Summer brings with itself a lot of skin issues
and the most common one being the stubborn
tan that just refuses to go.
Hi I'm Manissha from Cape Of Good Soap and today,
I'm going to show you how you make a de-tan soap
which is really simple but highly effective.
We will follow a very simple & safe method
of making this soap called the Melt & Pour method
To make the soap, we will need
White soap base & Transparent soap base
Soap Bases are plain pre-made bases without any additives.
These are easy to use and save you from handling caustic soda.
Make sure you get one which is paraben & sulphate free,
and they are easily available online
You can use any clay like
Bentonite Clay, Dead sea clay or even Multani Mitti.
It unclogs the skin pores, controls oil formation,
gently exfoliates, adds glow
and it makes the skin softer too.
I'm going to use Bentonite clay,
which you can easily find online or at any beauty store
Poppy Seeds
Also known as khus khus
it acts as a natural exfoliator,
and is super gentle on the skin
due to its fine round granules.
Papaya Essential Oil
It impart some glow post usage of the product.
You can use lavender, rose or peppermint essential oil too,
to restore, calm and soothe sun damaged skin.
Liquid food colour
To give this soap a beautiful colour
Rubbing alcohol also known as Isopropyl alcohol
It is required to fuse layers, give the soap a neater finish
and to remove the bubbles.
A pretty mould
to give a beautiful shape to our soap.
And some microwave safe containers
We'll make a soap with two sides, both having the respective benefits,
where one side will act as a gentle scrubber having poppyseeds
and the other side will provide softening as it will have clay.
To make the exfoliating side,
the first step is to take a microwave safe container
You need to cut the transparent soap base into small even chunks,
and melt it in the microwave giving it 30 second heat burst.
Once melted, I'm going to add a few drops of orange food colour
about 8 drops of Papaya essential oil,
and a tsp full of poppy seeds.
Mix them all and pour them into the mold only half way.
Spray rubbing alcohol to remove any bubbles.
Let it set for some time till the layer thickens.
Now, moving onto the next side the soft one,
take another container
and melt some white soap base
following the same process as mentioned before.
Once it's melted, we need to add 1 tsp of the clay
and a few drops of papaya essential oil.
Mix them all
Now take the exfoliating soap mold
and check if it is set,
then go ahead and spray some rubbing alcohol over it
Pour the hot soap solution that we made carefully over the scrubby mold
and let it set in for a couple of hours.
Unmould it and you have your two sided soap ready!
This soap was super easy to make, wasn't it!
And the ingredients are easily available too!
All you need to do is just understand your skin and know what it requires.
