In case you hadn't heard, 5 Seconds of Summer is back
with their first new music in years and the guys are
opening up about it in a new interview with radio.com.
As for that new song you just heard, "Want You Back," bassist Calum Hood
explained that the songwriting process wasn't strenuous
at all, but rather super organic, calling it "very free flowing."
Despite having confidence in the material, Guitarist Michael Clifford
confessed that the nerves were still there upon the single's release.
"I think we were so nervous and I think we still are really nervous
about the rest of the record. We've lived with the songs for two years,
but I think that's what's making us so driven to make sure it's the best it can be."
While this is all leading to the guys' third studio album,
things still feel new, as Ashton Irwin pointed out…
"This era of 5 Seconds of Summer feels like the first era to us."
You can catch the band on the road around the world this spring on tour,
which kicks off March 20 in Stockholm, Sweden
and for more, feel free to head to billboard.com.
Until next time, for Billboard News, I"m Kevan Kenney.
