Battlelines have already been drawn
in the leadup to the Queensland election
and as polls suggest, if Labor and the LNP
fail to win a majority, the result will come down
to minor parties.
And it's likely that
One Nation and the Greens could play
the key role in determining the make up
of Queensland's parliament.
"How are you going?"
Amy MacMahon is hoping to become
the Greens' first ever member
of Queensland parliament.
"It's an issue… yeah"
She's running in the seat of South Brisbane
currently held by Labor's
Deputy Premier Jackie Trad.
Following a change in the electoral boundary
Ms MacMahon is described as Greens'
"best shot" at winning a seat.
And the party thinks she's less than
500 votes away from claiming victory.
"We know this is going to be a tough fight
but we're running a grassroots campaign
that's rivalling if not beating those of the major parties."
If she does win, she'll sit on the powerful
Cross-bench which is likely to
include at least one Katter Party MP
