WWE News - Sting And Scott Hall Among Legends Spotted In Philadelphia

The city of Philadelphia has been going through quite the excitement when it comes to the sports/entertainment industry. For starters, the Eagles are headed to Super Bowl 52 in Minnesota next weekend.

Philly also hosted NXT TakeOver on Saturday, and EC3 was introduced as the latest addition to the brand. This came a day before the 2018 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, which will include the very first 30-woman battle.

On top of that, wrestling fans in the City of Brotherly Love were given quite the treat. Over the weekend, an Icons of Wrestling convention took place, and a number WWE legends were present.

According to Wrestling Inc. , the convention has included the likes of Ric Flair, Scott Hall, Scott Steiner, Mark Henry, Booker T, Jerry Lawler and this icon:.

Sting hasn't appeared on WWE programming since being inducted into the 2016 Hall of Fame class, so it had to be quite the thrill for fans to see him there.

Sting has been relatively quiet and out of the spotlight since retiring two years ago, but the man has kept himself busy in appearing at multiple wrestling conventions.

It's safe to say that Philadelphia has enjoyed one of the most memorable weekends in wrestling history.

NXT TakeOver, the Royal Rumble and a wrestling convention with a handful of legends? What more can they ask for?Sting has emphasized that he's been pushing for a WrestleMania match against The Undertaker, but hasn't been formally cleared by WWE to go with it.

The Vigilante has held off neck surgery which would end his career, hoping he'd get the chance to face the fellow wrestling legend. But at this point, a match with The Deadman will only happen in our dreams.

We know how much Sting loves showing up at wrestling conventions to show the appreciation he has for his fans. If he's not to wrestle another match, at least he's being ultra classy by showing up at conventions like this.

WWE News - Finn Balor's Self Advice For Royal Rumble 2018 Is Perfect

WWE superstar Finn Balor will get his chance to show he's finally "over" when he takes part in tonight's Royal Rumble at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Balor will be in the Royal Rumble for the first time in his career. He had to miss last year's event, due to a shoulder injury that kept him out of action for eight months.

Balor enters the show with 14/1 odds to win the event, according to Sky Sports. For Balor, the goal is simple: As long as both his feet don't touch the ground at any point, he will win the event.

The Demon King knows this, as he offered himself some great advice before tonight's show:Balor is among the favorites to win the event for good reason.

He's among the most beloved wrestlers among the WWE Universe, but Vince McMahon doesn't believe he's "over enough" right now.

Having The Demon King emerge victorious in the Royal Rumble could help him regain main event status.Originally, plans were to have Balor face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at tonight's show.

But Vince's lack of belief in Balor as a main star led to the match being pulled.

You may recall Balor posting a number of salty tweets and Instagram photos like this:The Demon King recently formed the 'Balor Club' with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, an obvious knock-off of the 'Bullet Club' alliance they were part of in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Perhaps the former Raw Tag Team Champions will help Balor regain his status as a main event superstar.

Thankfully, there haven't been any major spoilers as to who could win tonight's show, so there will be high anticipation and intensity throughout the match. If Balor doesn't win the Royal Rumble, then it's anybody's guess who he'll next feud with.

So first off we have Student Government announcements with Ana and Brooke.

Hi, it's Student Gov announcements.

Okay, um Tuesday, tomorrow is PJ day.

Wear your PJs.

Wednesday is sports day.

I don't like sports but yOu do, so wear sports things.

Thursday.

Thursday is a versus day where you have two teams: you have plants and zombies so you

can wear green and you be a plAnT, and you can black and grey and red and be a zOmBiE.

You can wear makeup, but no masks.

And then ffffFriday is monochrome(?)/fundraiser thingymabobber day.

Ya, so basically you wear a color so there is a blue team, green team and white team.

We're donating to the charity corresponding to that color the money we're also donating

to the other charities too.

And also w- DANCE and we have a dance on the....... -March -second (simultaneously).

It's on the *second of March (get it right kids) What?

yeah that it's on the * second of March.

See you there!

Bye.

Glad you're all caught up on student gov announcements.

Now let's catch up with the CAIS Sports.(thumbs up)

Welcome back to JV Sports Basketball.

I'm your host, Caiden Ridley and today I'm going to give you the stats and analysis for

JV basketball.

