FUNDACIÓ MONA. 2017 WORKING FOR PRIMATES.

We have continued working for the welfare of our 18 rescued primates.

We have experienced a change of groups that has favoured the daily life and well-being of our rescued chimpanzees.

We have denounced the use of primates in advertising, getting some brands to commit to animal welfare

We have received more than 10,000 visitors and 4,000 schoolchildren to whom we have transmitted the respect for nature and primates.

We have attended more than 20 fairs, in Spain and England, and held the charity music festival Chimp&Fest to continue showing our work.

We have received more than 30 volunteers, 7 of them benefiting from the Erasmus+ scholarship.

We have appeared in the mainstream media giving primates a voice and showing their reality to the world.

We have reached more than 200,000 people through our social networks and web content.

We have continued our commitment to Ethological Research in order to evaluate and improve the conditions of the animals housed in the centre.

And we have carried out:

3 research funded projects

3 articles in impact magazines + 1 chapter of book

17 scientific papers at national and international conferences

6 working days of scientific divulgation

In addition, 83 students have attended our summer courses

and 40 students have taken the Master's and Postgraduate courses in Primatology that we offer in collaboration with the University of Girona.

15 new companies have joined our network of solidarity companies contributing to the welfare of primates.

We have inaugurated the EXPOPRIMATS exhibition

to bring the threats that lurk among primates to the world

and to provide the necessary tools for their conservation.

We have launched the book "Bongo: little story of a chimpanzee"

to continue working on education and awareness raising among the youngest.

And as a case of success, we have attended the 8th edition of Girona's Entrepreneurs Exhibition.
