 17th. And hell, who knows, maybe I'll go defend it in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Maybe…I'll

go back to Ring of Honor." With Punk leaving WWE in 2014 and not having

wrestled since, WrestleZone Daily asked ROH's COO if they'd approached him about an in-ring

return: "CM Punk, if you're listening or reading,

I hope you are, you are always welcome in our house. You know that. He knows that. We've

had conversations in the past through people. He knows that there is a welcome sign for

him...I haven't spoken to him personally and I think it's through intermediaries

or whatever. I think his first goal was to be involved in his MMA stuff…"

So Punk has at least had contact with ROH about a return to the promotion.

Punk remains under contract to the UFC, but it's unclear whether he'll be booked in

another fight after his one-sided debut loss to Mickey Gall. UFC might just be keeping

him under contract so he doesn't go to Bellator. But even with Punk's MMA venture seemingly

running out of steam, a wrestling return still seems unlikely anytime soon. Punk told Fox

Sports earlier this month that he doesn't miss wrestling at all, and said a return to

WWE specifically is highly improbably while he's being sued by their doctor Chris Amann

- a lawsuit Punk believes WWE is funding. And nothing ever came of 5 Star Wrestling's

$1 million return offer back in May, so money doesn't seem to be a motivating factor.

Then again, that's why a spiritual homecoming to Ring of Honor seems the most probable scenario

- doing it for the love of the promotion that established his wrestling career, rather than

working for the McMahons yet again. Thing is, Punk might've already made a wrestling

return that nobody knows about. A year ago, Punk himself told Peter Rosenberg on ESPN

Radio the exact conditions in which he'd make his in-ring return:

"WWE, nah. Absolutely not. But you never know. I could pop up here and there...it's

not going to be anything televised. It's going to be me in a f***** ninja outfit wrestling

one of my buddies and nobody's ever going to know."

Liverpool end pursuit to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig - SPORTS NEWS - Duration: 1:36.

Liverpool end pursuit to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig

Sky Sports News understands the Reds decided to end their interest when their second, and final, bid was rejected by the Bundesliga club two weeks ago.

It is also understood Liverpool would renew their interest should Leipzig change their stance, but so far there has been no indication that will be the case.

A senior official at Leipzig told Sky Sports News last week that Keita will 100 per cent not be sold in this window having revealed the club had already rejected a £67m offer from an unnamed side.

The 22-year-old caused a Leipzig training session to be abandoned earlier this week after his brutal foul left team-mate Diego Demme needing to go to hospital for treatment.

Keita, who scored eight goals in 31 appearances last season, was later pictured making amends with Demme.

Liverpool have made three signings so far this summer, with Mohamed Salah, Dominic Solanke and Andy Robertson arriving at Anfield ahead of the new Premier League season.

Arsenal handed major boost in Thomas Lemar chase - SPORTS NEWS - Duration: 2:57.

Arsenal handed major boost in Thomas Lemar chase

Arsenal have had a third bid rejected for Thomas Lemar. Arsene Wenger has been chasing the Monaco winger all summer and is desperate to add to him the additions of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette this summer.

Two offers - for £30 million and £40m - had already been rejected before this weeks bid was made. French publication LEquipe claim this morning that it was for €50m (£44. 7m) and the Ligue 1 champions again swiftly rejected it.

But in what appears to be a slight boost to Arsenal in their chase of the 21-year-old attacker, the report also states that Monaco have hinted that a deal could still be possible. It says: A departure does not seem completely excluded.

That goes against what Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev stated earlier this week during a press conference when talking about Lemars future amid the ongoing links to Arsenal. "We have kept all of the key players that we intended to keep.

"I will address speculation relating to the case of Lemar. He is staying with us. He is an immense talent and is essential for the team.".

Meanwhile Alexis Sanchez has broken his social media silence - and dropped a hint he may not be ready to return to training with Arsenal.

The Gunners star, an avid user of Instagram, has not given an update on his whereabouts since speculation increased last week about a possible move to Paris Saint-Germain.

But he finally ended his internet silence in the early hours of Friday morning, less than a day after Arsenal had released confirmation that he was due back at London Colney on Sunday.

Sanchezs Instagram post, however, suggested he may have to push that date back a bit due to ill heath.

He uploaded a picture of himself looking glum, alongside one of his trusty dogs, wrapped up in a scarf accompanied with the caption sick.

The 28-year-old has just one year left on his contract in north London and reports suggest he wants to leave the Emirates, with Manchester City his favoured destination.

Arsenal transfer news: Arsene Wenger insists stars such as Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil playing - Duration: 4:45.

Arsenal transfer news: Arsene Wenger insists stars such as Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil playing with just a year left on contracts is 'ideal'

ARSENE WENGER is ready to write off up to £125million of talent by letting the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil leave for NOTHING – and incredibly insists it is an ideal situation.

The Frenchman – whose side won the Emirates Cup on Sunday – came out swinging when quizzed on the reality of having the clubs biggest names running down their contracts.

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has spoken of how he wants to play for a team in the Champions League.

German midfielder Mesut Ozil has been a key figure for the Gunners during this pre-season. Sanchez, Ozil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere are among a group of players with just a year left on their current deals.

But Wenger is adamant players who run their contacts down are more determined to play well and show their worth to earn a new deal – and not necessarily move on.

Asked if he was happy for Ozil to run down his £140,000-a-week deal, Wenger said: Yes. It is not an issue and I think its an ideal situation because everyone has to perform.

It should not change if you have two years or one year left, you go out on the pitch.

I dont understand, do you really think you sit in the dressing room before a game and you think, Oh I have only one year left to go so I will not play well today?.

Where does this come from? And what has that got to do with the length of your contract?.

Arsene Wenger could be set to lose his two prized assets this summer as Ozil and Sanchez have failed to agree on a new deal.

The Chilean international is attracting interest from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. And even if it happens that a player leaves it doesnt matter. It looks normal to me and I am amazed you are surprised at that.

I think in the future you will see this more and more – because transfer fees become so high, but it will happen because nobody will want the pay the amount of money demanded.

Im convinced that in the next ten years this will become the usual thing. Reports claim Chile striker Sanchez will try to force through a move to Manchester City within the next week.

Sanchez was due back at Arsenal on Sunday but posted an Instagram selfie claiming to be sick.   Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists stars such as Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil playing with just a year left on contracts is 'ideal'.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked to Chelsea and Liverpool. Wenger has since confirmed he has the flu but must deal with a player reportedly desperate to join Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.

Arsenal have EIGHT players in the final years of their contracts. They could get £50m for both Sanchez and Ozil and £25m for the Ox - who has even emerged as a shock target for Stoke - this summer.

Arsenal legend Alan Smith claimed it is a no-brainer to sell now. But Wenger hit back: The performance on the day does not depend on the length of the contract.

If that was the case, we sign everybody for 20 years.   Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger talks about Alexis Sanchezs return and Arsenals pre-season.
