I really like Pastor Eli because he is very faithful in what God put him
and that attracts me a lot.
My name is Vicente Batista.
I was a pastor of the Foursquare Church, approximately, in leadership, for 32 to 33 years.
Another 4 or 5 years inside the church
as an auxiliary worker,
as an auxiliary pastor.
And in 1972,
I went to Itajubá for the first time.
and from Itajubá there I started the pilgrimage
in several Brazilian states.
From the north,
approximately near the Acre
to almost south of the country.
I went through several states and preached.
I did a lot of things.
Automatically both inside and outside the church.
Within Brazil, around about 36 years,
more or less.
I have nothing to speak against the Foursquare Gospel Church.
They are very open, very friendly, very liberal.
I have nothing against them.
The only difference is that I'm seeing
the difference in the balance sheets.
The real truth and the
ALMOST truth.
The Foursquare Church comes very close to reality,
but some bases out of Scripture.
The fundamentality of its preaching of the truth,
does not support that of what the Bible teaches.
So, many things are materially... materials.
I had retired, I had already left
and there was no church to go, because in no church I fit in.
If I were to look at Adventist, I have already taken a full Adventist course,
just to know.
If I went to Jehovah's Witnesses, I already did the full course, just to know.
Of the Mormons, ditto.
And several churches, including other churches that I did as well.
Then I saw that it's, more or less,
getting out of nowhere.
So I stayed home about a year and a half
to almost 2 years.
And in that time, I happen to be watching,
by chance on TV,
and discovered Brother Eli.
I found it interesting, in the first days that I was watching,
I saw deep sincerity in him
in his explanations.
I started to be very zealous for these things.
I also started to accompany what he is saying
because he himself says,
'I might as well be a false preacher'.
That's how he talks from time to time
so we have to keep up.
When I saw that it is fundamentally within Scripture and in the correct
and just doctrine of the word of God,
I began to understand that he would be
roughly like a kind of
21st century Apostle Paul.
He is an intelligent guy.
He is within the word, honest; faithful to God, faithful to doctrine,
faithful to the Bible,
faithful servant,
and this interested me a lot.
"We are here in the city of Poços de Caldas..."
Then when he scheduled to go to Poços de Caldas, I'm from there,
"My question is not actually a question..."
I participated in the first, second, third, fourth,
fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth.
I have been in Poços de Caldas 9 times.
I talked to him a few times there too.

I really like Pastor Eli, because he is very faithful

And that attracts me a lot.
I was very interested in being baptized and becoming a member of the Church.
Thank God,
I concluded, I came, I was baptized,
and I feel fulfilled,
and I see that the doctrine is really the truth.
Brother Vicente now attends in the seminary to be a worker in the Church of God.
