BREAKING News Out Of Texas… THEY FINALLY GOT HIM!!! - Duration: 2:17.BREAKING News Out Of Texas…
THEY FINALLY GOT HIM!!!
This week Mexican authorities turned over a U.S. citizen fugitive wanted for murder
and aggravated assault to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Hidalgo
Port of Entry.
"The coordinated effort between Mexican authorities, CBP Office of Field Operations
and the U.S. Marshal Service resulted in the seamless custody transfer of this person who
had been fleeing from facing the proper authorities for his alleged actions," said Port Director
Carlos Rodriguez, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzaludas Port of Entry.
On March 28, CBP officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge took custody of Evaristo Castillo Meza
Jr., a 25-year-old male United States citizen from Galveston, Texas after a query of national
law enforcement databases revealed he was the subject of an arrest warrant for murder
and aggravated assault from Brazoria County.
Mr. Castillo was turned over by Mexican authorities who encountered him in Reynosa, Tamaulipas,
Mexico.
CBP-OFO arrested Mr. Castillo, subsequently releasing him to the custody of deputy U.S.
Marshals who in turn transported him to the Hidalgo County Jail, where he will await extradition
proceedings.
Criminal charges are merely allegations.
Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
While anti-terrorism is the primary mission of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the
inspection process at the ports of entry associated with this mission results in impressive numbers
of enforcement actions in all categories.
