Last night, 20 apartment buildings that double as so-called "Birth Hotels" were raided

by government officials in the city of Los Angeles California.

What has fast become a multi-million dollar industry Chinese women pay from $40,000 to

$80,000 to come to the US to deliver their anchor babies are now being raided by ICE

agents in hopes the practice will stop in the future.None of the women were arrested

in the raids but they are being treated as material witnesses for future prosecution

of the ringleaders.

Paramedics were on hand in case any of them went into labor during the sweep.

According to court papers, the investigation was aimed at ringleaders who pocketed hundreds

of thousands of dollars tax-free to help Chinese nationals obtain visas and then pamper them

until they delivered in an American hospital at a discount or for free since ERs are bound

by law to care for anyone who comes in seeking medical attention.A spokesperson for Homeland

Security did issue a statement later saying that coming to the US to give birth is not

illegal.

But that coming to the US under false pretenses is.

And that could be punishable by law.

Anchor Babies Issues

The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads in part:

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction

thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside."

Babies born to illegal alien mothers within U.S. borders are called anchor babies because

under the 1965 immigration Act, they act as an anchor that pulls the illegal alien mother

and eventually a host of other relatives into permanent U.S. residency.

(Jackpot babies is another term).

The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868 to protect the rights of native-born Black Americans,

whose rights were being denied as recently-freed slaves.

In 1866, Senator Jacob Howard clearly spelled out the intent of the 14th Amendment by writing:

"Every person born within the limits of the United States, and subject to their jurisdiction,

is by virtue of natural law and national law a citizen of the United States.

This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners,

aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government

of the United States, but will include every other class of persons.

It settles the great question of citizenship and removes all doubt as to what persons are

or are not citizens of the United States.

This has long been a great desideratum in the jurisprudence and legislation of this

country."

The original intent of the 14th Amendment was clearly not to facilitate illegal aliens

defying U.S. law at taxpayer expense.

Current estimates indicate there may be over 300,000 anchor babies born each year in the

U.S., thus causing illegal alien mothers to add more to the U.S. population each year

than immigration from all sources in an average year before 1965.

The correct interpretation of the 14th Amendment is that an illegal alien mother is subject

to the jurisdiction of her native country, as is her baby.

Over a century ago, the Supreme Court correctly confirmed this restricted interpretation of

citizenship in the so-called 'Slaughter-House cases' [83 US 36 (1873)] and in [112 US

94 (1884)].

In Elk v.Wilkins, the phrase 'subject to its jurisdiction' excluded from its operation

'children of ministers, consuls, and citizens of foreign states born within the United States.'

In Elk, the American Indian claimant was considered not an American citizen because the law required

him to be 'not merely subject in some respect or degree to the jurisdiction of the United

States, but completely subject to their political jurisdiction and owing them direct and immediate

allegiance.'

Congress subsequently passed a special act to grant full citizenship to American Indians,

who were not citizens even through they were born within the borders of the United States.

The Citizens Act of 1924, codified in 8USCSß1401, provides that:

The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth:

(a) a person born in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof;

(b) a person born in the United States to a member of an Indian, Eskimo, Aleutian, or

other aboriginal tribe.

American citizens must be wary of elected politicians voting to illegally extend our

generous social benefits to illegal aliens and other criminals.

This is why we need to get rid of the anchor baby law ASAP.

This is a law that should have never existed.

Just because you are born on US soil shouldn't make you a US citizen with all the same rights

someone who is born here not out of false pretenses enjoys.

We need to start caring for our own once and for all.

We are not the world's refuge for people who just rather be a United States Citizen

although they have no clue what the United States really is or means.

Enough with the lawlessness.

'People were vomiting all over the boat': Passengers recall horrors of cruise ship that sailed into 'Bomb Cyclone' as new footage shows water pouring from the ceilings and balconies covered in ice

Sailing from the Bahamas to New York to celebrate the New Year was supposed to be a relaxing getaway with gentle seas.

But passengers aboard the Norwegian Breakaway cruise ship were left seasick and fearing for their lives after the ship sailed straight through a powerful winter storm.

The beginning of the 14-day New Year celebration on the Breakaway went smoothly, but it ran into major problems during the final days of the trip as it made its way back from the Bahamas to Manhattan.

Three days before it was supposed to re-dock in Manhattan, the ship ran into the bomb cyclone, a massive storm that buried the Northeast in snow and ice.

Now passengers have shared their horror, revealing how people were vomiting all over the boat and children were crying because of the rough seas.

The Norwegian Cruise ship Breakaway sailed through winter storm bomb cyclone causing passengers to panic because of the dangerous weather conditions . The strong winds easily tossed outside furniture around the ships deck.

Passengers aboard the Norwegians ship Breakaway said the terrifying weather conditions lasted for three days . Crews placed towels on the floors after one video showed water pouring from a ceiling .

  Several members of the ships crew were seen mopping water from the sopping wet floors .

Passengers aboard the ship flocked to social media to share videos and photos of huge waves crashing against the boat causing it to rock back and forth in the middle of the Atlantic ocean.

