WWE News - Former WWE Superstar Wade Barrett Teases MASSIVE Royal Rumble Appearance

Former WWE Superstar and Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett is teasing a return at the Royal Rumble. The Royal Rumble is one of the most exciting times of the year if you're a WWE fan.

The Royal Rumble match itself promotes surprises, returns, debuts and a host of other ways to get excited as the company takes one night a year to treat fans to moments they may not otherwise get in any other pay-per-view.

Part of the fun leading up to the event is trying to guess which former WWE Superstars might make their return.

Even if for only one night, you never know which of the 30 entrants will be a name you haven't seen in a while. It adds extra intrigue when former WWE stars get in on the act and tease their return.

That recently happened when Wade Barrett (real name Stu Bennett) posted on Instagram a photo of himself at the beach.

Clearly enjoying the fun and the sun, in the caption, he wrote: "I'd like to be under the sea, in an octopus's garden in the shade.

WWE News - Superstars that headlined the most WWE PPVs of 2018

The 2017 WWE year is in the books and what a memorable year it has been.

This year has seen the rise of Braun Strowman to the main event picture in WWE, Roman Reigns defeating The Undertaker at WrestleMania, the return of Goldberg to the company, Brock Lesnars Universal Title win, the debut of Samoa Joe to the main roster, and so much more.

When you look back at all of the great feuds and main events of pay-per-views (PPVs) from this past year, one notices that a lot of names stick out on match cards more than others.

Several Superstars have essentially solidified themselves as main eventers for their respective brands.

Cageside Seats recently took notice of this, and compiled a list of which Superstars have been in the main event of PPVs the most this year in 2017. They did not count the Royal Rumble match in their list.

The list can be found here below (courtesy of IWNerd):. 5 matches: Braun Strowman. 4 matches: Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe. 3 matches: Kevin Owens, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, Jinder Mahal, AJ Styles.

2 matches: Shane McMahon, Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, John Cena, The Miz, Dean Ambrose. 1 match: Dolph Ziggler, Undertaker, Goldberg, Sami Zayn, Kane, Cesaro, Sheamus, HHH, Bobby Roode.

Multi-person matches, such as the Survivor Series RAW vs. SmackDown Live match or the TLC main event between The Shield and the team of The Miz, Braun Strowman, Kane, and The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro) did count on this list.

Had multi-person matches not been counted, Jinder Mahal would have led the list with three main event matches in 2017. He won the WWE Championship from Randy Orton and established himself as a new top heel on SmackDown Live.

With Roman Reigns expected to win the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34 next year, it can be expected that The Big Dog will be pretty high on this list once 2018 comes to an end this time next year.

BREAKING NEWS TONIGHT, URGENT ,Trump Tweets His 'Nuclear Button' Is 'Much Bigger' Than Kim Jong-un's - Duration: 5:00.

BREAKING NEWS ALERT , URGENT

Trump tells Kim Jong Un his 'nuclear button' is larger, 'more powerful'

Kim Jong Un rings in the New Year with a new threat

North Korean leader says nuclear button is always on his desk

President Donald Trump hit back Tuesday night at Kim Jong Un shortly after the North Korean

dictator claimed to have a "button" for nuclear weapons on his desk.

"North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the 'Nuclear Button is on his desk at

all times,'" the president tweeted.

"Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too

have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button

works!"

Trump's response followed Jan. 1 remarks in which Kim claimed the rogue nation's nuclear

capabilities are now "reality."

"The U.S. should know that the button for nuclear weapons is on my table," he said

during the televised speech, according to an Associated Press translation.

"The entire area of the U.S. mainland is within our nuclear strike range.

... The United States can never start a war against me and our country."

Kim continued, "We need to mass-produce nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles and

accelerate their deployment."

The back-and-forth between Trump and Kim followed recent military activity near known North

Korean missile sites in the past week.

