Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson emerges as a shock transfer target for Serie A trio Cagliari, Hellas Verona and Sassuolo

ARSENAL defender Carl Jenkinson has emerged as a shock transfer target for Serie A trio Cagliari, Hellas Verona and Sassuolo.

The Gunners full-back, 25, has been linked with a surprise move to Italy, as well as Premier League new-boys Brighton and Hove Albion. Carl Jenkinson is a target for a trio of Serie A teams, including Sassuolo.

Carl Jenkinson could finally put his Arsenal nightmare behind him and move permanently. Jenkinson has struggled to break into the first-team under Arsene Wenger since swapping Charlton for the Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea transfer news: Diego Costa will not wait all summer for Atletico Madrid

DIEGO COSTA is growing frustrated with Atletico Madrid and will soon begin talks with other clubs, according to reports. The wantaway Chelsea striker is starting pre-season training in his hometown after being given an extended break by Chelsea.

Former Atleti striker Diego Costa is frustrated at a lack of progress.

The Spanish international posted a video of himself in his old kit. And with the Blues returning from their pre-season tour, Costa is still no closer to an Atletico Madrid return.

Following his public row with Antonio Conte, the Spanish international has been intent on joining Atleti despite their transfer ban.

But after posting a video of himself in his old Rojiblancos jersey and making no secret of his intentions, he is starting to feel let down by the club.

There are other interested parties in Costa, 28, and Spanish outlet AS  claims he will ask agent Jorge Mendes to pick up the phone if he does not get encouragement.

Atleti are trying to sign their former striker but will not be able to register him until January. The Brazil-born goalscorer is happy with this arrangement, even though it may hurt his World Cup chances.

Costas relationship with Antonio Conte hit rock bottom at the end of the season.