Starting off with the girls, they are 5:0 (W:L) but they are going to keep on fighting

strong.

Hopefully, they will get a win soon.

The boys are really good.

They are 3:2 and they have great shooting and passing.

Thank you.

Welcome to Varsity Sports!

Yayyyyyyy! ummm..... girls Varsity is doing great.

We are 3:2.

That's three wins by the way and two losses.

Okay?

That's Jamie.

I had that problem I didn't know which was which (s/n me too).

In basketball.

We have a game on Friday, hopefully, we win.

umm, so you'll see on Monday.

ummm, varsity boys is 4:2.

They are making playoffs.

yayyyy! (jazz hands) Good job boys.

Thanks for that blazing sports update.

Now we have some..an interview done by me, of course with Alison Park about diversity.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I'm Arthur Serra your 7th grade "friendly" news anchor and

I'm back with another I don't know if its another teacher bio, it's just... an interview

with Ms. Park.

Yes.

Hi, and thank you.

Great!

So Ms. Park (not Ms. Parks Arthur) here is going to do a presentation on what is it?

So just kidding around.

So something that I think is really human is that we make jokes.

Do you make jokes with your friends?

Yes.

Bad jokes really.

And sometimes you get a laugh.

Yes.

And sometimes do you realize you have to miss.

Yes.

And maybe it wasn't just not funny, but maybe kind of overstepped?

Yes.

Most definitely.

Especially when you get into something like roasting, is that a term you use around here?

Yes.

Yeah, so it's funny and all of a sudden it crosses the line?

Always.

So, we are going to have a conversation about joking around is what we all do, and sometimes

it is tricky.

Yes.

Okay.

Is...

Ummm...The faculty also told something about kindness.

So are we going to talk about that?

Yeah, so here is the funny thing.

Joking around is actually a way of connecting in a way it's an active kindness itself, and

sometimes it gets edgy and how do we be kind, when really, we were just trying to connect.

Yes.

And it just goes off the rails.

Completely.

So how do you come back from that is another problem.

Thats going to be very interesting.

Thank you so much, Ms. Park, (its Park, not Parks).

You're welcome.

I am Arthur Serra signing off.

See you soon

Thanks for that awesome talk about diversity,

Alison.

Now let's catch up with Allergy Friends.

We are Allergy Friends! We are first at it again with Allergy Horror

stories.

When I was six years old I was at my old house and my brother and I were drinking some chocolate

milk and since I'm allergic to dairy, I would have a glass of soymilk, he would have a glass

of regular milk and one day I grabbed the wrong cup and I drank from it.

I fell on the floor and I started clutching my throat because I couldn't breathe and I

was in extreme pain.

And so it was pretty horrific.

Wouldn't you want to not clutch your throat then it's going to minimize your air-

Jamie, sTaHpppp.

Jamie.

Well- you know what.

Jamie!

Well I'm asking him questions.

Well that was such a rude question.

Person: yeah it was probably so bad it gave him bad nightmares!

Did you have nightmares?

No.

I don't.

Thank you, Adam for sharing your story.

(claps) Thank you for wasting my time.

So Ross, what is your allergy horror story?

So it was really scary.

So I was three and my mom just lathered a lot of sunblock on me and I went in the pool

and that time I just noticed a lot of bumps on my arm and then I thought I got the chicken

pox, and I asked my mom.

She was like "No, honey, you're allergic to sunblock" and I started crying.

Thanks for sharing Ross.

Round of applause.

(clap)

Thanks for that talk allergy friends.

Make sure to watch out for your friend's allergies or your allergies.

ummmm, now we are going to see new clubs.

So I am live at baking with Chemistry and it seems like they are making cupcakes with

frosting.

So I am here with the green team.

What is your name and what do you do here Green Team?

Hi, my name is Carter and here we raise awareness for almost extinct animals and funds that

help them like the world wildlife fund.

What is your name and what did you do today.

My name is Nico Harper and today we filmed an ad.

He's from the green team by the way.

Here is Trevor and Elizabeth from green team and they were partners, so how did you work

together?

So we work together pretty well, except for the fact that the fact that Trevor did not

know what to do.

I feel like we did pretty well together just that I just "yolo"ed it.

