This is a rant.

Complaint.

Not much of a goal or objective with this.

It's just something that bugs me about Danganronpa 3.

And it is an specific event, a spoiler I won't avoid at all, if you didn't play Dangan 2, seriously, skip this video.

The second trial in Danganronpa 2 has a minigame, Twilight Syndrome Murder Case, which turns out to be a real event in the past of some embers of the cast.

Mahiru, Saionji, Mikan and Ibuki discover a corpse next to Sato, a friend of Mahiru, afraid of being accused of a the crime nobody reveals it to the police.

On the 4th day Sato is murdered, and one of them claims it's a curse.

The complete version of the minigame reveals what happened, the victim was Natsumi Kuzuryu, Fuyuhiko's little sister,

who Sato kills to stop her from tormenting Mahiru, and then due to the evidence Mahiru photographed Fuyuhiko takes revenge and Sato dies.

This is vital to the character relationships, but Danganronpa 3 skips it almost completely, we don't see the consequences and all of it takes place in half an episode.

But beyond that… it just makes no sense.

One of the main elements about the case is the building, the room distribution, as well as the fact that all the characters are in the same building is essential to the murder and the following cover-up.

But Danganronpa 3 makes it clear that reserve students can't go into the main building, where the murder took place.

And Natsumi and Sato are from the reserve course.

You can't even say it's a retcon, since the fact they can't enter it's brought up in the same episode.

There's no reason or excuse for them to be in the main building, and even if something extraordinary allowed it… all the characters have to be in the building for all 4 days for the minigame to make sense.

Like I said, there's no real point to this, but meeting Natsumi and her story was one of the things I looked forward to the most about Danganronpa 3, and she was quite likeable,

but not only did I get 10 minutes of that story, but it didn't even make sense.
