WWE News - Why Alicia Fox missed the Women's Royal Rumble
January 28, 2018) was a truly historic moment in WWE history as the first-ever Womens Royal Rumble match was held from the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia.
A ton of women from WWEs past made appearances; including Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly, Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool, and so many more.
At the end of the night only two women were left in the ring for the opportunity to punch their ticket to WrestleMania with a guaranteed title opportunity - Nikki Bella and Asuka.
Eventually The Empress Of Tomorrow was able to eliminate Bella and solidify herself in history as the first-ever Womens Royal Rumble match winner.
Most of WWEs roster got the opportunity to participate in the first-ever Womens Royal Rumble match, even some NXT talents got in on the action. One veteran who unfortunately didnt get that opportunity was Alicia Fox.
reports that Fox actually broke her tailbone during rehearsals for the Rumble match. She was removed from the match and was replaced by another female talent.
Fox also leaves Goldust without a partner for the Mixed Match Challenge, and hes on the hunt for a new partner as he noted on social media recently.
Although Fox wasnt able to compete in the match it was Asuka who went on to win the bout, and both RAW and SmackDown Lives Womens Champions (Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair) were called into the ring.
Before Asuka could make her pick for WrestleMania ex-UFC womens bantamweight champion Ronda Rouseys music hit for her to make her WWE debut.
Now with the addition of Rousey into the Womens roster female professional wrestling just received a major push in legitimacy. It should be interesting to see how the WWE uses Rousey, who signed a full time contract with the company, moving forward.
