WrestleTalk Royal Rumble Sign ...for getting a 'Nia Jax You Broke Oli's

Nia Jax Calls Out Ronda Rousey Speaking of Nia Jax, it seems she wasn't
that thrilled by Ronda Rousey's WWE debut at the end of Sunday's Royal Rumble - no
matter how many extravagant WrestleMania sign points she did.
"Cool she's here....I guess 30 women making history can just be forgotten"
While generating huge mainstream coverage for WWE, Ronda's debut has received criticism
for overshadowing Asuka's first ever women's Royal Rumble win.
Jax's tweet, however, was most likely cleared by WWE first - possibly to play into a future
Raw or Total Divas storyline.
But while Ronda's WWE debut was secretly planned long in advance, the rest of the Royal
Rumble show was reportedly in flux...
Last-Minute Royal Rumble Changes Dave Meltzer is reporting "There were at
least three different rewrites of [the Royal Rumble]" on the day of the show, with "All
kinds of changes" being made.
One of these was Bobby Roode's Pre-Show Challenge, which PWInsider are reporting a
returning Dolph Ziggler was originally planned to answer.
But he wasn't the only one under consideration, because the Wrestling Observer claim "At
one point during the day, the opponent for Bobby Roode was going to be Adam Cole".
Thankfully this was scrapped when creative realised Cole's main roster debut would
be him losing in several minutes to the Glorious DDT, so he was switched with Mojo Rawley into
the Rumble match.
Elsewhere on the show, Wrestling Inc are reporting Alicia Fox had to be pulled from the Women's
Rumble match because she broke her tailbone while rehearsing for the Women's Rumble
match.
None of the women worked Saturday's Raw or Smackdown house shows so they could rehearse
for the over-the-top elimination bout, which is where Alicia suffered the injury.
She was replaced by NXT cameo Kairi Sane.
PWInsider are reporting the reason so many returning legends were used for the women's
Rumble is because WWE wanted the match to be a celebration of the division's history,
but also because so many former stars asked to be part of the match.
And while the women's Rumble was always planned to go on last, the order of the other
matches changed multiple times on the day of the show.
Rey Mysterio WWE Update Rey Mysterio also made a surprise WWE return
at the Rumble, but it appears it was only for a one-off deal, with PWInsider reporting
he's only interested in working a part-time schedule, while WWE want him back full-time.
TNA were trying to sign Mysterio for their last set of TV tapings earlier this month,
but the two sides couldn't reach a deal.