It sounded as if the boat was just going to break in two, passenger Brenda Walsh-Matias told WNEP.    .

It was the scariest thing Ive ever experienced. The waves were over 40 feet and it was continuous – children crying, people seasick, vomiting all over the boat..

Other videos showed art work taped to the wall so they wouldnt crash to the ground and towels spread across the sopping floors. Passengers who were too afraid to sleep in their rooms, camped out in the main lobby.   .

Another video showed water pouring from the ceilings, flooding and the balcony and outside deck covered in ice. It was so ferocious. I cant even explain it, Walsh-Matias said.

Another passenger, Julia Wedidow, said she woke up on the first night of their three-night disaster to items from her closet falling on top of her.

I literally started saying prayers because I was so scared, Wedidow, who was on the cruise with her three-year-old son, told WNEP. Passengers shared videos on social media showing the waves crashing over the lower decks of the ship  .

The water was so rough that it caused the cruise ship to rock back and forth as it sailed through the bomb cyclone. One passenger said the waves reached her 11th-floor balcony  .

  The storm left snow and ice covering the ships decks and balconies . Even some of rooms along the deck were covered in ice from the storm.

Passengers have demanded Norwegian give them a refund after the disastrous trip. Norwegian apologized to passengers and said weather conditions that day were stronger than expected .

Although the 4,000 passengers made it safely back to New York, many of them are still haunted by the experience.

Christina Mendez, who was on the cruise with her two children, told CBS News that it was hell for her and her family.

She had documented the horror on her Facebook page, sharing a video of the waves nearly reaching her 11th-floor balcony. (My kids are) remember puking everywhere. Theyre gonna remember everything they heard and saw, she said. .

 Many of the passengers said they requested refunds from Norwegian, but only received a $500 credit towards another one of their cruises.

The cruise line said in a statement that weather conditions were stronger than expected and they apologize for any discomfort passengers may have experienced.    .

E! News executive denies Catt Sadler was paid less because she's a woman

E! News has responded to the ongoing controversy over the departure of long-time host Catt Sadler, who left the network in December after learning she was being paid significantly less than her male counterpart.

Sadler, whos been with E! for 12 years, explained that she was alarmed to learn of a massive disparity in pay between herself and her male co-host Jason Kennedy, who she claimed made close to double what she did.

The news sparked widespread controversy, with stars including Jennifer Lawrence and Debra Messing speaking out in support of Sadler.

Addressing reporters at the Television Critics Association Press Tour today (January 9), Frances Berwick, president of lifestyle networks for NBCUniversal, defended Sadlers lower salary by claiming that her role was different from Kennedys.

There is a lot of misinformation out there. Catt Sadler and Jason Kennedy had different roles and therefore different salaries, Berwick said.

Catt was focused on daytime, Jason is on prime evening news plus red carpet. Our employees salaries are based on their roles and their expertise, regardless of gender. We wish Catt well..

Following her departure, Sadler defended Kennedy and begged viewers not to blame him for the situation. He has done right by me in every respect, she wrote in an emotional Instagram post.

It hurts me deeply to see that some are vilifying him. I repeat, his hands are tied on this matter and if youre angry – rightfully so – direct that emotion at the decision makers who failed us, not him.

1Des Daily News: The Consequences of Flying While Brown - Duration: 3:01.

Hey Desis, this is your host Ayushi Chhabra with another edition of 1Des Daily News.

Back in October, people around the world were in shock of the treatment of pregnant Desi-American

professor Anila Daulatzai who was dragged off a plane in an unnecessarily violent manner

by police officers on a Southwest flight.

Anila, who, due to her allergies, simply re-seated herself away from passengers who brought dogs

on the flight, was subjected to verbal taunting, physical abuse, and humiliation through torn

clothing by police officers who aggressively man-handled her

off the plane.

Was this because she was particularly unruly?

Or was it because she was Desi, Muslim, and a woman…the trifecta that allows law enforcement

to go on with abuse.

For comparison sake, watch at the treatment of white male David Brackett, who made repeatedly

lewd comments to flight attendants and passengers on a Jetblue flight.

Brackett, unlike Anila, created a public scene for a long time before he was escorted off

the plane.

The law enforcement officials did not use any of the aggressive yelling, pushing, or

grabbing to Brackett that they did with Anila.

Is there a criminal charge that Desis need to be aware of when flying while brown?

Should we be put on notice that the criteria for treatment of us and other minorities will

be more severe due to prejudice against us?

Since the video of Anila's flight ejection went viral, southwest did issue an apology

to her but she is still facing criminal charges that the police officers trumped up against

her, for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

In an article for vogue magazine, writer Mary Wang wrote that: "This incident highlights

how, especially in Trump's America, traveling inherently carries more risk for people of

color.

In an age when travel bans are continuously issued, revised, and contested, when it's

never clear which visa type will remain valid, it is no surprise that anyone who doesn't

pass as white could feel an increased pressure at the airport, no matter what his or her

immigration status might be."