So right now we are in Jam Band and we are videoing them rehearse for a song called Riptide.

We are going to get a little closer.

(sings)

Okay, we're gonna... let go ahead.

(does music)

Those were awesome new clubs.

Now, lets go to Arthur, interviewing the director of the middle school, Mr. Williamson.

Hello, I'm Arthur Serra your 7th grade "friendly" news anchor. and I'm back for another episode

of teacher bios.

This time I'm with Mr. Williamson.

So.

Mr. Williamson, what brought you to CAIS?

I heard about an offer from Mr. Bissell that we were going to be moving the CAIS middle

school from 150 oak to this new campus, a new beautiful campus and that really resonated

with me.

So I took the offer and here I am.

So what draws you to math?

I think Math is probably the most fun course to teach because you can immediately see student

learning.

Also if you taught.. well if you are teaching ELA, your hopes of being maybe at the end

of the semester you see student improvement.

In Math, you see it immediately.

If you could change one thing about this school

what would you change?

I really really really wish we had a gym.

Okay, I have one last question

Okay...fantastic...

How old are you Mr. Williamson?(facepalms) I'm a hundred and eighty, I just look good

for my age.

Oh really.

I thought you would have been at least fifty.

Fifty, forty, something in there.

You are going to get a great high school recommendation.

Thanks, guys this is Arthur Serra signing out.

Thanks Arthur for that amazing interview of Mr. Williamson.

Now we have a couple student announcements from kids which are from out of school.

Hello, I am here with the cast of Annie.

So what musical are you guys going to be in?

We are going to be in Annie.

What role are you?

(Points to Peter) Me?

Umm, (someone, someone,) and a slave.

Okay fine, a servant.

He's not paid.

I'm Drake.

What role are you?

I'm Annie! (cheers)

What role are you?

I'm July.

I'm Grace.

It's a really big part (clap clap clap go them!)

You didn't applause for the slaves.

What day and times are the shows?

So the shows are on the 15th, the 16th, and the 17th.

Of February.

(look they didn't screw up like ae nae and bokroe)

the fifteenth is actually a half day cuz you get out of school early because of mass greeting,

the next day we don't have school, and the third day, the weekends, so come by.

How much do they cost?

They cost money.

On the 15th the show starts at 5:30, on the 16th, it is pretty much our opening night and

So come on the 16th, not the 15th.

But if you can only make the 15th go to that.

On the 18th there is one at 1 pm and one at 7:30.

How much do they cost?

For grownups, it costs $25, for children, it is $15.

There is a special discount for teachers.

there are certain packs you can get.

There are cheap packs where it is $80 dollars for 8 kids to go so that's cheap.

Only 10 dollars a person.

And that's it, folks.

Come see ANNIE! (or Peter will kill you)

As Caiden said, there is a fundraiser for

soccer.

What is the fundraiser for?

So our team is raising money to go to Sweden and Denmark to go to a soccer tournament which is called the Gothia Cup.

It's like the World cup, it's just that its kids and over 500 teams all around the

world and come beat the tournament.

That seems pretty intense, do you guys think you are up for the challenge?

I think we are and so we have a raffle that we do to raise money, $10 per ticket if you want one just come ask Lily

or Isabella, and so the first prize is the iPad Pro (fancy, mines a 3) second prize is

the iPad, and third prize is the amazon fire.

you don't have to be present when we draw. and the drawing is not until June third.

How many people are competing?

A lot of people.

Like 715 people.

Oh, way more than that.

Great job kids.

Your parents must be very proud.

Now let's go to something brand new.

the Height Fight Challenge.

This is Height fight.

Welcome to the first challenge

This challenge is limbo.

First is Ross.

Let's go!

I'm gonna die.

Colby is... (slap x2) out.

Mckayla.......

Yes!

wHaT but he fell.

You have one more chance.

I don't think I can do this Colby.

whaehahaatghjht You got this Ross.

you got this Ross (a lot of times)

This is how you do it.

we winnnnnnn! it's over! yeahyeahyehya

Challenge Number 2

our second challenge is called head to head, feet to feet.

3.....2.....1.....GO!

and the winner is Mckayla and Colby.

In the very end, it was a tie.... see you next time. Byeee!
