Hello, this is Jackie! Welcome to Apprendre le français québécois! Today

We will talk about the term "faque". "Faque", it comes from "fait que" or "ça fait que"

It is an expression that is widely used in Quebec to express a consequence.

For example, "J'ai faim faque j'va aller manger" (I'm hungry, faque [so] I go and eat". Cause-Consequence: I'm hungry - I'll go

eat. It can be used in a variety of contexts. For example, "elle aime lire, faque j'vais lui donner un livre pour sa fête"

(she likes to read, faque I will give her a book for her birthday). La fêtel is the brithday in Quebec

We say "la fête de quelqu'un" (someone's birthday" instead of "anniversaire". We'll say a lot "sa fête". So, "faque",

we use it as "alors (then/so) or "donc" (so) or in France, they will say much "du coup".

"Du coup" in Quebec, we do not really say that, we will say "faque". This is very familiar.

We can not say it in a formal context, so we have to say it with friends, we can

write it if we write text messages, SMS. But not if we write an important essay

for university! Faque c'est ça! (So that's it!) another example, " "il faut qu'il fasse le ménage, faque il pourra pas venir"

(He must do the housework, so he can not come.) So, cause-consequence, again. we could

replace: "il faut qu'il fasse le ménage, DONC, il pourra pas venir" but in Quebec

we will say a lot "faque". Or we can pronounce "faique": il faut qu'il fasse le ménage,

faique il pourra pas venir" You can also use "faque", a bit like in an expression

of introduction. "Faque l'autre jour, j'ai rencontré Noémie au centre d'achats, tu sais pas cqu'elle m'a dit!"

(The other day, I met Noemie at the mall, you don't know what she said to me!) "Yeah ... So here we have an introduction, we can use it

slso as a conclusion. There, a story is told, then we end by saying: "Faque,c'est ça, on pourra pas aller en voyage!"

(Faque, that's it, we won't be able to go on a trip!) Yeah ... So here we have an expression of

conclusion. Faque c'est ça qui est ça! (That's what it is!), for the expression "faque"! Leave me some comments,

make ... Try to make a sentence with "faque", maybe? If you liked

the video, let me a little blue thumb, a small thumbs up. You can look on

Facebook too. I put expressions, interesting links, and I tell you

see you next time, bye!
