Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News - I'm Oli Davis.
Daniel Bryan References Ring Of Honor.
Again.
Before Bryan was Daniel Bryan in WWE, Bryan was Bryan Danielson on the independent scene
- where instead of having a cuddly beard and leading the crowd in 'YES' chants, he
would ram his opponent's head repeatedly into the ring post.
As part of their Throwback Thursday series on YouTube, Ring of Honor posted Danielson
vs AJ Styles for the ROH title from 2006.
A match which Bryan shared on Twitter with: "@ringofhonor just posted this match between
me and @AJStylesOrg.
If only we could do it now... and I'd break his nose again 👊 Also #crossfacechickenwing
WAAAAAY better than @MartyScurll" In the match, Bryan wins with a Chicken Wing
submission - which is Marty Scurll's finisher, leading the Bullet Club member to tweet:
"A better Chicken Wing?
I hope you're All In with that statement" The 'All In' refers to the Bullet Club
pay-per-view set for this September, around the time when Bryan's WWE contract is set
to expire.
And Daniel isn't the only WWE contracted wrestler the New Japan faction are trying
to recruit…
John Cena Talks Joining The Bullet Club In a social media Q+A, John Cena answered
a fan question about whether he would join the Bullet Club.
But poor old John doesn't think he's good enough:
"That's a pretty elite club, I don't know if they'd have me.
I'm beyond my years."
Keep your chin up, John - because Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks has extended a Too Sweet
your way, tweeting: "We'd love to have you @JohnCena"
But with all the wrestlers the Bullet Club are trying to poach from WWE, what about the
top star WWE are trying to poach from the Bullet Club?
Kenny Omega Royal Rumble 2018 Update For the last two years in January, for those
magical few weeks of rampant speculation between New Japan's annual WrestleKingdom show on
January 4th and WWE's Royal Rumble pay-per-view later in the month, there's been rumors
of top stars from the Japanese promotion jumping ship to the States to debut in the Rumble
match.
Sometimes, these rumors come true in quite devastating fashion - like when AJ Styles,
Shinsuke Nakamura, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson signed for WWE in 2016, almost gutting New
Japan's main event scene.
And then there's the times nothing happens at all, like when Kenny Omega didn't turn
up in last year's Rumble following his 6 star match with Kazuchika Okada - despite
Cena trolling us all on social media teasing he would.
Speculation has ramped up again for this year's Rumble about Omega's impending WWE debut,
especially with the conspiracy theory that Chris Jericho was a Vince McMahon plant in
New Japan to get Kenny to defect.
This can now be put to rest, as the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting
Omega has signed a new year long contract with New Japan until January 31st next year
- meaning not only he won't debut in this year's Rumble match, it also rules him out
of 2019's too.
The New Japan vs WWE war has intensified with Kenny Omega shooting on Roman Reigns!
