For any young player, it is of great sign to be compared to a footballing great.

That's what happened to Jesse Lingard after he was labelled the English version of Andres

Iniesta by former Manchester United coach, Rene Meulensteen.

Rene Meulensteen was a part of Sir Alex Ferguson's backroom staff, during the Scott's final

few years as the Red Devils' boss.

However, after he retired, Meulensteen in the hot seat of many teams, including Anzhi

Makhachkala, Kerala Blasters, and most notably, Fulham.

Speaking to 888sport, the Dutch head coach revealed Sir Alex Ferguson's ideal player.

"Sir Alex always had a clear ture of what a good player looked like and they had to

have quick feet, quick brain, and a big heart," he said but not before pointing to a particular

player possessing these traits.

"That is basically everything that Jesse had but he was very slight for his age.

I worked with him from the age of eight or nine and taking him abroad for tournaments

and he was always having to fight battles because he was tiny of build.

"The difference with Jesse is that he was always the English version of Iniesta.

He can play in the pockets, he's very mobile and very agile.

"He can beat a man and he's good in combination play.

The last few seasons he started to score important goals as well," said the former Manchester

United coach.

Arsenal news: Gunners will only finish top four if these TWO stars perform - Carragher - Duration: 1:59.

That is the verdict of Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.

Arsenal fell to a 3-1 defeat to title chasers Manchester City on Sunday.

The loss means they drop to sixth place in the table, having started the weekend up in fourth.

And ex-England defender Carragher thinks forward duo Aubameyang and Lacazette will be responsible for leading the Gunners back to a Champions League qualifying spot come the end of the season.

Ahead of the the clash against City, Carragher was asked by Sky Sports presenter David Jones: "Do you think Arsenal's top four hopes really rest with Aubameyang?"

"Yes, him and Lacazette. I do believe that," the former defender replied.

"I think that is the big success story of Emery this season. I look at that and not just Arsenal, but other teams.

"We talk about Harry Kane and 'who can you buy when you've got Harry Kane?'. It's difficult because teams don't really want to play two strikers.

"He's changed the system at times, gone with a diamond, two up front, three at the back.

"Aubameyang's played wide but he's kept him happy and delivering and scoring goals.

"And the big debate he has that when you play in these big away games, do you play the two of them together?

"I think he has to really because if he's going to get results on the road, which they have to do because their record in away games is shocking.

"That's why he's got the job because of the lack of backbone in these big away games.

"But that has been the big thing and Aubameyang, it almost feels like, he hasn't gone under the radar, but we don't really talk about him as being one of the stars of the Premier League.

"Maybe because he hasn't been there so long and Arsenal aren't doing so well.

"But you actually look at his record, he's right up there with Kane, he's right up there with [Mohamed] Salah."
