Lisa Riley: Loose Women star reveals 'emotionally draining' news after trying for baby
The 41-year-old has previously spoken out about her dreams to become a mother.
However, the former Emmerdale actress has now spoken out about how doctors have told her that her chances of getting pregnant are slim.
Last month, the Loose Women panelist revealed that she was turning to IVF treatment, as she explained that she was in love "for the first time" with boyfriend Al.
But, Lisa has now admitted the couple's hopes to have a baby together have been dashed, as she spoke out about the "emotionally draining" struggles to conceive.
Explaining that she'd had fertility tests in order to determine the likelihood of getting pregnant, the Strictly Come Dancing star told how they have decided not to pursue IVF.
Speaking to The Mirror, Lisa said: "Finding out that I was unlikely to get pregnant was a blow but I refuse to be defined by that.
"My body was being pumped full of hormones to get my egg readings, and in the end they werent good, it messes with your head and I just couldnt do that to myself any more.
Discussing how her struggles to get pregnant had affected her emotionally, she continued: "The past few months have been really hard, emotionally draining, and we just decided that enough was enough.
However, Lisa went on to explain that despite the setback, she was feeling positive in herself following the news.
"People think women need to have a child to complete themselves, but that just isnt the case," she said.
"I feel that I have taken ownership of the situation now.
"I have seen other people go through years and years of IVF treatment and the stress and the pressure that creates," she confessed.
"I dont want to do that.".
Ruling out IVF in the future, the star went on to explain that she was feeling happy about the decision.
"We have decided now that we arent going to go down that route," she said.
"And now that we have made that decision, I could not be happier..
It came shortly after Lisa opened up about her recent weight loss on Instagram, which saw her drop 12 stone through exercise and healthy eating.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate her first anniversary since her second operation for removing her excess skin, she told her 76,900 followers how the occasion had left her overwhelmed with pride.
In a lengthy post, the star wrote: "As I cry the tears of pride I am reminded that not many could have achieved what I did, and maintained this body and positive mindset.
The presenter went on to share a message of inspiration with her fans, penning: "To everyone out there… I want you to know IT'S ACHIEVABLE ONLY IF YOU WANT IT!.
"Do it for yourself, don't ever be bullied into being a person you don't want to be.
