Liverpool did not make a January offer for reported goalkeeper target Alisson Becker,

according to Roma.

Italian outlet Il Tempo claimed last week that Jurgen Klopp had lodged a bid for 25-year-old

Alisson, but the Serie A side turned down the bid.

But it now turns out Roma did not receive a bid for Alisson, according to sporting director

Monchi.

Monchi said: "Did any offers come in for Alisson?

No.

It's too early to talk about the next transfer window, it's not very useful talking today,

about who will stay or go," as reported by Football Italia.

"Let's start talking about play, technique, tactics… that would be more useful for everyone."

Klopp is understood to have earmarked a new goalkeeper in the summer after dropping Simon

Mignolet in favour of Loris Karius.

Mignolet, 29, looks as though his time at Anfield is coming to a close and Klopp will

not be put off by Alisson's £44million fee after spending £75million on Virgil van

Dijk at the start of January.

Alisson though, who is under contract until June 2021, may need persuading about a move

away from Serie A.

"I am happy in Rome," Alisson told Sky Italia, last month after being linked with

Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

"It's always a pleasure to feel that lots of people are monitoring you but my head is

focused on Roma.

I leave my future in the hands of God.

"In June, maybe we will speak about it again but for now I am concentrated on Roma."

Real Madrid news: Gareth Bale upsets dressing room with transfer demand

Spanish media outlet Don Balon say the Welsh winger is desperate for Kane to be signed in the summer as Real look to bolster their ranks.

But that's upset Karim Benzema who know he'll be packing his bags if Kane arrives at the Bernabeu. Real are having a shocking season in La Liga despite securing title and Champions League glory last term.

Barcelona are a whopping 19 points ahead of Real and speculation continues to mount about Zinedine Zidane's future. Benzema in particular has struggled throughout the season.

The France international has managed a meagre six goals in all competitions. Spurs ace Kane, in contrast, has been prolific.

The England international is on 30 goals in 30 games and Tottenham insist Kane won't be sold even if a world-record bid is put on the table this summer.

Spurs don't want to sell any of their top talent ahead of their return to White Hart Lane for the 2018-19 season. The north Londoners cruised past Manchester United with a 2-0 at Wembley last night.

Kane didn't manage to get on the score sheet, but was influential throughout. Premier League legend Rio Ferdinand claimed after the game that Kane was on another level compared to Romelu Lukaku – who cost £75m in the summer.

I think Kane showed today why hes the best striker in the league and one of the most potent in Europe because hes bullied Uniteds centre halves, Ferdinand told BT Sport.

He totally dominated them physically and brought other people into play. The contrast between him and Lukaku today was so evident it was unbelievable from up here where we watched it.

The ball going into him, sticking, holding centre halves off and bringing others into the game. Thats a real No.9. Thats what you want to see a No.9 do..
