Waching daily Apr 3 2018

Summer brings with itself a lot of skin issues

and the most common one being the stubborn

tan that just refuses to go.

Hi I'm Manissha from Cape Of Good Soap and today,

I'm going to show you how you make a de-tan soap

which is really simple but highly effective.

We will follow a very simple & safe method

of making this soap called the Melt & Pour method

To make the soap, we will need

White soap base & Transparent soap base

Soap Bases are plain pre-made bases without any additives.

These are easy to use and save you from handling caustic soda.

Make sure you get one which is paraben & sulphate free,

and they are easily available online

You can use any clay like

Bentonite Clay, Dead sea clay or even Multani Mitti.

It unclogs the skin pores, controls oil formation,

gently exfoliates, adds glow

and it makes the skin softer too.

I'm going to use Bentonite clay,

which you can easily find online or at any beauty store

Poppy Seeds

Also known as khus khus

it acts as a natural exfoliator,

and is super gentle on the skin

due to its fine round granules.

Papaya Essential Oil

It impart some glow post usage of the product.

You can use lavender, rose or peppermint essential oil too,

to restore, calm and soothe sun damaged skin.

Liquid food colour

To give this soap a beautiful colour

Rubbing alcohol also known as Isopropyl alcohol

It is required to fuse layers, give the soap a neater finish

and to remove the bubbles.

A pretty mould

to give a beautiful shape to our soap.

And some microwave safe containers

We'll make a soap with two sides, both having the respective benefits,

where one side will act as a gentle scrubber having poppyseeds

and the other side will provide softening as it will have clay.

To make the exfoliating side,

the first step is to take a microwave safe container

You need to cut the transparent soap base into small even chunks,

and melt it in the microwave giving it 30 second heat burst.

Once melted, I'm going to add a few drops of orange food colour

about 8 drops of Papaya essential oil,

and a tsp full of poppy seeds.

Mix them all and pour them into the mold only half way.

Spray rubbing alcohol to remove any bubbles.

Let it set for some time till the layer thickens.

Now, moving onto the next side the soft one,

take another container

and melt some white soap base

following the same process as mentioned before.

Once it's melted, we need to add 1 tsp of the clay

and a few drops of papaya essential oil.

Mix them all

Now take the exfoliating soap mold

and check if it is set,

then go ahead and spray some rubbing alcohol over it

Pour the hot soap solution that we made carefully over the scrubby mold

and let it set in for a couple of hours.

Unmould it and you have your two sided soap ready!

This soap was super easy to make, wasn't it!

And the ingredients are easily available too!

All you need to do is just understand your skin and know what it requires.

Tutorial of this easy and versatile granny square - Duration: 14:02.

Welcome to "Made among the oaks"

Hi, I am going to show you how to crochet this granny square, this is the chart

and then I´ll do it myself later. We begin working 6 chains and

12 single crochet around those chains. I begin crocheting one chain but this one doesn´t count. Then, 12 s. c.

Afterwards, crochet 12 petals of 15 chains each. We go up with slip stitches.

On the next row, we work 3 chains at the beginning and then 2 d.c. We work them together.

then, 4 chains, a s.c., 4 chains, a s. c.

There are always 4 chains in between. At the corner, we work 3 d. c together

and then 4 chains in between.

On the next-to-last row, 3 d.c. together and 5 chains in between at the corners.

In the other places, only 4 chains. Here in the middle

we crochet d.c. 3 together. On the last row, we´ll crochet s.c. stitches.

7 at the corners and 5 at the other places

Now, I´ll do it myself. Then, I start crocheting 6 chains.

this is one chain, I turn over the hook, I tighten the chain, I will not count this chain.

Now I´ll crochet six: one, two, three, four, five and six and I crochet a slip stitch

On the first chain, not on the one I made the knot,

I work another chain, I will not count this one either, I crochet 12 s.c.: one, two, three, four

I hide the yarn of the beginning underneath... five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve

I finish doing a slip stitch on the first s.c. and I´ll begin doing the petals:

15 chains: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve

thirsteen, fourteen and fifteeen. Now I work a slip stitch or a s.c. on the second s.c. of the previous row.

You have to do 12 petals, it has to be 12

not 11 or 13, it must be multiple fo 4. Here, I have already worked 12 petals I go

to the first petal and work a slip stictch on the first chain.

Now, I have to go up the petal, I´ll do it

with slip stitches. Here, I am at the top of the petal, I´ll work

3 chains that are equivalent to a d.c. and two d. c. more but I will not finish them

I just do the first part of the d.c. Here I have 3 threads, I´ll take them together. This is

half of the corner, I will finish the other half at the end of the row.

Now I will crochet the sides: 4 chains, I go to the other petal, a s.c., 4 chains... 2.3

4, I go to the other petal and I work a s.c.I crochet 4 chains

I´ll do the corner on the other petal: 3 d.c. worked together:

a d.c. I don´t finish, yarn over, another d.c. I don´t finish

Now I go through the four threads together. Four chains: one, two

three and four. I´ll do the other side of the corner on the same petal,

again work 3 d.c. together.... the first one I don´t finish, another d. c. I don´t finish

another d.c. I don´t finish and then I finish them together. Well this corner is finished

You see the first corner is only half crocheted, but this corner is finished. Now

4 chains and I go to the other petal and so on... 4 chains and I go to the other petal

4 chains and I go to the other corner. You can see the corners are already finished

Now, I´ll finish the first one. I have already crocheted 4 chains

Now, d.c. 3 together

Now , instead of crocheting 4 chains, I´ll crochet only 2

This is the end of the row and I´ll crochet a half double crochet

I go through the three threads at the same time, it stays in the middle

because I´ll crochet half of the corner of the next row: 3 chains and

2 d.c. The 3 chains are equivalent to a d.c.

I finish them together and croche 4 chains: one, two, three, four and I go to the middle

I work a s. c., 4 chains and here in the midde d.c. 3 together:

One d. c. I don´t finish, another d.c. I don´t finish

another d.c. I don´t finish, I go through the four threads, 4 chains

a s.c. here in the middle. Now I will work the corner. First I crochet 4 chains

and d.c. 3 together

Here in the corner, instead of crocheting 4 chains

we´ll crochet 5 chains. In this row it is like that at the corners.

You have to crochet 5 chains: one, two, three, four, five and then

d.c. 3 together: one, two, three, 4 chains more

You only have to crochet 5 chains at the corners, the other places only 4: one, two, three, four

a s.c. here, 4 more chains

and here d.c. 3 together. I finish all the sides in the same way

The first corner was only half made. Now

I have to finish it. I have already worked a s.c. in this space, 4 more chains

and d.c. 3 together :

and here I have to crochet 5 chains

I finish with a slip stitch. I have already finished this row.

On the next row, you only crochet s.c. I work a slip stitch at the beginning and

5 s.c. At the corners, I will crochet seven s.c.

I go to the next gap, I crochet 5 s.c., I go to the next gap

I work 5 s.c., I go to the next gap, 5 s.c. more and when I get to the corner I will crochet seven

It is always the same. This is the way we finish this row, with only s.c. Well, see you soon.
