Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News, I am Luke Owen.
Headline: Tomasso Ciampa: Ultimate Heel
The dastardly black heart Tomasso Ciampa has been on a heel tear since returning to NXT
earlier this year.
He cost Johnny Gargano his career, and then sent him to the hospital before his NXT Championship
match against Aleister Black.
But this time he's gone too far!
Ignoring Disney and Marvel Studio's very well crafted campaign of Thanos Demands Your
Silence to stop people spoiling the record-breaking Avengers: Infinity War - which is terrific
by the way - Ciampa took to Twitter to spoil the ending of the movie.
"Just saw Avengers.
Thanos is basically me."
Whoa, whoa whoa!
We're not reading that out on here!
Thanos demanded my silence!
Look at my badge!
[5-screen] What a heel.
What a controversial tweet.
Speaking of controversial!
We're off to the races with segues this week boys and girls!
Headline: WWE Return To Saudi Arabia Confirmed
WWE's Greatest Royal Rumble went off without a hitch this past Friday.
At least I think it did.
Braun won a lime green belt - was that what this was all about?
[06] Oh, and Titus O'Neill fell over.
But the show wasn't without its controversies.
Hornswoggle wasn't thrown over the top rope to be eliminated, Roman Reigns was SCREWED
out of the Universal Championship - his feet touched the floor first! - and Saudi Arabia
had to apologise for WWE airing the single greatest promo video for dual-branded PPVs
that has ever been produced.
This is going to be controversial.
But even with all of its controversies, the partnership isn't over.
While the exact terms of WWE and Saudi Arabia's relationship have yet to be officially revealed
- although some reports claim the company was paid upwards of $200 million - Riyadh
Report's Twitter account is claiming that WWE will be returning to Saudi Arabia for
another show - and it could be sooner than you think.
The Twitter account - who had access to the royal family dinner with WWE wrestlers and
Vince McMahon - report the show will take place in November 2018 in the country's
capital of Riyadh.
November, eh?
Greatest Survivor Series anyone?
Headline: Real Reason Sami Zayn Pulled From Greatest Royal Rumble
And one man who might not be there for the November shows is Sami Zayn, who was pulled
from the Greatest Royal Rumble show.
On the Monday Night Raw prior to the event, Sami cut a promo about how he and Kevin Owens
were going to win the 50-man Royal Rumble match, but Zayn ended up not being on the
show at all WWE issued a statement in response to Sami not being in Saudi Arabia saying,
"WWE is committed to embracing individuals from all backgrounds while respecting local
customs and cultural differences around the world."
Zayn posted on Twitter, "Je suis chez moi", which translated from French means "I am
at home".
WrestlingNews.co first reported that WWE had offered all of its wrestlers the option to
stay at home if they disagreed with the country's politics - such as women not being allowed
to wrestle or even do backstage segments on the show - and claimed Zayn was one of the
people to opted to stay in the United States.
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet has however reported that Zayn was not booked for the
show for similar reasons to the female wrestlers.
Sami Zayn is of Syrian descent, and very publicly launched a relief fund campaign to help anyone
affected by the Syrian War called Sami For Syria - which raised nearly $100,000 to open
mobile clinics in the country in August through December of last year.
Syrian and Saudi Arabian ties have been very strained over the last few years, with Saudi
Arabia cutting off their relationship with the country and expelling the Syrian ambassador
in 2012.
Satin is reporting that "similar to the women, Sami Zayn was not booked to compete
on the show to respect the local culture in Saudi Arabia."