The activity prompted U.S. analysts to believe that North Korea was prepping for another

intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test – likely this week.

But those plans appear to have been put on hold after South Korea offered to host talks

with the North next Tuesday.

Still, the latest intelligence, according to a U.S. defense official, suggested North

Korea wanted to try again with the ICBM that it last tested to perfect the weapon's reentry

- which has yet to be successful.

The Pentagon had anticipated a move this week but now believes it may be delayed.

During the New Year's address, Kim also called for improved relations with South Korea.

Mentioning the upcoming Winter Olympics, Kim said the event in South Korea could "be

a good opportunity to display the status of

the Korean nation."

WWE News - Update on Paige's and Braun Strowman's WWE Raw status - Duration: 3:32.

WWE News - Update on Paige's and Braun Strowman's WWE Raw status

Last week, WWE had to send home two of their Monday Night Raw superstars for different reasons, putting their status for the red brands first show of the new year tonight at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.

During a six-woman tag team match of Absolution members Paige, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville vs Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Mickie James which took place during a WWE Holiday Tour show at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island on Wednesday night, Paige suffered a stinger after she was kicked in the back of her neck by Banks.

The match was brought to an end early and WWE pull her from the remainder of the live events this week as a precautionary measure.

She hasnt made another appearance for the company since, leaving her status for Raw up in the air.

The next day, WWE also had to send home Braun Strowman, who had been working with Kane in preparation for their triple threat Universal Championship match alongside Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.

Reports later stated that The Monster Among Men was removed from the rest of WWEs live events this week due to illness, with the Wrestling Observer later stating that the illness was the flu.

His status for Raw was therefore up in the air as well. Now, according to a report by PWInsider, both Braun Strowman and Paige are scheduled to be at Raw in Miami, Florida tomorrow.

They didnt confirm if either had been cleared for in-ring competition, but they did say they will be there and available for appearances if WWE requires them.

Fingers crossed both superstars are able to work Raw this week, as theyre both in the middle of their own separate pushes which have been successful so far.

Paige has had her career revitalized through her recent push as the leader of Absolution after missing almost a year of action after she had neck surgery in October 2016.

Strowman, on the other hand, has been in the Universal title picture for the past five months. However, WWE fans wont mind if they still need another few more days to get ready for in-ring action.

Tennis news: Andy Murray nightmare, Roger Federer win, Garbine Muguruza horror injury - Duration: 4:15.

Tennis news: Andy Murray nightmare, Roger Federer win, Garbine Muguruza horror injury

Andy Murray may need surgery to deal with a hip injury that has forced him to pull out of the Brisbane International.

After being handed a first-round bye, Murray was due to face Ryan Harrison for a place in the quarter-finals but confirmed this morning that he was not fit enough to play in Brisbane.

And, in an emotionally charged Facebook post, the Scot went on to say that he would make a decision this weekend on whether to play in the Australian Open, which starts on January 15.

"Having played practice sets here in Brisbane with some top players unfortunately this hasnt worked yet to get me to the level I would like so I have to reassess my options," Murray wrote.

"Obviously continuing rehab is one option and giving my hip more time to recover.

"Surgery is also an option but the chances of a successful outcome are not as I high as I would like which has made this my secondary option and my hope has been to avoid that.

"However this is something I may have to consider but lets hope not." ****. Roger Federer continued his preparation for his defence of the Australian Open crown with a routine win over Karen Khachanov.

Playing in the Hopman Cup, a team event that has become Federer's customary season-opener in Perth, the Swiss was broken in the opening game of the match, only to break back immediately.

He hardly took a backwards glance after that moment, taking a 6-3, 7-6 win over the big-serving Russian in front of a record crowd for the competition, with nearly 14,000 fans filling the Perth Arena.

"I think that's what keeps me on tour," Federer said.

"If I had to play on the outside courts or stadiums that were not full at all, I think the passion would go away a bit even though I love tennis and what I do." ****.

Garbine Muguruza will join the growing list of players whose fitness is a doubt for the Australian Open after collapsing on court in Brisbane.

The Spaniard was serving with a 2-1 lead in the deciding final set against Aleksandra Krunic when she collapsed in pain.

The Wimbledon champion had been battling cramps from early in the second set but on the advice of coach Sam Sumyk, carried on without retiring.

However, she could go no further and was left sobbing on the baseline by the cramp that proved ultimately decisive.

But Muguruza admitted she was somewhat surprised by the problems. I cramp very few times, said Muguruza. The last time I cramped up was actually at the Australian Open in Melbourne.  "Maybe its the heat. Maybe its the conditions.

I dont know, but its rare for me..

WWE News - John Cena Becomes 10th Biggest Draw In Wrestling Live Events History - Duration: 2:50.

WWE News - John Cena Becomes 10th Biggest Draw In Wrestling Live Events History

John Cena has been confirmed by Wrestling Observer gaffer Dave Meltzer as the 10th biggest live event draw in wrestling history following review of his year-by-year gate receipt rankings.

Meltzer keeps tabs on attendance figures and profits of all WWE house shows, with a system in place that determines the difference-makers on the cards beyond the core audience that show up just to see Vince McMahons product swing by their town.

Filing his report in the most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he said, John Cena would now be the 10th biggest live event draw in pro wrestling history trailing Jim Londos, Bruno Sammartino, Lou Thesz, Bill Longson, Hulk Hogan, Ed "Strangler" Lewis, Argentina Rocca, Ric Flair and Buddy Rogers.

Other active wrestlers in the top 25 are HHH, Original Mistico and Randy Orton. The latter two would be the highest rankers not in the Hall of Fame.

Of the top 53, the only other non-Hall of Famers would be Kane, Roman Reigns, Dick Shikat, Danno O'Mahoney, Seth Rollins and CM Punk..

Still one of the few bonafide headliners in an increasingly barren time for individual ticket-selling stars, Cenas success flies in the face of the prioritisation of the WWE brand recent years.

Randy Orton, Kane, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins positions as the only other full-timers to make a similar dent in sales highlights what the company will either view as a broad success story for their contemporary philosophy or a worrying trend in lack of personalised audience investment.

Real Madrid news: Cristiano Ronaldo wants Lionel Messi, Neymar wages - interviewer reveals - Duration: 3:15.

Real Madrid news: Cristiano Ronaldo wants Lionel Messi, Neymar wages - interviewer reveals

That's according to a report by AS journalist Manu Sainz, the same reporter who just interviewed Ronaldo for the Spanish paper about his achievements in 2017.

Ronaldo has written his name into Real folklore over the past eight-and-half years, scoring 422 goals and winning 15 trophies. And after their recent success at the Club World Cup he revealed his desire to extend his stay at the club.

However, Ronaldo emphasised that a contract extension was out of his hands with the decision one for club chiefs to make.

It seems Ronaldo has now reached out to the media in a bid to convince Real to start talks over a new deal.

AS have focussed on the fact that the Portugal international is now earning £14.2m (€16m) a year less than Barcelona's Messi and Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar.

And they say he is still waiting on a call from the club to begin negotiations to tie him down beyond 2021.

AS journalist Sainz speculates that the pay raise is a bigger factor in Ronaldo's desire to sign a contract than committing his future to Real.

And his report has been published on the same day that an interview in which Ronaldo says hes happy in Madrid, conducted by him, has gone online.

Whether Ronaldo specifically mentioned to Sainz that he wants to put pen to paper on fresh terms is not known for certain.

But the fact the separate stories have appeared online on the same day appears to be too much of a coincidence for that not to have happened.

Whether Real will make a move to start talks with Ronaldo in the wake of Sainz's report remains to be seen. AS do say that getting the 32-year-old to renew his contract is one of their top priorities though.
